Now able to use the main admin connection, however PC remains disconnected from the web.  Nothing I can put my finger, but the PC does not not like before.  Suspect damaged due to XP files by Auger or cleaning utilities.  Y at - there a utility that can check the integrity of the XP removal or is a scrub & charging necessary?

Hi NoelJohnston,

·          What are the issues on the computer after removing the Trojan computer virus?

I suggest that scan you SFC on the computer that would be a system file corrupt on the computer search and replace.

The analysis may take some time, so be patient. Windows allows to fix corrupt or missing files it finds. If the information of the installation CD is required to fix the problem, you may be asked to insert your Windows XP installation CD.

    Hi all

I can aparently stop XP Pro SP3 Desktop PC but they start all on their own. The only thing that has changed is that I had to replace my router yesterday as my old one had suddenly stopped working.

I have three of these Machines XP Pro that all do the same thing!

Can anyone offer any suggestions to help me find why this would suddenly happen?

    Thank you in anticipation

    Hi ElderL,

Thank you for taking the time to read my request for help and advice as well as for your answer which was more useful.

The problem has been resolved. Basically, I tried what you said, a local network of disconnected machines cable and that it does not then restart on its own.

Rather than deepen each machine BIOS I asked the router manufacturer if they could offer no explanation.

NETGEAR responded and I followed the instructions which were to download a more recent version of the Firmware on the router (they sent me a link to make it go away) then to do a reset of the router and then re install. Since doing so stop now this set of the PC until we press the start button to launch their new.

I must say I was a little surprised that Netgear was able to offer this much more recent firmware as I had already used the routers built in firmware update installations when I first set up the router. He installed a firmware update and then tells me that there were no new versions available when I checked again.

Thanks for your help and I hope this information is useful to others in the future.

    Kind regards

    Barney

Since it is a Dell computer, chances are a Norton or McAfee free trial is preinstalled. When you have done the clean install, the free trialware would have ALSO reinstalled (but not valid now).  Let's see if the execution of two removal tools & a few tweaks resolves the behavior.

  • Re-installing xp-pro/sp3 with repair option, breaks down, unable to activate XP,

Initially, it was suggested that I use the original installation CD to reinstall my copy of XP/Pro on my laptop.
original problem was that my wifi card would not work.  Not at all.

In any case, I read not (before..) to save files of activation from the directory windows\system32 (wpa.dbl) of the system, (ugh...)

I started in cd, said install,.
He finds a partition (d:\windows), set up a repair

Then they gave me the following loverly error message:

and no, I can't in 'normal' mode or in safe mode, but I can switch to trunk/command line mode.

Now. I also followed an article of $ m to try to disable cause scripts preventing activation of the race.

SO no I'm up the proverbial Creek without a paddle, as the system starts.

    Help, please...

(I did however save the wpa.dbl dating back to 2008 (and restored the just), then maybe it stops at least again... auto-redémarrer)
just rebooted in 'normal' mode, once again, and he says:
Yes, the reviews, but just reset the system again...

    Help?

at least if I could get in turn on in safe mode, I might be able to solve this problem...

Finally I was able to solve the problem of Windows Product Activation. It's a long story, which might have summer cut short with good knowledge about the system so I'll share some thoughts and I hope to help someone else.

No doubt - a new clean install of Windows XP may be the best option to choose, and the quickest way to walk for a Windows XP system work - that is, not talk about data and especially - applications that need to be reinstalled, reactivated, configured, customized, etc.. That's exactly, what held me to the top of a table shaved installation of Windows XP.

This fixation error is pretty easy, if you know what to do - find out what actually works, yet. As some of you may have experienced, even Ctrl + Alt + Del and the Task Manager are out of the picture. Curiously, after having the system sitting there for a while, I noticed that the timer is still running. And this knowledge has created an opportunity access key.

I went back and started Windows XP mode safe mode with command prompt. Note: This is the only boot option, you have to access the system as an administrator (Safe Mode or the network will not work, because they both rely on Explorer [the office], which does not either.) Therefore, work with the command prompt. Once you have access to it, you can access the Scheduler with "AT". I downloaded "MS_WindowsXP_KeyUpdateTool_enu.exe" Microsoft web site and set the Scheduler to run this application. I then rebooted the system in normal startup mode. Once the error message comes up again (what was expected after login), I chose 'Yes', which we know is not anything but do not register a new. After some time, the recording of "MS_WindowsXP_KeyUpdateTool_enu.exe" window came and gave me the opportunity to enter the product key Windows XP system. After I had re-recorded with success, I had to reboot and the system is running.

Please keep in mind that some services were still not running. The automatic update of windows would not start or the BITS (Background Intelligent Transfer) service, which is required to run Windows updates successfully. To fix that, I did an energetic reapply Windows XP SP3, which fixed nearly all the questions and the known system was running like a charm. I did have to worry about data or programs that had to be reinstalled and reconfigured custom. Any income in the order as expected.

    Good luck to all!

A reboot is probably a good idea after each intervention.

Now connect to windows update manually through your browser using the shortcut in the start menu link and your chances are better that it will work.

When the latest version of windows and to connect to Windows Update will detect the old version of Windows update agent installed update agent will be installed after consenting to the ActiveX installation.  It will be the first thing that happens when connecting to Windows update if things continue normally.

Tried to install MP11, met validation error. A ran MGADiag, said the invalid product key. I was in a maze without end of the screen trying to figure out how to solve this problem, but struck out. Can someone help out me of this mess? Thank you.

There is NO valid key on any Windows drive - with the exception of the right brand OEM disc for your machine.

Another key found in or on a disk is invalid.

Are only valid keys (with the exception of Volume license keys)...

    (1) on the COA sticker on the case of the machine

    (2) on the label inside the packaging in which detail records (full or upgrade) are provided.
