  I crossed my fingers and did a clean uninstall of sp3. to my surprise two hours + processors cfm with no crash. - YAY finally and not 10 min don't crash whith no record.

  Spec: MacBook Pro 2014, El Capitan, work outside of an external hard drive where the catalog and the images are stored.

  1. Images imported into folders to LR5.
  2. Has begun whereby I wanted to later work on tagging images.
  3. Go to a specific group of images and LR5 crashes.
  4. All the updates installed in El Capitan.
  5. LR5 freezes and the Mac crashes at the same series of images.
  6. Upgrade to LR6.
  7. Updates installed to LR6.
  8. May cross and works on all the images, until I get to this specific set of images and LR6 blocks now.
  9. Optimized catalog, created a backup.

  What now? LR6 not like photographs taken in Tangier?

  I fixed it, and if anyone is interested, I did the following:

  First off I ran Mac Diagnostics (on the advice of DJs) see this link here: using Apple Diagnostics - Apple Support

  This gave me the clear at all so I thought that maybe it's a bad sector according to the intuition of DJs. That came as a clearly too.

  I thought to use the backup drive I and did the following which solved the problem.

  1. Usually, I have two disks (named differently, 'work' and 'save') mounted two exact copies of the same photographs and catalogues.
  2. Open LR with the reader of 'Work' and then closed, ensuring that I was not on the photos folder which is the source of the problems. When I closed LR, I did a backup and optimized catalog.
  3. Copy the catalog LR 'Work' to the 'Backup '.
  4. Unmount the drive of 'work '.
  5. Open LR - LR will not find the catalogue so he asks where he can find or create a new catalog.
  6. Point LR to the backup and catalogue.
  7. Go to the folder that is the source of the problems and erase the pictures off LR (not the hard drive)
  8. Close LR and create a backup and optimize the catalog.
  9. Go back to 'work' and copy the catalog 'backup' to 'work '.
  10. Open LR, ensuring what he now seeks the catalogue in 'Work' rather than 'Backup '.
  11. Now re - import the images in the folder.
  12. Close LR and backup catalog.

  The error STOP: 0x000000F4 can occur for several reasons. There are many reasons why your system may crash because of these screens to stop errors\Blue.
