  If you really must do it entirely in Illustrator, you can either 1) hide the image using the Panel transparency; or (2) you can do it with a clipping mask.

  To achieve this by using all the techniques, you will have to trace the contour of the mirror first and then black paint. Then:

  (1) position way to contour of the mirror above the image, make a rectangle that is larger than your image, select both and combine them (Ctrl/Cmd + 8). Then place the traces on the image, and in the Transparrency Panel, choose "Make mask". Don't forget to check the Panel "Clip" and "invert the mask.

  or

  (2) take the contours of the mirror and the rectangle, select them and choose Create a compound path (the mirror area should be gently from the image). From there, select path and image and group them. Then you can select the Group and, in the layers panel fly-out, click Create/cancel clipping mask.

  There you have it. The two techiniques have ups and downs, give it a try.

  Hello, I had a question about the placement of an image into text.

  I did the contours to create text to place the image inside. My text is 5 words and two lines inside the box.

  First of all, there are two ways of describing the type. The default value creates anchored objects. You want a separate object, so hold down the Option/Alt key when you create outlines. Drag the new contours to separate the text block.

  It is useful to open the layers panel and view the contents of the layer. You have created a group which consists of two transparent traces. In the layers panel, expand the layer so you can see the structure. Shift-select the two transparent traces. (Make sure that the group is not selected.)

  

  Then choose object > tracks > make a compound path. This makes the two transparent tracks into one. Then, you can place or paste into the single compound path.

  I am creating a VI in order to acquire images from a camera (Basler scout). Among the features, I need to implement, one is the direct route to the contour of the gray scale values to increase their visibility (I then use it to tune in to a light source a Gaussian distribution centered).

  My problem here is that the images are too big and the whole VI accused, with a new track that appear every 3 to 5 seconds, which is too long. A constraint is that I must be able to record images with full resolution.

  Attached are 2 easy examples, one using labview only and the other using Matlab to decimate the number of pixels and a typical result. The two performed in the same way, too slowly.

  Ultimately, conversion and decimation in matlab seems very time consuming too. I'm not a labview expert so I can have overlooked an easier way of doing it, but so far I feel really stuck...

  So should what direction I follow? MATLAB or Labview? What could I use in Labview to reduce processing time?

  I use IIlustrator CC 18.1.0 and when I use Image Trace the 'threshold' slider disappeared. It was in fact the single setting more important for this tool. Is it hidden somewhere? I've attached a screen shot of my Trace of the Image window.

  I have a problem I did the research for some time and have yet to find something that works. If someone could help me with some suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

  I'm looking for a simple method quickly convert all filled with symbols and characters to the described features. I have a lot of files similar to this one, so I hope its something I can repeat easily.

  The problem is that each character or symbol is not a simple filling. Instead, the filling consists of many forms. Each form has its own plan. It is therefore very difficult convert the image in all the theoretical outlines of characters and symbols.

  You first need to describe everything. Faster is to flatten transparency via the command in the menu object. Check the features of text and the Contour contour. After this "fusion".

  You can:

  (1) copy the path shown vascular accident brain and hide the original until done;

  (2) direct select and delete the end segments.

  (3) create a mixture of 1 step the rest in front of some parts of it.

  (4) object > blend > expand.

  (5) remove the unwanted paths.

  Now you can view the original form described again.

  I've recently updated to an iMac, retina 5K and the colors in the printed images do not match the colors of the image on the screen. I use CS6 and the screenshot below shows that, in the window of the print settings CS6 image does not match the image of origin either, the original image on the left.  I've updated all print drivers, and the images are also too green/faded when I print them, or download them on Animoto or Mpixpro.  We tried a Spyder calibration system, and that did not help.  For now, I have to make a folder separate with "twisted" images that have increased the saturation and Communists to give them a normal appearance.  Does anyone else have this problem?

  

  Unless you have a current color profile for the display you are using and you have calibrated the printer for the specific of ink and paper that you are using, its not surprising there are differences. Without a color managed workflow screen and software have no information on what the printer can produce.

  The range Spyder products are not up to the task.

  The normal options for managing your color workflow are:

  1. using the X-Rite i1 photo system,

  2. purchase of a custom profile for your type of printer, paper and ink, done by a specialist in color management

  3 - Send your files to a professional lab that is capable of producing quality work.
