Transparent desktop icons

I recently removed a diversion from my computer program (ran Malwarebytes), but the program hijack has been my desktop icons and "hidden" folders  If I enable the "Show hidden files and folders", I can see them, but my dekstop look transparent icons. When I try to do a system restore, it allows me to select an earlier date to restore, but nothing happens after I click Next.  What is the problem with my computer?

Choose your icons, right click and properties, uncheck the hidden file?

To restore, disconnect and apply and Enable to remove all the restore point. Have your infection infect your restore point.

  • Desktop icon text boxes are blue highlighted

original title: the desktop icon text box

The text under my desktop icons are highlighted in a blue rectangle.  How do I get the highlighted blue and rectangle to disappear?  It was clear a few days ago.

Do a net search for "icons transparent Alan Edwards" and you will always find the answer for this quickly.  Here is the answer to the problem:

    1. Control Panel-System-Advanced-Performance settings.
Check "Shadows fall to use the desktop icon labels" on the display
    Effects tab.

2 - Click on Desktop - "arrange icons by" and ensure the lock Web
    items is disabled.

    3. transparency will not work if you have the web content on your desktop.
Control panel - display properties Desktop tab - customize the Office-

    4. ensure that the wallpaper is an image file no HTML.

  • How can I change the the font color of desktop icons?

Specifically, the color behind the text of the icons.

(a picture of my desk for clarity)

When I pass on my screen at my own default image, the text under the icons no longer have the background transparent, but is a dark gray color.

How do I get this to be transparent?
    Thank you.

If it was clear before, it is the most likely cause of the problem:

    • Transparency is disabled if the image is a specific type of image (for example, if it is a PNG image instead of a bitmap file).  This is the best way to change:

      1. open the image file with paint.  Choose file > save as.
      2. before recording, change the type of file in JPG or JPEG Image.
3 - right click on the newly saved file and "set as wallpaper".

If this does not work, another thing to try is:

    • Right click on "My Computer", and then select Properties.
    • On the Advanced tab, click the first settings button (for execution).
    • In the list, make sure that it is enabled: "Shadows fall to use the desktop icon labels" (this is the 2nd to last option).

  • Remove Desktop Icon shortcut arrow without creating a black square problem

I found the following on the web to make the desktop icons disappear (they are transparent rather).  However, it has created a new problem; black square after turning on the laptop the next day.  Black squares did not show up on top of each simple desktop icon, but it's quite a few of them.  I was able to get rid of the black squares by reversing what has been created in the registry keys. but of course the arrows are back.  I don't want to.

    1. press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box, type regeditand press ENTER.

2 in regedit, navigate to the location below:
NOTE: If Shell icons is not in the left pane under the Solution Explorer, right-click on Explorerand click New and key. Type of the Shell icons for the new key name, and then press enter.

    Code:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Icons

3 in the right pane of Shell Icons, right-click on an empty area, click/click on New and string valueand name it 29.

4 double click on/tap on the value of sting 29 to change.

5 type the full path of the custom file .ico in quotes, OR copy and paste the path below for which overlay icon you want to use and click / press OK.

    (Transparent) %windir%\System32\shell32.dll,50

    (Small arrow) %windir%\System32\shell32.dll,29

    (Large arrow) %windir%\System32\imageres.dll,154

6 newspaper market, or restart the computer to apply.

  • Desktop icon question - great, WLAN icon on the desktop

original title: the desktop icon question

Last night my laptop automatically downloaded updates for Microsoft Windows 7. This morning he said updates installed and starts normally. However, I now have an 'icon' large, transparent, non-interactive in the form a tower with the title "WLAN" stuck to a place on the left side of my desk. I didn't notice at first but after my internet started, realized quickly that it was there. This "icon" does not disappear any application, I opened. After searching the Web for what it might be, I scanned my computer with an analysis of the software and programs malware/dracovenii (suggestion) I am free with happiness at the same time my antivirus favorite. I checked to see if it was a widget/gadget and it isn't. I continued to control internet, microsoft.com, and asus technical forums to see no answers to my dilemma. If anyone has an idea of what it is and whether it can be removed, I would be grateful for the help.

After some research, I went to my control panel > programs > seen the installed updates and check my recent updates, since I am very sure that they were the cause of my problem.

After looking for Microsoft. com with codes of 3 security update that has been installed recently, I came to the conclusion that the update of KB2552343 was the update that has the problem of the "ghost WLAN icon.

So I uninstalled this update, and I turned off my automatic installation of the feature updates in my windows update program. I now put to download updates and install them manually.

I hope that everything that has the problem in the first place is fixed with a future update, because I prefer to have all updates automatically downloaded and installed security. More information on my computer that is its a K61 series laptop Asus K61IC.

Thanks again for all your time and I am very happy that I could solve this problem myself and others provide assistance to its subject.

  • Why, suddenly, my desktop icons are difficult to align because they can be moved very small distances?

For years, my desktop icons have acted as if they have so many 'slots' to enter in on the office. But this has never been a problem. They were easier to align because they were right next to each other, or a 'slot' above/below/apart.

Now, for some reason, I can travel distances of small icons on the desktop, as if they were scalar elements which can be minimally pushed open. Suddenly there are not more "slots", and sort of paradoxically icons are more difficult to assemble and align because I have to keep their repositioning so that they are straight. Before, they were either straight, or a whole notch offline.

It is NOT correct. Right-click and select Show , and then turn on Align

I guess that you don't want an AppleScript object parked on your desktop or Dock that someone could run to display the icons on your desktop. • Desktop icons disappear

Having just downloaded the latest Firefox update (I'm on the beta channel), as soon as it restarts, five of my desktop icons disappeared. I have more than 60 icons on my desktop and I don't remember what they are. Is it possible to know what icons have disappeared and the recovery please?

    Hi markyb208,

I'm not sure what you have a problem with Firefox.

Are you talking about icons on your Windows 7 desktop. In a standard installation, Firefox will try to add an icon on the desktop, but it shouldn't do something to remove the icons.
