try to write files to CD to be read by windows 98 using Windows 7

I have a Machine more old which is not compatible with 64 bit latest systems, yes I tried compatibility mode, I need to transfer files from my computer windows 7 on my windows 98 computer. Whenever I have write files on the CD they show as written on the CD on my win 7, but they don't seem to be there when I read the CD on win 98 machine. Any suggestions?

You should probably "close" or "finalize" the CD on your Windows 98 computer.

I can only imagine that the problem may arise from opening the file in text mode and write on it (0x0A) a line break character: the system can automatically add a CR (0x0D) in order to maintain the standard CRLF. Try opening the file in binary mode instead (fopen with "wb" specification).

When we try to write in a pdf file. document, it changes the Danish letters Æ Ø Å to different signs. To do this, this om pc and Mac. Anyone know of a solution? Thank you

Hi, I found the problem, it seems that the pdf file uses a helvetica font, and when we write in a part of the PDF with the Danish letters A, Æ, O, it changes signs. I changed the Roman fonts in adobe acrobat pro, and then there's no problem. But he seem´s that the standard in pdf files is helvetica, and there is not time to change the files, because we get only the files on the day of the exams at school. It happens in all versions of adobe 11 and DC, it is also a problem on Windows 7, 8.1 and windows 10 more Macbook.

    Kind regards

  • read and write files in a new file binary u16

    Hi all

a very simple thing that I do not seem able to understand. I have a file containing the 1024octets of unsigned 16-bit words. I can read it successfully with the good value displayed. But then I try to write these values to a new file, I can read is no longer the same value (in fact it is all grayed out 0) in the newly written file. The newly written file has the correct size of 1024 bytes, but I don't seem to get the right information. I made the endian are the same, little-endian.

Attached is my basic VI, and the .dat file is the file containing the binary information.

I do not use copy file because once I get this figure out, I'll need to add more file Scan.dat in a single file.

    Thank you!

I would put some time between the writing and reading.  It may be a good idea, in fact close the file between the two.

I have a feeling that you not could enough time to actually have the written file before read you.  That or, as it is still open, the file pointer is at the end of the file and you try to read all bytes from the end, which means that you get nothing.

Not sure of the exact number, but these two things come to mind.

  • Cannot write files e200v2

I have a Sansa e200v2. I run a computer-Sidux linux with KDE 4 as window manager. When I try to copy files by drag and drop, I get an error message indicating that it cannot create folders. When I try and copy individual songs, he says it cannot write to the disk. Before this started, I copy music on the drive and hit eject and unplugged, thinking about its deletion. So I'm sure I caused damage. I was wondering if I could solve this problem of formatting and then reinstall the drivers. If Yes, where can I find them and how to properly install them? Again, I use the window, and I don't know much about linux. Please help me.

Result not screwed, but you'll have to dive into Linux a little.

Go to settings/USB Mode and put the device in MSC mode. This in fact act like any other USB thumb drive. Your Linux support a USB? These are the drivers, you need to find.

The other mode, MTP, is one that works with Windows Media Player. You may have switched to that, and it probably won't work with Linux.

  • Error: "Windows could not complete the format" when you try to write to blank DVDs

I get this error when you try to copy files to a blank DVD.  I am trying to drag and drop files into the dvd player and after a small roar, the dvd ram drive stops and the error message.  Then the drive no longer recognizes blank dvd inside.  I am running Vista 32 bit and my dvd ram is a matshita dvd - ram uj880as ata.  I tried to switch to the microsoft 'FixIt' site, but the problem is not resolved.  I think that the report mentioned that the reader could recognize not writable or something to that extent.  The player can play DVDs fine, however.  Is there a solution to this problem by replacing the dvd ram drive?

    Hello

Have you tried to close all programs and then insert the disc to see what is happening? Try a slower
speed or mastered format. Have you added any burning new software lately - these tend to compete
for resources and can interfere with each other.

Should which CD or DVD format I use?
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/which-CD-or-DVD-format-should-I-use

    ====================================

You have disk problem as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (burn CD & DVD and CD and DVD read).
Therefore, it is not unusual for 1 or 2 rooms with not so work that others do it properly.

Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner might help.

CD have a tolerance + - and you can write on the outside edge.

    http://www.repairfaq.org/repair/F_cdfaq7.html#CDFAQ_014

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

    Try this troubleshooting:

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

  • Move to the new computer, get "an error has occurred during playback of files or write files to a disk." The disc

    • I tried to move my catalog and PE6 install to a new computer.  This is on a Dell Windows XP machine, and I moved it to a Toshiba Windows 7 (64-bit) machine.  I always kept my photo on an external hard drive files.  My library is 50 GB, 10,000 files.  Here's what I did.
      • Copied the original PE6 installation file on the Toshiba.  Installed but not activate it.
      • Copied my catalog folder to the location of the Windows 7.
      • Plug the external drive into the Toshiba.  So makes that same letter drive as a front.
      • Fired up to PE6 on Toshiba.  Seemed fine in the Organizer.  Everything seemed to be there, but I didn't try to make any changes at this time there.
      • PE6 disabled on the Dell.  Enabled on the Toshiba.

    • Then I realized that it is not fair.  I can edit the keywords and the stars rating on photos, but not the dates, legends or notes.  I get "an error has occurred during playback of files or write files to a disk." The drive is may be full, or there may be problems with the source media. »
    • Only a fraction of the external drive is in use.
    • I can access the files on the external hard drive with another application (Windows Photo Viewer).
    • I tried the reconnect All missing files.  Somewhat ambiguous, she said "There are no files to reconnect."
    • In the properties in the organizer for each photo are the appropriate file names and paths.  Folder view works fine in the Organizer.
    • I can put new files in the directories of the same external drive, import them into PE6, then change them normally.

What is the best way to get Organizer connected correctly to my files?  I guess I could import all photos on the new machine, but I guess I'd lose some of my metadata.  So it's out of the question.

    Thank you

    Bill

Well, the recommended method for moving the catalog is to use organizer of the PSE6 on your old computer to do a full backup on your DHM.  (Which backs up the catalog and media files).  Then, on your new computer, open the Organizer PSE6 and restore from this backup.

    Your method seems logical, but...
