Trunk between SRW2048

Hi all, I need to put a trunk between two SRW2048 connected via a fiber link, in order to leave a vlan to share between them.  My configuration is: switch A: - default untagged VLAN 1 - 10 of VLAN ID custom, named "wifi" - port 47-online fiber, defined as 'trunk', the two Vlan 1 and 10 are joined with the trunk - port 11: I want that he the VLAN 10, in order to see the 11 switch switch B: - by default without tag VLAN 1 - port custom VLAN ID 10 named "wifi" - port 48-online fiber, defined as 'trunk', the two Vlan 1 and 10 are joined with the trunk - port 11: I want the VLAN 10, to see the way 11 switch has tried to set the two port 11 mode "general", tag, joined only in VLAN 10, but I could not bind on the optical fiber. I tried many configurations for the two port 11, but they does not work. I think the 48 and 47 of fiber ports configurations are ok.  I hope you can help me thank you Alessandro Note:-yesterday I updated both firmwares to 1.2.2d; After that, I have an error in recording 'VLAN of Ports' setting on both switches. I check all the parameters. They seems ok, but this page (and only this) gives this error: line = 1 Type = unknown value = null value error diagnosis = may be lack of parameters (join1) in the page.  -I turned the 'enable 802. 1 x' flag on 'Security' => "' 802.1 x Settings"-I'm not using GVRP; " When I join the port to VLAN it gives me an error 'web' on Internet Explorer version 6 and 8, and I'm not able to reach the ports of vlan. On the other hand, I see the VLAN custom between switches only if I attach somethings to 11 ports (I use a dhcp server on one port and dhcp on another client).

Only, I was struggling with today myself. That's what I had to do to get the VLAN on the trunk ports between SRW2048 and a SLM2024. Make the port numbers to the top, but you get the idea.

SRW2048

1-12 of Harbour = VLAN 1

13-15 = port 3 VLAN, unidentified, mode = generally accept the type of weft = all, pvid 3

40-43 = 2 port VLAN, unidentified, mode = generally accept the type of weft = all, pvid 2

Port 47/48 = VLAN1, 2, 3 VLAN Trunk port = port should be vlan1, 2, 3 has joined to make you think it's the tag for 2.3 (check it, I'm 100% I added the and when I checked once again, they were gone.) "I think that changes to other environments will remove them?)

SLM2024

1-10 = VLAN 1

14 = 3 VLAN, unidentified, mode = generally accept the type of weft = all, pvid 3

16-18 = 2 VLANS, unidentified, mode = generally accept the frame type = alll, pvid 2

12 (Trunk port) Add VLAN 1,2,3 with 2.3 tagged port

Setup like that I could get access to all three VLANS on the trunk.

    Hello world

The trunk is in place, but I have the following problem: I can ring since an EX90 recorded on the VCS for a registered on the CUCM 9951 but when I take the call, I have a busy signals (audio and video). When I on the EX90 9951 ring, I have the following message on VC: can not reach the contact.

I have a 503 service unavailable status on the call history and "call rejected" on the event log.

    Hello

Yes, it's true! It seems at first glance a problem with codec negotiation when I see the reason 47 code.

in any case set the region to G.711 trunk phone in case if you have different device pool and the trunk region and ip-phones.

make G.711 end to end and test again.

  • VLAN Trunking between 6248 and 2848

    Hello

I have a Powerconnect 6248 switch connected to a 2848 and I try to get a VLAN on the 2848.

VLAN working and properly receive DHCP addresses, traffic lanes and DNS runs on the 6248.

The Protocol DHCP, DNS server is connected to port 1 on the 6248.

When I create a Trunk port on 3 the 6248 Port, allow all VLANS through it, creating a trunk on port 1 of the 2848 on VLAN10 and try to plug in devices inside, they can see all other devices connected to the L3 switch.

The two switches are running the latest firmware and the L3 on his own works as expected. I can't get any kind of circuits working at L2, tried with normal cable and crossover switch.

Here is the config of the L3 6248. Switch 2848 L2 has a blank canvas with 10 VLANS created on ports 1,2,3,4 with port 1 as the trunk port installation.

Any ideas pleeease? Anyone? It drives me crazy.

After turning off spanning tree on the 2848, all works now.

    VLAN, trunking everything.

    Thanks for the help! :)

I hope that if someone else can use what it took me ages to develop. I plugged on Netgear switches etc and they seem to work.

The issue was going on between the dell 6248 and 2848, Spanning tree is enabled on the default 2848. If I was going to the Netgear via the 6248, then at the 2848 switches worked.

My config on the l3 also works very well if someone would use :)

  • Vlan trunk between switches traffic encryption

    Hello

Can someone guide me to some documents and other resources on how to encrypt the traffic between 2 switches. The switchces will be connected with fiber and use the marking dot-1 q. And I wan't to encrypt all traffic to shared resources.

I was thinking about L2TP, but I have not found a good description on how to implement this. I have two 3750 switches, I thought I could use.

    Thank you for any input,

    Kind regards

    Hello

Thanks for the reply. I had a look at effect and it seems good. I would have liked to use something P2P but also limit the amount of MAC addresses on the "wire". But let me first give you an understanding of the task:

We have two sites, linked by fiber, and we want to create a trunk VLAN everywhere and to expand the broadcast domains to you another site.

The carrier FOOL, has a limitation on the number of MAC addresses, they allow the service to fiber, 100.

We also encrypt the datatraversing this connectivity.

MACsec wuold work 100% exept the source and dstination MAC addresses are still sent (at least according to https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&q=cache:LEf2qOmYZyYJ:www.ieee802.org/1/files/public/docs2011/bn-hutchison-macsec-sample-packets-0511.pdf+&hl=en&gl=za&pid=bl&srcid=ADGEESgmAHXpDOY0RBAE-Rv1HDpu_C_gkeSPN4cv6NGgyP0M1aXVu0UqzCfxo8t_P41ep6J37k4OLKnjfp1M9hoTDHxY22WGz2h7yB7YRLyPvRUbGS8TICzvEMlG92xqbhy6RWFugmnj&sig=AHIEtbTfu0LQIJejdYidE6yzq4lpPifxjQ
    )

And who tempt me to eat in the limit of MAC 100.

Ridiculous I know, but we are looking for an out-of-the-norm plan...

    Thank you

  • Setting up QoS on SGE2010 to support VoIP trunks between PBX

People, I'm stumped on how to configure QoS on my SGE2010 in support of my Toshiba CIX PBX VoIP trunks.  The infrastructure is simple:

    PBX (1)<==>SGE2010 (1)<==>SGE2010 (2)<==>SGE2010 (3)<==>PBX (2)

where PBX (1) and PBX (2) are connected by three SGE2010 which are resources shared via fiber between the buildings.  I have not combined VoIP and are on their own VIRTUAL local area network switch.  All the rest was child's play in these switches but I have no experience with QoS and does not help the Administrator's guide.

    Jim

    Hi Jim,.

The QoS of basic service should be everything you need for the switch. QoS works for traffic of penetration only. Basic behavior dictates QoS, if you upstream assigned QoS, the switch will approve the values as is. If there is no QoS upstream, the traffic of penetration will be marked according to how the traffic is classified. All output of the switchport traffic will not be noticed.

On a dish network, 1 vlan, the default CoS value untagged 0, what is relevant for the packages. You can change these values from 1 to 7 for the traffic untagged. That reference the charts CoS for values of 1 through 7 in average.

Strict priority for QoS queue will depend on how the traffic is marked. With strict priority, the highest value traffic will be allocated first on the output port. So you should drop.

The part that most have problems with the DSCP values. These are defined on the DSCP to queue. You will notice a queue next to a DSCP brand. This traffic is ranked on that contains the package. Voice traffic typically DSCP 46, which by default has a line higher, I think that 3 by default. The switch will put the DSCP value for the traffic of penetration or trust the brand of penetration. But it will not note traffic out.

I hope that clarifies a bit your request.

  • Has anyone set up a trunk between switches PowerConnect 2716 and Intellinet 523554?

I have a client who has three switches Intellinet 523554 in the core switches and various on the edge, including a PowerConnect 2716 switch. The firewall is a Sonicwall, which is plugged into one of the Intellinet switches, and there are three new SonicPoints that plug in the PowerConnect switch. To the best of my knowledge, even if X 0 (LAN) and X 2 (WLAN) are related to the SonicWall, I need to keep these separate networks. If I plug them both in the VLAN 1, network crashes (I presume due to a storm of broadcasting). On all switches, I created 2 VLANS, left 1 VLAN not identified and configured the appropriate access and if necessary junction ports. Two types of switches use the web-based configuration and it is just not a lot of parameters to be set. VLAN 1 traffic goes OK on the trunk, but VLAN 2 does not work. I'm not familiar with the configuration of the Intellinet switches, so I sent an email into their support. Unfortunately, for the chutes, that's what the rest of the world calls aggregation of links, so I have no help from them yet. I am quite confident that the configuration is as good as it can get.

Has anyone else tried this and been successful? Any thoughts? The PowerConnect switch runs 1.0.1.07 firmware. Thank you

  • SRI G2s trunk between enhanced EtherSwitch modules?

I used enhanced Etherswitch modules before but never in the way I think a solution for a customer.

They want a data center in a solution so I spec'ing on 1 3945 with UCS, CUCME, unit, etc. plus a 24 ports PoE Etherswitch)

    SM-ES3G-24-P)

    .

For server redundancy, I put in a router 2921 with a blade of UCS and another 24 ports PoE Etherswitch.

My question is this.  I can build and SVI on both routers to say VLAN20 running HSRP and then the trunk 2 routers together using a port on the Etherswitches just as I would do if I had a couple of normal switches?  Or if this configuration is not supported?

My goal is to try to design a solution using only the routers without buying different external switches but the Etherswitches 2 in the router will have to shared resources and talk just like 2 external switches might.

    Thanks for any help!

  • 802 1 q trunk between ESX server and router Cisco

    Hello team.

I want to create 3 VLANs on my server ESXi, each with 2 VMS and these VLAN transported by an external Cisco "router on a stick", that is to say router with a configured ethernet wth 3 subinterfaces, each of them for each of VLAN (IP subnets) inside the ESXi server.

I built the following image to explain my purpose. First it is possible to implement on ESXi? I guess it is.

    Advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Best regards, Rogelio ([email protected])

It will work very well. Ive done a similar thing in the past, but rather than use sub interfaces I used Lass rather on a layer 3 switch.

    Any ideas?

Because the SRW is now part of Cisco Small Business, it would probably be best to ask the Cisco Small Business support community. You find people from Cisco over there.

For SRW configuration, you added the two VLANS to your trunk ports? Configuration of a port in trunk mode adds automatically that all configured VLAN to the trunk.

I have two SRW2048. One in each building. I am running 2VLANS on both. I start to run in the time lag between the switches. How can I set up a bridge between them. I put 2 CAT5E cables between them. Is there a way to stick them together. How do I set up to run the two VLAN on them.

    There are two things:

    1. you need a trunk between two switches. A trunk is a connection which can carry several VLANS. A VLAN is untagged others are 802. 1 q tagged. This way both sides can identify him VLAN that belongs to each image. The connection port must be configured the same on both sides.

    2. you can do aggregation to join several physical ports into a single logical port. Need to redo the same on both sides.

So what you do is the following:

    A. you choose a set of ports for the aggregation of links, for example 1 & 2 on the first switch and ports 47 & 48 on the second switch. You create a group of aggregation of links on the two switches for these two ports.

    B. configure you ports grouped on the two switches in the trunk on the management page mode for VLAN. Generally, the value default VLAN 1 is untagged trunk of a member. You also add your two VLAN or the remaining tag to this trunk.

Once you have done all your VLAN must be able to communicate between the two switches. Using the OFFSET, you can have more bandwidth 1000 Mbps on this link.

  • Problems with SIP Trunk (an audio course)

    Hello world!

Our client is testing a new implementation of SIP with a different ISP trunk.

They have a SIP between a Cisco 2911 and ISP trunk to access the PSTN and a H323 trunk between CUCM worm 7.1.3.30000 - 1 good routing of calls to the Cisco2911 gateway.

Here you have the Cisco 2911 configuration:

    =====================

Well, we can set up incoming and outgoing calls with no problems during this test phase, but we will succeed voice entering.

We don't have voices coming out of the voice gateway.

We checked with the ISP and we see the RTP of ISPS to Cisco 2911Voice gateway traffic, but we did not see packets RTP voice to the ISP gateway.

In fact, it was not all RTP packets arriving at the voice gateway on the internal network.

    Might be a routing problem?

Internal CUCM and phones require Ip routing SIP from the ISP server access? If I understand correctly the devices internal only need to know how to get to the voice gateway Cisco2911, so it can function as a Proxy traffic and route to the SIP server?

    Thank you

In addition to the comments of Chris,

    1. There is a routing problem: IP phones should see the route to the ISP, even if they are inside a NAT.

    2. If you want that:

-Just IP phones reach the 2911 and IP of 2911 present the call to the ISP.

    -the Loopback0 bring the H323

    - And the int GigabitEth 0/0 for the SIP

    then

Configure the 2911 as a CUBE in path mode

    Use the redirection ip2ip

    Configure dspfarm on the 2911

    3 also check this:

If you have not seen all the voice gateway to ISP RTP packets

    Then

-Check if the transport of the ISP session is TCP or UDP.

    -Set up a GUY on the 2911 to check the communication between the {2911 and ISP} and {2911 and CCM}

    Kind regards

    Antra

  • No TCP between hosts, ping works fine

I have ESXi installed on a Dell C524-TY with two NIC 5 and you have set up several Solaris 10 upgrade 10 physical hosts and VIRTUAL LAN interfaces. There are two Cisco switches between the NETWORK card with the installation of trunk between them and the server ports. The physical interfaces have connectivity through the switches VLAN 1, ssh, ping, etc. Interfaces VLANS are configured for VLAN 2000 and I cannot ping between them, no problem, but ssh or any kind of TCP connection just times out. I can also ping between installation interface VLAN (SVI) on the switches and telnet from one switch to another, and ping the virtual servers. When I run a snoop I see TCP request to arrive but they come from different IP addresses, which is attributed.

    On the receiving host:

On the ESXi server, I have a group configuration of virtual ports for each interface that allows all the VLAN (VLAN ID: ALL (4095)).

Here is the relevant switch configuration:

    SW1

    interface FastEthernet0/1

    Description == servers VMWare * DON'T CHANGE *.

    switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

    switchport mode trunk

    !

    interface FastEthernet0/19

If anyone can help me with why my VLAN cannot establish a TCP connection, I'd be really grateful, I was pulling my hair out.

    Thank you

We just lived this witch hunt.

Our fix was to use rather than e1000g0 vmxnet3 adapters.

    Hope this helps

  • Ethernet VMware with Cisco EtherChannel and Trunking Question

    Hello

Trying to get our etherchannels works correctly with our network administrator. Here is our config with a few questions.

    1. as it is to create the trunk between switch and host directly, can I use spanning tree portfast chest edge ?

    2. when don't we use no ip address and when not for this configuration? I see online showing examples with and without it.

    3. in some articles, he described in access mode , while in others he said dot1q trunk mode. See here for the access mode. Admin think it should use dot1q.

4 Etherchannel is fully support and preferred extending from links on maps, right? Not all of the links on the same card?

5 is this the case in order to change the load balancing algorithm in vmware first or first to the work of cisco? I did first vmware. (IP-hash)

    It's on a series with 4 cards/blades 6500 switch.

Wow Josh. If only you had written documentation. That's the trouble with him. People like me get final instructions, because we're not the guys from network 24 x 7. Great documentation would be layout, the reasons to go this way or that way you did just. That being said, here's my summary based on this discussion.

    1. we have several VLANS that descends from 3 links on the etherchannel. Thus, we should use mode trunk because there is not a single.

    2. we have an another etherchannel with just 1 vlan (vmotion), but in all of two links. This should be the access mode. Or is it still trunk because it's the multiple links?

    3. I don't know what crash dump logger is, or how it applies to my situation.

    5. I don't know if our switch would deliver on that port. How can I tell? At this moment I have switchport setting in there.

    Thank you!

No problem for reference, the other question of documentation is one of the languages. Their word etherchannel on HP networking hardware, 'trunk' and has nothing to do with the discussion of port "access vs circuit", which they call "tag unidentified vs.

    1 Yes

    2. you would certainly make an access port.

    3. If your server never begins to have a problem with break, VMware can a copy of the accident for the debug log. You can see an article on setting up here: put in place the collector of Dump ESXi 5.0 | VMware vSphere Blog - VMware Blogs.

  • Cannot set trunk on my virtual switch port

    Hi all

I have setup a host ESX VM 2 and a virtual switch (vSwitch0). Each VM has 2 vNIC (Admin and Public). I created 2 groups of ports on vSwitch0 with VLAN ID 2 (Admin: Public and 10:20).

So that each vNIC VM goes to a VLAN. Now I want to create a trunk between my vSwitch and my physical switch.

I set up the trunk of the physical switch port but I have not found how to set up the trunk on the vSwitch0.

    You can guide me please!

    Thank you.

Welcoem to the Forums - there is nothing you need to do - it's automatically handles by the VMkernel - circulating packets throw vmnic0 will be approriately tag to each vlan 10, vlan 20 or unmarked for console, vmkernel and service traffic
