  Are you referring to InDesign CS?  If Yes, then you should be able to install the software on your new computer.  Is that InDesign CS2 (4.0) where the activation technology has been introduced.

  If your copy of XP OEM means it was pre-installed on your old computer, you won't be able to use it on your new computer, because it is related to this specific computer only.

  If your copy of XP was a commercial copy full that was purchased, then you can use it on your new computer.

The license I have for CS6 is for two computers however I use the second connection on another device. Is there a way I can uninstall the software of a dead computer and reinstall it on the new without the use of a DVD player?
