    Hello

    You mean SP1?

Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > see if you have Vista 32 bit or Vista 64-bit installed.

It will also tell you here what Service Packs, if any, are already installed.

Then, choose the download of 'bit' OK to use to install Service Packs, first of all the installation of SP1.

  • Accidentally installed a clean Windows Vista 64-bit version when my computer is running 32-bit.

I wanted to do a clean install of my Windows Vista. I had my manufacturer installation cd but didn't know that they put two in the package. Thinking that they only gave me one and only good cd I just jumped it withou double check and guess what it was that bad. Now, nothing works as it is not installed the proper drivers. Help! Is there a way to fix this? I have the correct installation cd but my cd drive is not workingand I can't online. Is it possible to connect to another computer so that I can get online to download the drivers and then reinstall? Is there a way to get to my score? When I look at the recovery disk folder there is nothing in it. I'm not the most computer savy as you can guess very well but I take directions well.

Just a few troubleshooting steps to see if the drive is bad or if the DVD player is bad:

    1. If you have another DVD player available try to use this drive in your computer instead.

    2. If you have another computer available, try the disc of Windows 7 by using this computer and see if it can read the disc, or if the disc cannot be read and is bad.

    If the drive is bad:

To replace the installation discs for the manufacturer of the computer:

Contact the OEM computer manufacturer and ask them to send you an installation to your computer disk - they may charge a small fee. Contact information for the manufacturer of your computer can be found here:

  • Impossible to install KB2931354 on Windows Vista 32-bit SP2

Done through Windows Update, it fails with the error code 80070027.  In fact with the patch downloaded Windows6. 0-KB2931354-x 86.msu, it fails with "the following updates were not installed: update security for Windows (KB980842).

To resolve this problem, I tried:

    Method 1 - restart.

Method 2 - Start the computer in safe mode with networking support. This computer is connected to a network (do not use a modem) and Windows Update does not load in safe mode with networking support.

Method 3 - perform a clean boot the computer, and then install the update.

Method 4 - temporarily disable spyware and antivirus software.

Method 5 - temporarily disable firewalls.

    Resolutions in https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/kb/971058

Method 1 - automatically reset the Windows Update components with the download of Microsoft Fixit.  I ran it several times until all problem areas shows a checkmark as being corrected.

Method 2 - manually reset the Windows Update components.  All steps have been completed successfully, with the exception of the appidsvc to stop (step 2 - error was that the service did not exist), registration dll (step 6) and install the latest Windows (c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll) Update Agent (step 11 - no standalone download, it does not exist for Vista but c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll is the latest version - 7.6.7600.256).

Upon registration of the dll, a long list could not be saved.  Browseui.dll qmgr.dll and mshtml.dll, shdocvw.dll failed with the error 'the module was loaded but the entry point DllRegisterServer was not found' and msxml.dll, gpkcsp.dll, sccbase.dll, slbcsp.dll, initpki.dll, wuaueng1.dll, c:\windows\system32\dllcache\wucltui.dll, wuweb.dll, c:\windows\system32\muweb.dll, failed with the error "failed to load module.

Method 1 - Download and install the updates manually.

Method 2 - remove earlier versions of the .NET Framework and then install all versions of the .NET Framework.

Due to the KB980842 error when you try to patch manually, I also tried to look to the top of this Knowledge Base article.  He referenced KB982533 - who had a patch.  When I tried to apply the Windows6 file. 0-KB982533-x 86.msu, the error was "this update does not apply to your system.

I also applied Windows6. 0-KB947821-v35-x 86.msu (System for Windows Vista Update Readiness Tool).  That has been recommended as a possible solution in one of the pages on the repair of Windows Update - I do not remember now that one.

At this point, Google and me are ideas.

Solved by formatting and reinstalling Windows Vista.

  • I'm trying to re - install my for windows vista 32 bit synaptics pointing device, but my device manager does not display any device and keeps bring up the keyboard to the screen as how to fix this?

I tried to install a driver for it but I find only 64 and 86 bit drivers. Sometimes my keyboard is not typing all letters I am getting tye (type) or like this for example. Someone at - it help me fix this please. I really want to get this computer working again.

Your keyboard might not be hitting the correct letters (typing lertters numbers) because your shift caps lock is enabled (the led is green), to disable it on a portable computer, press on the 'fn + caps lk' keys at the same time, the green light should turn off.

Your system is 32-bit if you need marked x 86 driver (it's actually 32-bit, there is no system of 86 bit).

For you On - Screen Keyboard, check if it is automatically configured to start whenever you open a session:

Go to the Control Panel, easy access, less "explore all settings', click on 'Use the computer without a mouse or keyboard', click on the box in front of"Use on-screen Keyboard"to uncheck if its active.

  • I have to reformat I can use transfer from windows 7 64 bit for windows vista 64-bit

I have a few problems and have to reformat my desktop computer. I can't save anything, but I have most of my files and folders transferred to my new laptop. My question is, the Office has a VISTA 64 bit OS and the laptop has a 64-bit WINDOWS 7 OS. Can I use easy transfer to trans iron files & back files of the laptop on the desk.

    Thank you

    PETER

    Hi Peter,.

Windows Easy Transfer generally works from a lower to a higher version of Windows or the same version of windows.

You can try to download the Windows Vista 64 - bit easy transfer and try to transfer the files and folders and check if it works. If it does not from Windows 7 to Vista, then you must manually copy the files and folders using USB drives.

For more information, you can consult the following articles.

I don't think that Vista will support the latest version of iTunes, which is necessary for the latest version of iOS. I will check something quick and get back to you. What iPhone do you have? What happens when you try to download the latest version?

  • Cannot install drivers for nothing - Windows Vista 64-bit

I have a laptop Dell - Inspiron, with Windows Vista 64-bit. I just bought a HP Deskjet 3054 A multifunction printer and my computer will not install the drivers.  I had a Canon printer and had removed all software before you try to add the HP.  I even tried to reinstall, and each time to get a message to both say he is unable to install the drivers.  I currently have a windows update waiting for an update for the processor intel and it also will not be installed. This problem does not seem to be specific to the device, but rather a problem with Windows Vista and after reading a lot of discussion seems to be common.  But I still have no idea how to fix this.

Have you tried to delete the file INFCACHE.1? Deleting the file INFCACHE.1 will force Windows to rebuild the file INFCACHE.1 next time window is looking for drivers.

  • Windows Vista (32 bit) stops responding after installing the program...

    Hello.

Recently, my Dell XPS M1530 (Windows Vista 32-bit) has been extinguished during the execution of the system updates (we had a power outage during the night and I didn't) and would only start in safe mode. I moved all my documents on a portable HARD drive and reinstalled the operating system to try to save the computer.

After I did that and reinstalled the drivers (downloaded from the Dell site via my system identification label), I started to load my programs on it (Adobe, Microsoft Office, etc.). After I install a program and exit the installation window, Vista stops responding. I can't click on the Start button (the mouse will go over it, but it does not allow me to select) or one of the other button I have in my toolbar. I can't click anything in the Dock of Dell at the top of my screen, either.

The only way to turn off the computer must press and hold the Power button until the laptop turns off. I HATE doing this, but there is no other way to turn it off once a program has been installed.

Any thoughts on what is happening here? I hope this is just some kind of error on my part - I can't afford to get a new machine. I wanted to upgrade to Windows 7 (my machine can handle), but I don't want the same problem occurs.

Thanks for your help in advance!

    Hello

As you re-installed Windows and the problem persists the rules well enough software. The power
failure should be accompanied by a power surge or other that has caused a problem in the computer.

Makes it sound like there are hardware problems that can probably be repaired. Have you looked at the system
