Try to install Windows 8.1 and get error message: boot disk cannot be partitioned
I am trying to reinstall Windows on my Mac 8.1 and get the message error "boot disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition. I ran across the 'bugs' usual suggested, that I found online with no luck. Attached are the screenshots that can help.
How have you managed to get two HDs of recovery on the same disc? You have two versions of OS X installed on this drive in the past?

This isn't a problem.
It's a design to prevent unauthorized users to perform certain tasks.
Installation and uninstallation are some of these tasks that require administrator rights.If you are not an administrator, or you do not have an administrator password, you can not install or uninstall.

I am currently running windows 7 and recently I met a problem that has been giving me the error code: 0 x 80070043 and the Error Message: Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You can't have appropriate permission to access the item'. When you try to run a Setup.exe for world of warcraft. I have Setup with Bootcamp Windows 8 and then upgrade to Windows 8.1, and then upgrade to Windows 10.
When I want to restart the training camp that I got the error message: "the startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition.
According to this page, it is because of Windows recovery partitions added during the 8 to 8.1 migration and 8.1 to 10.
I check with diskutil and I found 2 partitions of Windows Recovery:

I tried to delete the Windows Recovery 2 partitions with disk utility tools but the button "-" to remove them were leaving is disabled.
Is it a good idea to remove these partitions? If yes how?

2. you are trying to install a new copy of the W10 or remove the existing installation?

When my printer stopped working because of error messages about "printer cannot communicate with the computer" (from "twisted into the USB pins?), I tried to change to 2nd USB port without success. I tried a new cable; that did not help.
Then I uninstalled and reinstalled my Lexmark printer and changed the error message. Now, the printer does not work because "the USB device is not recognized."
I tried to update the chips; Use 1 USB port; and using the old cable, all this without success. I checked the connections of the cable to the printer and the PC and turn on the printer and goes off; I'm out of ideas. Any other suggestions?

I have an older version of XP (2002) and I just reinstalled after formatting my drive. I have problems to update to sp3. I get the error: at a minimum, you must have installed SP1. If I try to install sp1a hang it up because there is no response from the server. Can you help me please?
If you have JUST done a clean install, read on. (Otherwise after return, especially if you have already installed anti-virus software.)SP1a is totally useless.
You can use this upgrade path:Gold XP to XP SP2 to XP SP3.Here are the detailed instructions:1. download the installation of SP2, SP3 and IE8 files. I prefer to keep these on a USB key, but this is optional. Here are the links to all the installation of three files:

3. temporarily disable the automatic updates.
4. install SP2. Restart TWICE.
5 install the SP3. Restart TWICE.
6 switch to IE8. Restart TWICE.
7 install an Antivirus software.
(What happens very often is that someone has their software antivirus running as they try to install SP3, which often translates into chaos! "This is why it must be done after installing SP3 and IE).
8 make sure that firewall Windows is activated (it should be).
(Now you can physically reconnect to the Internet.)
9 visit Windows Update to download and install only the critical security updates.
10 re - enable automatic updates.

Any help would be appreciated.
I tried to install these 'important' updates several times with the same result - updates failed, error 800b0100 code. I downloaded and installed the KB974821 tool - tells me it installed - same problem. (I don't know if I'm supposed to do something else with KB974821 - I have to "run" or just "installed" it enough?) Instructions could certainly be clearer)
I tried to download and install the updates manually - without success - I get various error messages, like "does not apply to your system" or "for a different hardware platform.
I tried this with my firewall/antivirus close as well - using Trend Micro - and still no luck.
Thoughts, comments, suggestions, help? Very much appreciated. Thank you.
BTW, I'm running VHP 64 with Service Pack 2 installed. Nothing should be this complicated or frustrating.

In another forum, where I posted this inquiry (I was told is the right place to post it here) I was advised on how to get the results of the KB947821 tool that I ran.
