Hello
Can you tell us what your help program to print these PDF files? Adobe reader for example? The version of the program will help also greatly as well.Try this just in case where you use Adobe reader x.Open a PDF document. And to the toolbar above, select Edition, then Preferences. In the left pane, select 'General '.On the right side down, you will see an entry for 'Enable Protected Mode at startup,' with a checkbox next to it. Clear this check box, and then click ok. Try to print now and see if it works. If you don't have Adobe reader X, let me know what you have and I'll try to help more. -

Unable to connect to a printer Brother MFC - 240 c to Windows 7 computer network
The computer of my network which is connected directly to the internet and my router is a computer running Windows Vista (32 bit). My computer is connected through the network to access the internet and the printer connected to the computer base. My computer was also under Vista and networking has worked well.
I installed Windows 7 (64-bit, not by choice, done automatically) on my computer and now I can't connect to the printer on the Vista machine. I can access the internet (even if it is significantly slower than when I had vista) and on basic computer file sharing, but I can not configure the printer. The printer is a Brother MFC - 240 c
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.Thank you
I'm assuming you get an error indicating that the print driver for 64-bit is not installed in the Vista machine. You can either install a 64-bit driver that has the same name as the x 86 driver on the Win7 machine printing and reattempt the connection, install the 64-bit driver that has the same name on the Vista computer (for other 64-bit machines), but it's more difficult.
Alternatively, you can set the machine to check Windows Update for a printer driver that has the same name as the 32-bit print driver. If gpedit.mcs run for the version of Windows you have.

Have a read of the link above re Vista file and printer sharing.
Permissions/Share info is there as well.
If you use Norton, McAfee, Trend Micro or Kaspersky I.S., make that file and printer sharing is enabled in THE Firewall (or LAN enabled, depending on how their Exceptions are formulated in their firewall)

Adding data sources on the Windows Vista-based computer
I have ColdFusion on my local workstation and I'm looking to add a data source by using the administrator Web site. It worked perfectly on my previous XP machine, but it does not work on my new Windows Vista machine. The data source is a Microsoft Access database stored locally on the c:\ drive. After clicking on the "send" button, the site administrator returns this error message:
Cannot update the NT registry.
DRIVERPATH variable is not defined.
Any ideas? Thank you!TorreyBrown wrote:

-Try the CF 8 'Scorpio' beta from http://labs.adobe.com/
-use a database that works with the driver of JDBC Type 4 over TCP/IP
-use a supported operating systemJochem

I have problems printing with my Brother MFC 7840W. The printer has been installed and uninstalled several times and drivers have. I always have unexplained mixed fonts & print sizes that appear in printed documents. It doesn't matter whether they are word documents or another program. It is not the document! This has been verified repeatedly. Computer experts maintain that it is a matter of Vista. Help!
All-in-one printer, Brother MFC-7840W
Hello
- If it works well before?
- If so, what were the changes made before the issue started?
You can try to create a new user account and check. If it works in a new user account, then probably your user account have been damaged and would need a fix.
Create a user profile.

All-in-one printer, Brother MFC-9700

How do you know if you have Windows 32 or 64-bit
Start > right click on computer
Select Properties
Under system, you will see listed Windows 32-bit or 64-bit
32-bit applications can run on 64-bit systems, but not vice versa
When you run older applications, you should consider the installation of XP Mode with Virtual PC for Windows 7 (free)
http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/Virtual-PC/Download.aspx
It's as easy as 1-2-3
Update of Brother MFC-9700 downloads - I suggest that you always go here looking for drivers. You want to maybe create a folder and make the backup copies of the software.

I have installed the Brother MFC-495CW printer on my laptop and the printer does not print. It shows the printer either 'ready' but 'offline' on the screeen status monitor.
