Transfer of data and programs from old computer to new

Is it possible to transfer all my programs and files from my old computer (windows 7) to my new (windows 8)?

You cannot transfer programs, but you can backup your personal files using Windows Easy Transfer and restore it on the new computer.

Well, the simplest would be a backup image.

    I m using a 3rd party software. It s a Norton Ghost.
This tool allows you to create an image of you HARD drive or simple partitions.
I created an image file and stored on the external HARD drive.

Then, I installed the new OS on the laptop, installed Norton Ghost and used the external HARD disk image file to restore all the files and programs again.

But you don't need t to use the ghost there are many other applications to create an own google simple image

No, it won't, it will transfer personal files and settings. You will have to reinstall your applications from the original installation files or install CDs and DVDs.

If you really want to move your applications to the Vista computer, you will need to buy a commercial programs such as Laplink PC Mover that will allow you to move your programs:

How can I transfer my files, data, & programs from old pc to new pc windows 7?

You can use the program built into Windows easy transfer of files. You can transfer the network drive or USB transfer cable.

However, your programs will be transferred not on, only your files and settings. Your programs will need to be reinstalled by using the installation media (CD, etc.).
Some programs can be transferred using the paid version of PCMover, a program designed for migration to new platforms.
  • Transfer of PSE 5.0 from old computer to new computer?

I have PSE 5.0 installed on my old laptop but I am now the purchase of a new laptop computer and want to transfer it to my new. I still have the serial key but I've used the two installs so I need to 'turn off' the key to my old laptop to install in my new. I understand that help > deactivate function is only for the newer versions of PSE so I was wondering if I should uninstall PSE to my old laptop, which would free the serial key? Or y at - it another way I should go about it?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can install on another computer. The software does not limit you.

The license says you are allowed two facilities at the same time, for your own personal use (which seems not to allow your computer brothers), but the software does not have this.

  • transfer from old computer to new computer

After buying a new computer, what would be the things that need to be transferred from my old computer to my new computer?

for example, do my emails that I don't want to delete, should be transferred?  What about icons that are stored on my desk?

    photos should be transferred?

the main issue would be, fault must be transferred and what can I still access my new computer without having to transfer?

All this depends on your specific situation.  For example, I use Outlook.com for my e-mail service.  So if I get a new computer or my current computer falls at the bottom of my truck, I don't have to worry: all my email is online and can be accessed on any new computer as soon as I login.

It is also why I store all my important files on OneDrive.com too.  In this way, that I have never actually transfer anything.

Icons stored on your desktop would probably not be able to be transferred directly, you must reinstall the programs on your new computer.

    Thank you, Gilbert.

Whence the content come of for example you have the music on the iPad, and if so is sometimes copied from CDs? You can copy purchases on iTunes from your computer via file > devices > transfer purchases, make a backup of the iPad, and restore this backup on the new iPad (music, videos, etc. is copied from the iTunes library, not the actual backup, so you will need these items in the iTunes library).

  • Transfer the creative cloud from old computer to new computer

I have recently got a new laptop and I try to transfer photoshop and lightroom (plan of creative photography cloud) from the old computer to the new... How can I go about it.  I paid for an annual subscription.

You do not transfer the Adobe applications/licenses between machines - it won't work.  You must install using installation files.

Download/install the desktop application, connect and install applications subscription.

  • transfer from old computer to new software

Three years ago, I bought Adobe Creative Suite 4, design premium student edition. I have a new laptop and I was wondering if there is a way to transfer this old to my new computer software, it must be used on the old computer.

Also, how much money would the upgrade to the latest version of the software (student edition)? Because I can consider this option if the price is not too heavy, or the first option is not possible.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

    Hi the znfjbsol,.

To transfer the software, you just need to install it on the new machine. If you have already installed the software on two machines, then you will need to disable the software on any of the machine before installing it on the 3rd machine. To deactivate, launch the software / go to help and click on disable.

You can download the retail version of CS4 from here: http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html .

Please follow the very important instructions before downloading.

    Kind regards

  • transfer the license CC from old computer to new computer?

I currently use two machines, one Adobe desktop applications when I'm at my office and another, when I'm at home. (I would turn off the need.)

I now have a new PC at my office that I would use. What should I do to transfer my apps and licenses to my new machine?

(I tried to download and install on my new machine, but the best I get is trials).

just install the application of cc on your new desktop computer and use it to install your programs.

If you have already done this, log out and then back to your cc desktop application using the correct adobe id.

Check your account indicates the subscriptions that you expect (and that the adobe, used in the next step id is correct) by logging in here and checking the status of your subscription, https://www.adobe.com/account.html

then, if it's current, disconnect and then back to your client application using the adobe with the link above in cc id: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/sign-in-out-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

  • Movement 11 Acrobat license from old computer to new

I have Adobe Acrobat 11, bought in March 2013.  My computer has been damaged and I had to buy a new one.  Can I transfer the license of Acrobat 11 from the old computer to the new?

You don't have to transfer it.  But you can disable it on the old machine if it is still possible, so that you keep the option for a second activation of machine.

Adobe allows you to install/activate on two machines, then you can just install on the new machine as long as you have the second always available activation.
