Try to get the old software to work on Windows 7

I am trying to run old software on my Windows 7 PC. It's a language program that was given to me recently. When I insert the disc and try to run the program I get the following error message. "the version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are using. Check your computer's system information to see if you need a x 86 (32 bit) or x 64 (64-bit) version of the program and then contact the software publisher. "Then I tried to run the program in compatibility mode with the two 95, 98, 2000 and Windows XP however whenever I test with one of these compatibilities nothing happens. Then once I have troubleshoot it tells me I have a question that is "Application Incompatible." Is there anything else I can try to get the program to work?

Hello

If you have Windows 7 Professional or ultimate, you can try XP mode...

I had a crash and had to reinstall.

You must get this patched SP3 first machine.

Uninstall Internet Explorer 8 and Internet Explorer 7--> you back all the way back to Internet Explorer 6 before continuing (if necessary).

Get SP2 (manually) and save it to your desktop. (There's a link here.) [You are a COMPUTER professional for now.]

    Install it.

Then restart at least a couple of times for a few minutes between each restart.

  • Is there a way to get the old Office mate (Clippy) in Windows 7?

I hate to be "Clippy" (or is this Clippie?) of XP and I would like to know if there is a way to get the old Office Assistant in Win7.

They were actually disabled in 2001 with the implementation of 'Microsoft Office XP' and completely deleted for good at the end 2002 with the release of Microsoft Office 2003.

You can restore to 2003 with some changes to the system registry and the replacement of prudent file, but it is not supported.  And this can be done at all in Office 2007 with impatience.
  • How to get to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic to work on Windows 7?

I have a laptop with the following configuration:

    Installed memory (RAM): 2.00 GB

    System type: 32-bit operating system

Graphics card: Intel 965 Express Chipset Family

Previously, I had Windows Vista Ultimate Edition on this laptop and have recently upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate. I got a copy of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, which I ran on my PC with Windows XP (Service Pack 2) and I decided to install the same on my current laptop that has Windows 7 now. However, when you successfully install it in compatibility mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 2), I run the application too in the same compatibility mode. But it gives me the following message is displayed:

I also checked my graphics card drivers: they are updated.

I would be grateful if you could shed some light on this error.

I talked to your answers on the similar problem. However, in my case I don't reach even the main menu of the game.

Please note that I do not install this game on my laptop with Windows Vista Ultimate.

Thank you very much in anticipation

    Hello syb1987,

As Meghmala mentioned, the game is listed as being fully compatible, however:

    (1) you can try to run the game in different compatibility modes to determine is that they work.

    (2) have you installed XP Mode? Try maybe to install XP Mode and install the game in the virtual environment.

    (3) you can find others on the forums for this game in particular who were lucky in getting the game to properly install and run better.

    Hope this heps

  • Get the HPScan software to work in Adobe CS5

    Hello everyone.

I recently migrated a number of graphic designers from 10.5.x/CS3 to 10.6.x/CS5. One of them has problems with a HP ScanJet G3010. The HPScan software worked well as an import (TWAIN device) of Photoshop CS3, but she would like to be able to do the same thing in CS5. I downloaded and installed the plugins that include TWAIN (because they are now separated), and I made sure the software HPScan was later (not updated since March, but that the devil). Despite this, the scanner does not come up as a choice in CS5. Are there other settings that I can check? Anything else I should be uninstall? Or I have to go to his manager and tell him that his just scanner is not supported right now?

Please don't let not that go into a debate using the scan to the breast or independent of PhotoShop software. I know the arguments. The designer wants what she wants.

    Thanks in advance!

Most of TWAIN drivers only supports 32-bit, you may need to run Photoshop in 32-bit mode to use the driver.

In addition, there is a reason we did optional TWAIN - a lot of pilots are crash prone.

I believe that the files are in the H.264 format & are the MP4 file type, is it possible to get the video to play right?

One of my mp4 to play fair but none of the others.  I've heard of some places, it supports, some that it is not, perhaps, there is something to download or install or an update that will work?

    Format Factory

('all' boxes on the last screen)

First... after the download and installation of Format

left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.

Drag and drop your video clips on the main screen...

    That should do it...

  • I can't get the elements 6 to work on Windows 8

First; Even if I delete the current program and reinstall, I can't go past the serial numbers, even if they are correct. There are some responsible programs, but it is not a way to recognize the new photos (no bar). There isn't any automatic download or search function.  Looks like I need a new facility that is compatible with the hell-Windows program 8.  Thank you, WJD

It is unlikely that you will get that old of a version of Photoshop Elements to work on the latest operating systems.  Unless you would need to engage the compatibility mode, but that might not help yet.

You can download the latest version of items and see if it works your system:

  • Get the WiFi Catcher to work with Windows XP

    Hello world!

I recently bought an Inspiron 1720 with Vista pre-installed. I was fed up with the OS without hope in two days and downgraded to XP Professional (surprisingly, without a hitch).

I will never miss Vista. The only thing that miss me is now my WiFi Catcher that I can't seem to be able to work with XP.

Do I need a driver for the WiFi Catcher XP? Could someone tell me please to one? I can't be able to find anything relevant on the Dell site.

    Thank you very much!

  • I get a widow in my lower toolbar that rpet low disk space, and when I click it to try to delete the old files, it does nothing... so what do I do... ?

I get a window in my toolbar lower repeating me low disk space and when I click it to try to remove the old files, it does nothing... so what should I do to get rid of the files in a "D" file...?

Please perform these steps and the back of the report.

Click Start, click computer, and it will display your hard drives and their letters. Normally C: is your operating system and where everything is stored (user: files, programs, Documents, photos, etc.). The D: is your RECOVERY partition and contains a copy of the first installation of the plant. The D: is small, about 9 to 15 GB, depending on the version of Windows.

For example, my C: displays 306 GB free (unused) 374 GB (hard disk capacity). D: shows 2.11 free 11.5 GB GB. This is normal for HP, Compaq and others. New HP (Win 7) include an E: with less than 1 GB of capacity, to store a program utility tools. These so-called hard disks are in fact partitions installed on a physical hard disk, but not to concern. The c: partition free space is your important answer. BeAware that the D: and E: (if you have the configuration described above, are never to be used as restore points, or your personal files, they are allocated by the manufacturer to support the reinstallation of the operating system.) My example shows that my C: partition made only 68GB used on the disc, 306 GB is free (unused) 374 GB capacity.

    (1) report with numbers, and you can be helped.

    (2) Vista writes copies ghosts of all your documents (previous versions of the files). These can take many GB.

    (3) when he gets less than 20 percent free, you start to have problems with the disk defragmentation. Less than 10% results in critical problems, the problems of performance and for the worse.

    (4) if the number of free GB is really a low disk space issue, you need to move some of the large data files (pictures, videos,...) out on CD or DVD.

If it helps, let me know. I'm not a moderator, just a user trying to use simple language to help others.
