• Convert a PSD in transparent SVG (for eBooks)?

  Hi people!

  I worked on an e-book, in which I wanted to insert a few pages of scores I had scanned, and I divided the music in individual measures (i.e. "lines of music", if you are not familiar with the terminology of music) to make a separate graph. On the MobileReads forum (for epublishers, etc.), it was suggested that the best way to get something like that would be the SVG format (as opposed to JPEG or PNG or GIF format), but I had a heck of a time trying to get things out right. I use Photoshop/Illustrator CS6, incidentally (and have the full Design Studio).

  There are a few questions that I have been struggling with...

  First of all, for the life of me I can't seem to get my transparent PSD out like a transparent SVG - in fact, I can't even the PSD to retain its transparency (not that I "see", anyway) even just opening in Illustrator, never mind when I "save under" as an SVG. Although my original PSD is essentially a raster file (that is, a layer of my scanned scores, with another layer of text), I managed to understand how to use the 'Trace Image' function to convert it to vector (I used the option "16 colors"), then "recorded under ' SVG, but no matter what I try I can't be transparent (i.e. (, partitions and the text, but with no background)!

  Second, the size of the files seems excessively high. If I create a simple PNG image of my picture (which I have no problem make it transparent), it comes out as a simple 18 k, but saves as SVG, it is almost 20 x the file size, to settle at a whopping 325 k! I looked at all the options in the "Save as" dialogue (SVG), but most is meaningless for me - surely there must be a way to keep the file up to a minimum size?

  Finally, searching everywhere on the web for an answer to this, I saw reference to make a 'Save for Web and Devices' option, where so-called SVG is one of the formats you can choose here - in Photoshop or in Illustrator don't have I that, however, I don't have that 'save for Web', and SVG is not an option in there. Is 'Save for Web and Devices' come only after CS6?

  Matrix product almost always below the vector standards. Composed of too many items with too many anchor points. Of course, this makes flie large enough size. PNG can be effectively compressedrather using limited color palettes, while vector graphics can not be compressed below a certain amount of data. Positions of anchors must be stored somewhere.

  Hey everyone, great novice here.  I'm doing a flyer in inDesign and for the background image, I copied a picture that I converted mainly to "bluescale" in Illustrator by changing the colors.  Now when I try to draw a line or shape above, they all show transparent (see attached image), instead of being informed.  When delete or toggle the visibility of the image, all right.  How can I get the lines or solidly filled in forms?

  

  A line at random, I'm drawing, for example.  Does not appear in the dark.

  Also check the effects > blending mode.

• svg background not seen in browsers

  Hello

  I build this Web site via Dreamweaver: regenerative dog Center in Maine . I'm posting on one of my domains until I get all the kinks developed, then it will load up on the area suitable.

  My problem is that all of my .svg files are not displayed in all browsers.  If (in Dreamweaver), I save everything, then preview in the browser, these .svgs display beautifully in Safari, Chrome and Firefox.  However once he was transferred, it does appear in one of these browsers.  I have the .svgs as background images.  I looked at several sites CSS and I think I do things properly, but clearly, I'm not.

  Could someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

  Note - the .svgs are:

  (1) the logo in the header to the left of my tag h1 dog Rehabilitation Center of Maine

  (2) top of each tabbed browsers, but moving to hover

  (3) in the foot, I have a FaceBook logo to the right of the text.

  I really want to keep them as .svgs, vs png.  I have a lot of hours in just this little aspect, because I think that is what is important.

  I use Dreamweaver to manage my website.  It comes to my files (F8) Panel developed and connected to the remote server.  public_html is my root directory of the site.  Notice that all my files from the site and the files are inside this directory public_html.  See screenshot.  You must move the site folders in the public_html directory.

  I had this problem since upgrade to 2015 CC. I'm building an image with a transparent background in Photoshop. I have to save it as a PSD or PNG (to keep transparency). Here's the problem: when I drag or place PSD or PNG in an Illustrator file, the background is not transparent, it is white. I have bumble my way through the preferences in Illustrator and Photoshop - no luck.

  The bottom must be a solid color that is not part of the object. In the color scheme in the web dialog box save for you can set to transparency.

  I have a slideshow in Muse and I would like to make the background behind the slightly transparent captions. The problem is, when I use the normal cursor 'opacity' BOTH the text and the background become slightly transparent. I need the text to remain opaque. Is it possible to do?

  Yes, select the box containing the captions and the fill tool allows to set the opacity (see the screenshot):

  I would have used a mask similar to what you were doing, but pse 7 doesn't have a layer mask unless you use an action add-on or script.

  Using a mask layer, borrowed from an adjustment layer seems to not quite work in a case like this.

  The logo could use some darkening (as you did with threshold) according to preferences.

• Cannot change the part of the transparent GIF background

  I'm using Fireworks CS3 (Windows).

  I started with 3 elements - logo, text "WISR" and text "Announcements" - and created a PNG file (see below and attached files).

  I'm changing the background behind the logo and the text "WISR" to be transparent, but it won't change - he's stuck on white (FFFFFF).

  Note: The area behind the 'announcements' text is set to transparent.

  Any ideas on how to change the entire background transparent?

  Try to see if it's ok now with the file attached. I didn't remove the white background with the magic wand... it takes all now transparent

  Is it possible to make the background color of a transparent cfchart? I limit myself to the visible (part of the pie) chart, with no current background color. If I had to get out a Flash file that I would use the wmode parameter to make the background transparent, but I don't know that cfchart/cfchartseries can do as well?

  I thought about it. At least for pie charts. You will need to use a custom style and change the output array to add "wmode".

  Directions for use:
  1. a copy of "C:\ColdFusion8\charting\styles\default_pie.xml" and save it in the same directory as your script cfm as 'transparent_pie.xml '.
  2. Add the 'background' property to the bottom of the file

• Start menu text is transparent, the background graphics are showing through

  Writing in my Start menu becomes transparent from time to time.

  As you can see, text against a black information seems normal, but in a lighter context, it is of course transparent.

  Disable the transparency of the window does nothing but change the whole theme solves the problem.

  I use Windows 7 Professional. My graphics drivers are the latest Nvidia ones (195.62 WHQL).

  Next time, when it happens maybe you can try to circumvent the problem to the function of the unique aspect. (Right click on computer > properties > in the left pane: advanced system settings > Advanced tab > section Performance: settings... > try to disable one by one)

• Transparent background back to white on save

  I'll get right to the point. I can use one of the "stuff" that I learned to turn a white background in a transparent; previously, I used to be able to save the image under any type of image format (JPG, TIFF, etc.), and the background transparent would remain. As of today, I save an image with a transparent background, and the background immediately reverts to white. What has changed? What I am doing wrong? And above all, how can I fix? I am so angry!

  Here is a way I used to change a white background to transparent:

  1. open the image in PS CC.

  2 duplicate the image and get trash the original layer; This opens the layer.

  3. in the double layer (only one left), use the Magic Eraser to make transparent white background.

  Here's another way, I used to change a white background to transparent:

  3. go to layer > layer Style > blending Options.

  4. under 'Blend if', slide it ' this layer: "cursor to that all white becomes transparent, without compromising the actual image.

  5. click on OK.

  Using one of these methods, if I save the image under a non-rast image (JPG, TIFF, etc.), the transparent background back to white! Extremely frustrating. I must point out several facts about my use of the PS CC:

  a. I'm * brand * new PS CC; I used it for a little less than a month.

  b. I use PS CC on Windows 7 Pro.

  c. I rebooted my PC and restarted PS CC. Several times.

  d. the problem above has never happened until today. Before, I was able to save the image under a rasterized shape and the transparent background remained. Not so much anymore.

  e. I * can * save the image as an image PS CC (*.psd) and remains the background transparent. This does not help, as most of the programs that I am paid to use in my daily work do not import * images psd.

  The search for an answer direct and helpful from a well informed guru.

  If you need to preserve trasparences in another program, I suggest you use the PNG, transparency should be recognized. What program you need to import the image in?

  When you see a background in Photoshop, it may not be transparent, single layer can have transparency. Background isn't a leyer, even if you see it in the layer panel.

  Double click on background and will convert them in a blanket all Layer 0. Now you can create any form of transparency with the tools you want.

  But when it comes to logos, Photoshop is the wrong choice. You should do logos in Illustrator, not in Photoshop.
