Tried to change the Bootcamp Partition, now I can't load Windows.
Hello
After trying to change my Bootcamp partition, I'm more able to start Windows. If I restart and hold option, I get only the Mac drive. However, I can still find the content of my Windows disk in the finder. Please can someone explain how I can get it back?
I have a Mac running OS X El Capitan 10.11.2. I don't know what other information is needed, so please tell me and I can answer. Thank you very much.
What changes did you make to the partition of BC? Can you post the output of the following commands in OS X Terminal?
diskutil list
Cs diskutil list
sudo TPG - vv - r see the/dev/disk0
sudo fdisk/dev/disk0
The "sudo" commands will prompt to enter your password, and there do not appear to come back. You can also see caution against improper use 'sudo' and the potential loss of data due to an "abuse" of the order.

Tried to increase the bootcamp partition and now Windows will not boot
I've got Yosemite.
I wanted to increase the size of my bootcamp windows partition, so I searched for a way online, and I found this video:https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=zhkdOLXT6Eg
I followed all the steps in the video, but after you have started and to complete the process of the Minitool partition Wizard I got this screen:
http://i.imgur.com/bRnDQuJ.jpg
This is what looks like my disk utility:
https://i.gyazo.com/ee9967fc7ac9a2d1ad9afc5cde2f3529.PNG
It seems that free space is always there
Is there a way to fix this?
MiniTool is not recommended because it causes problems and can lead to data loss.
OS X Terminal please after the release of the following OS X Terminal commands. Enter your password when you are prompted by the command 'sudo '.
diskutil list
Cs diskutil list
sudo TPG - vv - r see the/dev/disk0
sudo fdisk/dev/disk0
Do not change the partitioning information any more, otherwise, you will lose your Windows data permanently.

Download the drivers from this link below (first or second file listed - 32 or 64 bit depending on the case).
Copy the files to a flash usb without all the folders drive.
With the flash player and the installation of W7 media connected to the computer, boot from the installation of W7 media.
After selecting the install now option, select the training - Advanced menu, Options and select the option load a driver.
You should now see the storage driver files listed.
If you check the box, it only includes the compatible driver.
Follow the prompts and I hope, will install W7.

Replace my motherboard because of the storm, and now I can't activate Windows.
Activation support
My motherboard has been zapped during a storm, so I had to replace the RAM, PSU and video card. Everything is almost up and running, but now Windows wonder (because of hardware changes) to activate my copy of the operating system. He also told me that my PID has expired. Hard drives have not changed, only the above.
I bought a family pack of Windows 7 Home Premium at Amazon in 2009 and installed on three computers that I have at home. Now, due to the change of equipment, it is not allowing me to enter the product key, I used when I first installed.
Is a number or a resource that I can turn support free online?
Windows 7 Home Premium Family Pack is a upgrade license, which means you must have a license of previous qualifying installed on the disk. If the previous qualification license you had installed before the upgrade to Home Premium Family Pack in the old computer's preinstalled with it, this is why you see this message now.
Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.
When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer
Click on properties
Scroll down to the Windows Activation
Click the link x days before activation.
Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.
Enter the product key
Click next
Select the Activation of the phone
Click Next when you enter your key page
Select your country
Click Next, call the number listed
Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.
Provide the installation generated when ID requested by the call agent
They give a confirmation ID in return, enter it
Click next to complete the activation.
However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.
15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.
So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

I created a partition (accidentally) and now I can't load Bootcamp at startup.
Here's the story. I tried to enlarge my Bootcamp partition, but I accidentally did was to create a THIRD partition of its own. I deleted this partition later, but now when I start the computer and hold down the "Alt/Option" I get two options: my Mac and a recovery drive - no more than Bootcamp. So, what's the problem? Here is a screenshot of what I did when I created this third partition:
I thought that I me adding to the 45 GB but I see that it was actually creating a new partition.
I still see Bootcamp in my finder and I can even see it when I click on "Startup disk" in system preferences.
But when I click on "Restart" on Bootcamp, it opens with an error: "no boot device - insert boot disk and press any".
So what did I problem and how can I fix it, guys?
I literally does exactly the same thing you did today and Im having the same issue.

How to change the bootable partition? __
I have 5 Partition on my hard - 2 system partitions and 3 extended partitions drive. I install windows 7 in the 2nd partition system, such as installation of windows 7 is 'disk error' for the 1st partition system. But before windows 7 was in 1st partition.
Now when I format 1st Windows system partition is not to start at all.
So I try 'Start Up Repair' using Windows 7 DVD. I havet find installing Windows 7 successfully, but it cannot solve the problem.
I use ""bootrec.exe/fixmbr ' and "bootrec.exe/fixboot" advance Service Options console repair using Windows 7 DVD. "
Please tell me that I change the partition bootable C: to another drive (for example, D: or e :)).
[When you use Windows XP, I use fixboot
(like fixboot G :) to change the partition bootable. )]Y at - it such a command or option to do so. ]
Hey Divinemoon,
Try changing the partition Active of C on the second system partition where Windows 7 is installed so that when the computer starts, it loads the appropriate operating system. After you change the active partition, perform the Startup Repair.
a. Open command prompt in Windows recovery menu.
Reference: What are the system recovery options in Windows Vista?
a. type diskpart in command prompt.
b. at the DiskPart prompt, type in disk list. You will see the list of drives currently connected to your computer.
c. now type in select disk n, where n is the disk number. In this example, disk 0 is selected.
d. now that correct drive is selected, type in the partition from the list for a list of all partitions on that disk.
(e) to select the partition that you want to set as active, type select partition n, where n is the partition number.
f. now that you have selected the disk and partition, mark it as active by typing the word active simply pressing ENTER. Now, the partition is set to active.
g. out of the command prompt and run the Startup Repair tool. Reference: Startup Repair: frequently asked questions
This should be it.

original title: Windows Mail ate my file
I opened a word from Windows Mail document, changed using Word 2007, you press on save and close the document. Now I can not find where he saved. I tried the search function in Vista, but it can not find the file either. I tried to re - open the file in the email, but I just get the original version. Can anyone suggest where it might be?
Thank you very much

Once you open a Word attachment in an email, you must save it to your HARD drive until you make changes. If you do not, the changes are lost, but the original attachment is still with the e-mail.

A few months ago, I created a Windows 8 bootcamp partition, and then, I updated for Windows 10 without any problem. But I no longer need and I would attribute this space to OS X. The problem is when I try to remove it from the app of Bootcamp, I get this message: "the startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition. The startup disk must be formatted in a single volume in Mac OS extended (journaled) or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant to install Windows. »
It comes to the current state of the hard drive:
You have an idea? Thanks for the help.
I finally solved it. It seems that I had a not mounted partition which it has not been used. I removed it and it solved all the problems:

I used my iMac as a hard drive backup to my macbook once. Now when I update to El Capitan he says that it cannot be updated due to being of a backup. How do I change the drive mode so I can update?
If you use your iMac as a backup to disk using Time Machine look for a folder called Backups.backupdb.
It's what keeps you upgraded your operating system, you must remove it.
Copy everything first if you are on a different drive. It would be wise to create a backup of the iMac on another drive also.
Check system preferences > Time Machine and make sure that the iMac is not selected as the Time Machine drive.
