TP 8 - taskbar are driving me crazy!

for some unknown reason, the taskbar has turned into a double line.

everything I try I can't bring it back to a single line.
follow all the advice on the web I found, etc. unlocked.
no hidden icons.

I don't get the framework surrounding generally greyish to sqeeze

It can be devilishly hard to catch the limit splitter with the pen. Have you tried to unlock the bar of tasks and using a mouse? When you hit, you will see the double arrow up/down. It was the only way I could catch him. I have the same problem with dispatchers in some desktop applications, such as Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.

Don't forget no re - lock the taskbar when you have it the way you like it. :-)

    Please help me in one last attempt make this usable computer until I have spend money on replacement.

    I had a 1 year (see guarantee) Thinkpad E530 Windows 7 64 bit. It has a 2.5 Ghz Intel i5, 4 GB RAM and Intel HD Graphics 3000. I'm running MSE for antivirus. On paper, it must be able to manage everything that I do on a daily basis. The CPU (usually less than 10%) and the use of the memory of agreement, my hardware is apparently barely stretched by why I do it.

    This is probably not your problem, but it could be a part. If you leave a CD/DVD in the optical drive of computers, they should "launch" and be read to any operation involving the Explorer (aka file operations). This can create some "latency time" which makes your computer appear to "stall" before it happens on what you asked it to do. External USB HDD can cause the same effect to a lesser degree than their playing time is faster than an optical drive.
    You specifically mentioned opening Word as problematic. Try to open in the start menu by typing winword.exe/Safe. Word opens in SafeMode without macros or add-ins. If the word snaps to attention, look what add-ins you have installed, and what you can live without. Disabling or uninstalling necessary add-ins you open Word as an administrator in order to get the privileges required for uninstall.
    On a related note, you might want to look in ReadyBoost. I never use the card reader on my Dell E6410 (with a material similar to yours) so I got a 32 GB SD card and half devoted to ReadyBoost and redirected %tmp% and temporary Internet files in the other half. Now open any office application is instead of restoring from being reduced to a minimum opening the menu start. Note that ReadyBoost on a card reader or USB is more effective when you access many small files. There are many less improved access to a few large files. After initially installing a ReadyBoost drive, you will see an improvement and it gets better as ReadyBoost 'learn' programs and processes access you most frequently. Reformat the SD card dedicated to a NTFS file system also helps.
    Do not confuse ReadtBoost with ReadyBoot. HTH.

  • Video layer masks are driving me crazy

    OK, so I made a sequence of png in AE, imported in PS (CS5) as a layer video, resize it so converted to dynamic.

    Now, I add a mask, and it resets itself to some arbitrary place that the first frame of the video is in. I'll try to explain it a little more.

    Lets say the visible part of the first image in the video is 400 x 200, but to frame 10 it goes beyond the scope. The mask Auto-sets itself the range 400 x 200, then when the video reached some of its parts 10 frame out the mask, even if I painted the top mask.

    Not only that, but after I replay the video a few times, all masks just disappear. It's really driving me crazy. Should I just go back to the use of sequences of layer?

    Masks may not change over time. They are linked to the layer and this is what you see - a video layer is just a layer, even if its content is changed. Indeed, using the animation of image or using dedicated layers would be the only way to get what you are looking for.

    Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.

    Do a check with some malware malware, analysis of programs on the Windows computer.

    Please scan with all programs, because each program detects a different malicious program.

    All of these programs have free versions.

    Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before scanning.

    Alternatively, you can write a check for an infection rootkit TDSSKiller.

  • Application of direct launch buttons are driving me crazy

    I have a portable game Alienware Area-51 m9750 running Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit, which I use almost exclusively for playing World of Warcraft. There, above the function keys on the keyboard, some application direct launch buttons, which are an absolute nightmare. I'm 6'3 "and 215 lbs, and my hands are big, so when I play world of Warcraft, in hectic battles, I hit keys so quickly that the tips of my left index finger and the middle finger sometimes graze my buttons of Internet Explorer and Windows Mail.

    My record after a session of WoW currently amounts to 49 (Yes, forty-nine, quatre-neuf) copies to open Internet Explorer, and a copy of Windows Mail (I use never either of these programs for anything, I use Firefox for two web e-mail and browsing the Web), but gets powerful WoW slow when it is competing with forty-nine copies of Internet Explorer for system resources.

    I've been Googling this for hours, and the search for Alienware sites so Microsoft, but I can't find a single post on how to disable or turn off otherwise these buttons clearly unnecessary and very annoying.

    I went into the Device Manager and concluded that, to my dismay, the "Disable" option for all the five direct application launch buttons is gray and I suppose that if I type "Uninstall", Windows will be simply to detect them and reinstall them immediately or my computer crash, because they seem to be part of my motherboard.

    I'm about to take a great (sharp) to flat head screwdriver and tear them on my computer, but something tells me that would do much more harm than good (like computers in general do not respond well to the reckless material withdrawal fueled by the frustration of extreme users).

    If someone could tell me how I can disable these infernal devices permanently (at least what I've voluntarily turn on again them), so I never need to think about them, ever, that would be great. They are nothing more that a nuisance, I have no need practice nor application for them either, and I want that they GONE.

    I finally found the answer this question on my own.  While looking through the manual to use my computer for anything else, I found a section on keyboard special functions.  It seems that my live ever-so-annoying application launch buttons can be disabled (and then activated again) simply by pressing the Fn and F11 keys at the same time and I did it, and they are bothering me is no longer.

    Having recently acquired a new computer AMD X 6 with 2 drives 1 CS2 and DV video t. I hope soon to acquire a new camera and CS5. After bumping into an old friend at a camera shop and the establishment of rendundancy wasn't a problem because I have always backed up on DVD as soon as my last work was done, suggested that I should at least;

    (a) re format my main drive and partition to only 100 GB for the operating system and programs (leaving the rest of the seeing dormant disc he'll just get fragmented otherwise)

    (b) re format my 2nd drive and partition to only 100 gig for pagefile/scratch/rendering/project files

    (c) 3rd aquire Samsung F3 1 t for my Capture and output files.

    After speaking to someone else, they are strongly advised to get 2 additional drives 350 gig instead of a 3rd disc. A new drive would be for OS & one would be for pagefile/scratch/rendering/project files, leaving my original 2 drives to Capture & output respectively.

    I don't want to spend a lot more money see I'm savng for the new camera/CS5. They both think they're right for the less profitable improve speed. But who is right?

    Since there are different options/settings of the standard page in a new window or a new tab, could you confirm if you have one or two of these problems:

    • Ask if poster at the start, in a new window (Cmd + n), and when you click the Home button
    • Ask appears when you open a new tab in the same window (Cmd + t)

    For these two problems, the first thing to check is an unwanted extension. You can view, disable and often remove the extensions on page modules. Either:

    • CMD + SHIFT + a (Windows: Ctrl + Shift + a)
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

    In the left column, click Extensions. Then take a critical look at the extensions listed on the right side. If in doubt, disable or remove if possible. Remember that all extensions are optional, none come with Firefox.

    Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

    Then tab or click this form field and you can test using Ctrl + t.

    Custom new tab

    It is easy to enter your favourite homepage address. If you check either of the boxes, the expansion will set the focus in the page as well, for example, the cursor will be in the Google search box. (See third screenshot attached). I had to leave Firefox and start it up again before new custom tab started working, but this may have been due to tests so many extensions back to back.

    To turn off hardware acceleration in Flash Player:

    1. Go to the Adobe Flash Player help page.

    3. Click settings on the shortcut menu. The Adobe Flash Player settings screen opens.

    I use a mac 10.5.6 with the latest HP driver.

    When I try to print using a colorprofile I get very poor results! The color management system can not be disabled!

    First of all. Im trying to print using Photoshop CS3. In the PS print dialog, I select:

    -Color management in Photoshop

    -The color appropriate for my HP paper profile

    In the system settings, however, the option to deselect the color management (under paper/quality) is a party! I don't see this option when photoshop does not handle the colors!

    I post a picture, but I don't seem to be able to add one in this forum.

    Every help and FAQ always indicates that the color management wihtin should I disable the control panel of the printer. But I can't!

    If I use the settings colors are very bad! Please help, this is driving me crazy!

    Yes, I found a solution. You must let the re-kalibrate printer out the print heads, putting them back in and restart the printer. HP phone support was very helpful.

    This thread is a bit confusing! I'll try to summarize.

    Block some content unsecured to secured pages is a trend; I think that Internet Explorer has done this for a while.
