Try to get a new graphics card to work...

I have a GeForce GT of 640 that I try to install in my office p7-1414.  Problem is it seems to have some sort of conflict with the integrated graphics card, as when it is installed in the slot of PCIx16, NONE of the screens will be exploited.

It doesn't seem to be a way to disable the onboard graphics via the BIOS (AMI Bios 8.04), and I know that the card works as it still works with the office, that I recently tried to replace.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion p7-1414. According to specifications, your system comes from the factory with a 300 Watt power supply. Review the specifications for graphics cards of TG 640 indicates they generally recommend a minimum of 350 watts system power supply. Although this is not the only problem, it's a start. There is no option in the BIOS to disable the onboard graphics on board, as this is done automatically when a PCIe x 16 card into the PCIe x 16 slot.

    Hello

As far as I know, this topic has already been discussed here in the forum and the switch between internal and external ATI GPU is not supported.
Just designed by nVidia Optimus technology is supported
So you can switch between the GPU from Intel and nVidia (if both would support Optimus technology)

    That's why I'm asking here:

where can I buy such a grafic card - or: is there another (better) available grafic card which correspond to this laptop?

I hope you people can help me with my disaster :(

    Hi mate.

Unfortunately, you can not replace the graphics card.
If the graphics card is dead, then the whole motherboard must be replaced.

It s is no more possible to upgrade the GPU chip. It s simply welded on the map and there is no chance to remove it.

If you are sure that your graphics card is dead, then you'll need for the new motherboard which is not good cheap 100%

  • New graphics card = CPU fan speed is going mental

Recently, I bought a HP p6319uk and received a Sapphire Radeon 5870 as a gift. I bought a new power supply (Corsair TX-850) and install two components yesterday. Now, whenever the PC is turned on, the CPU fan seems to work to full skin and noise is simply too hard to use the device comfortably. The machine also seems to work very well.

I was check autour online and most of these sorts of problems seem to be resolved via the BIOS, but I checked it (after downloading the latest version) and I don't see all the settings that involve fans.

    Help?

    Rick

Are you sure that the fan noise is the CPU fan?  It could be the GPU fan you hear.  I would try to remove the new graphics card first.  If the noise is still there, then try the PS.  One of those new things may have changed the way the system works.  If the noise is still there, take a look at the junction between the CPU and the heatsink.  It could be the heat sink has been moved or dislodged when the other components have been changed. And it is causing the thermal sensor on the processor to ask for more cooling, because it's hot.

I'm not familiar with current PC for sale, regarding upgrades.  Since is considered a new HP, try looking at the list of options on the HP website.  Most higher end PC have the options that you choose before buy you, to customize the generation.  Choose a model with options that match your criteria now and notice the upgrade options - write down them - to avoid confusion later.  OR go with a customized version, but this could mean significant spending.  It is the hand off the coast between prebuilts and personalized.

  • Is satellite A10 - possible to install the new graphics card?

    Hello

I have a videocard Satelite A10, 2.2 Ghz, 712 MB of RAM, provided with your computer.

I just bought the Sims 2 and thought from the specifications that I would be able to play on my current card. However when I try to run it it gets to the intro screen and then hangs when it is ready to go into the Menu. My first impressions are that I don't have a pretty good graphics card.

I need a 32 MB T & L capable card so can someone confirm if this is why it would not work on the system.

If that's the case I'm looking to see if it is possible to install a new graphics card on the machine I want to play more games to date.

the map I'm looking at is Sapphire ATI Radeon 9600 XT 256 MB AGP8X graphics card. It will work on the machine and it is likely to solve my problem?

    Thank you

    HI Jeff,

In General, it is not possible to change the graphics card in your laptop. This is because the graphics cell are generally not a component separated (as with a normal PC), but generally a specific graphic chip attached to the motherboard so make the graphics a part of the laptop.

At the same time, the graphics driver is normally a specially modified version will omit some of the more esoteric aspects of the normal driver to minimize the risk of overheating chip since it does not have its own cooling system. Given this, you will find probably than trying to load the latest graphic website manufacturers drivers (Nvidia, ATI, etc.) will not work, and you will therefore be limited to these pilots provided by Toshiba on their Web site.

In order to get your copy of the SIMS 2 to run you need to omit or reduce some of the graphics settings in the game itself, or alternatively, you can try to use some of the graphics third-party drivers that are written to provide some of the omitted features of the original notebook drivers. Note that if you do that there is no guarantee that they won't cause your overheating graphics chip, even if I used the ATI Omega drivers for some time now without any problems. You can get them: -.

  • New graphics card issues.

Hello everyone. I intend to put in order a new 970 GTX soon but before I do, I have some question if all goes well a kind of knowledgeable people can answer. Right now I use a GTX 750 ti superclocked. This one to be exact.

Before going I should post my listing so you can help me better.

I use a Dell Inspiron 3847 desktop computer

    Operating system
    8.1 Windows 64-bit

    CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT
    Intel Core i5 4460 3,20 GHz 28 ° C

    Motherboard
    Dell Inc. 088DT1 (CPU 1) 28 ° C

    Graphics

    2047 MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti (EVGA) 29 ° C

    Storage

    Optical drives
    Virtual DiscSoft SCSI CdRom Device
    MATSHITA DVD +-RW SW830

    Audio
    Razer Surround Audio Controller

My first question is, what I intend on getting this new 970 GTX,

(I hope I write these link correctly, because they look weird in this post ATM heh)

The problem is that you can see here in this thread,

The desktop computer Dell Inspiron 3847 isn't that much room for graphics cards. That's why I'm going for the compact size ones. Now in this thread according to the OP, fortunately the big card bought winter sports. Now, the concern that I have with the card I want to order is not the length, but the height.

I have both the card Op ordered are about 4.38 in height. The card I want to order is 4.80 in height. Even if I know the length it should make sense, so I need to know its not too big. I know this may not seem like a big difference to some, but I'm still very new for PC parts and everything.

My first experience out of integrated graphics has been a few months when I ordered and installed a new graphics card and power supply. I sure hope I have though because I can barely play dragon age: origins on medium setting without it hanging out outside sometimes, and it's a game older for my card so Idk why she did this. Maybe I did something wrong? I hope not.

So I hope that maybe someone with the same office or someone who is familiar with the desktop area could tell me if the card could hold, if it's all GOOD (the one that won't break after two weeks) 970 GTX which CAN would be awesome. I know the one that fit the OP in this thread has ordered, but some of the comments say scary things so idk. I'll definitely get a damage protection plan.

Before my second question I'd like having this one ended. Its simple but it depends on the card I order.

To all of you who took the time to read all this to try to help me, thank you so much in advance.

ASUS GTX970 - DCMOC - 4GD5 GeForce GTX 970 4 GB 256 - Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP video card as shown in your link, should keep the Inspiron 3847 MT chassis very well, but you will need to replace the power supply, because this card requires an additional power connector 8 pin EPS and a 500w/600w PSU, instead of the default 300w unit.

Note: As the card is a unit of double width, you lose using the PCIe x 1 next to the card slot.

  • Do I need a new graphics card

I have a HP Pavilion Slimline s3400f running Windows 7 32 bit.  I have a HP x 2301 monitor.  I need a new graphics card to take advantage of the speed of 3 ms of the monitor?  I can renovate such a card?

    Hello

Very nice monitor. The HP Slimline s3400f PC has only a power of 160 watts power is a big problem for the addition of a discrete video card that would allow you to use digital instead of analog video video.  You will see an improvement in the quality of the image with the digital video.

It is possible to replace the power supply and add it to a profile low low-power video card.

Contact Athena and get a recommendation of the PSU. HP Slimline power of Athena. There are also mini-ATX converter cable.  If you get a 220 watt PSU then the below video cards should work.

Look here in HP Partsurfer for video cards that are used in the new Slimline models with a 220 Watt power supply.  These cards have been made specifically for the HP Slimline PC with a 220 watt power supply.

  • new graphics card for a desktop Pavilion p6657c PC

This computer has a 250 watt power supply. I want to get a new video card with more specialized memory (1gig) to accelerate a business program. The operating system is windows 7. CPU is AMDAthlon II x 2 220. It came with an nvidia GeForce 6150SE nForce 430, with 256 MB of memory dedicated.

All I can say is that people have added this card on power supply less than 300W.

You can take the risk or not.  Your choice.  I can't tell you what will happen in your specific PC, because I don't know what other material there.

Personally, I think that the card will work fine, or I would not have recommended it.

Manufacturer of the video card normally overestimated the supply needs of power for their video cards, so they don't get a lot of complaints from people saying that their video card blew their power supplies, etc.

For example... I use an AMD Radeon HD graphic card 6670 in my HP 8200 Elite CMT PC business.  The card called 66 Watts max.

AMD said that you need a 400W power supply and my PC has a 320W power.  It's a 80 Watt shortfall.

I ran it like that for 3 years with no problems whatsoever.

I have two AMD Radeon HD 6570 in 2 other of my business office.  AMD says that you need a power of 400 Watt for those too, and I've been running both of these other PC with 320 W P/S for the same all about 3 years with no problems at all.

HP offered the AMD Radeon HD 6450 in the 8200 Elite small form Factor PC, which has only a 240W PSU. AMD says you need a 400W power supply to run this card.  See page 2 of the PC data page and page 15 for graphics cards offered in the form factors.

    http://WWW8.HP.com/h20195/v2/GetDocument.aspx?DocName=c04313388

This is the power of AMD for the HD 6450 requirements... see the support topic.

    http://www.AMD.com/en-us/products/graphics/Desktop/6000/6450#

If you're still skeptical, I recommend that you either upgrade your diet (I've never done such an update, so I can't help you there), or the use of this handy power supply calculator which will estimate the power supply necessary based on the video card you want and the hardware on your PC.

I bet you will see that he comes up with a value less than 300W.

  • My new graphics card

Hello, I recently bought a new graphics card (EVGA GTX 660 SC 2 GB), it was my first time that I ever changed a computer and I had no idea how much research and time that you had to put in to see if your computer is compatible with the graphics card, you buy, then when he arrived I sent it to a store to get mounted and the man who was normal he said that power is not enough to manage the graphics card, so he tried with better food and still there is no possitive results so I was wondering if you could check my pc and see if a 660 GTX would be compatible with my PC Thank YOU! :

  • Pavilion p6 - 2020t: HP-Pavilion will identify the new graphics card

    Hello

I got a HP Pavilion for a few years now and never updated my BIOS (not that I know well). I'm trying to install a new graphics (gtx 750ti) card and the computer does not recognize it. It shows the first screen, and then a black screen and a beep, then it crashes. Keyboard does not work, cannot get into the BIOS.

I tried everythign with current BIOS, boot legacy and ensuring that the Integrated GPU is disabled, and nothing works. I also did research on food, and but it is not terrible, it should work with this graphics card (the fan even spinning).

According to my research, the current BIOS is simply not recognize, and I need to update. My current version is: FRIEND 7.16, 05/10/2011

I navagate through the HP website and it said that the automatic update should update the BIOS for Windows 10, and it won't let me download all drivers (although the last BIOS update was 2011). I tried to enter the FRIEND's site and download it from there and it won't even install their drivers, it says that flash is not supported (probably for Windows 10).

If someone could give me an idea of how can I get a newer version of the BIOS for my motherboard, it would be much appreciated as I'm pretty sure that's the reason why the computer is not recognizing the new graphics card

The risk is that the video card is one that is for a newer PC with an EFI BIOS. That's why the empty card is not recognized.

If you use a card equipped with a switch on the virtual card allowing the use in legacy and uefi BIOS it will work with the BIOS of your PC.

Sapphire makes video cards that have this capability. Take a look at the catalogue. What you need is a PCIE x 16 card video with switchable legacy\uefi BIOS or legacy support, but not only UEFI.

    http://www.sapphiretech.com/catapage_tech.asp?cataid=8 & lang = eng

You cannot change the type of BIOS that your PC has in the UEFI.  It's a question of his being of a generation of diferent from the PC.

  • No Signal after installing new graphics card

Hello and thank you in advance for your help!

We have a 2 years old HP p6540y.  It has an ATI video card integrated. When we recently turned on, we got a message "no signal" on the monitor and then he'd go to sleep.  We tried many things to fix... listed below, in order and are always the same message.  Please advise!

    (1) No Signal: DVI, VGA, HDMI.  So we unplugged and rebooted, no change.

    (2) checked monitor and DVI & VGA cables with another computer: they all work.

    (3) installed new graphics card: NVIDIA GEForce GT 610.  Still got same message "no signal".

    (4) we plugged/unplugged all the other cards/cords / no matter what we could and cleaned.  Then, finally, the monitor turned on! But not for long...

    (5) after you restart the computer after installation of the graphics card driver, we got the 'no signal' message again.  We released once more, other cards/sheets and again once the monitor and the computer came to life.

    (6) we uninstalled the ATI integrated graphics card.  When we go to display, Advanced Options, he mentions our new NVIDIA as graphic/video card.

    (7) we turned computer off during the night and this morning when we have lit, we once agin got the message "no signal".  We have unplugged/plugged computer several times.  Also tried the trick with cards/plugs by pulling and we have nothing.  No Signal.  After doing this several times (about 10), he is finally working again.

    (8) we changed the sleep settings to: screen saver = never; Standby mode = never.

    (9) we restarted again to get once more no signal message.

    So... what should we do?

    Thank you very much!

    Triusa, welcome to the forum.

I think that your problem is caused by the power supply unit (PSU).  Here's a guide to help you solve the problem:

Also, the existing PSU is 250W.  The 610 GT requires a minimum of 300W.
