Trying to export to PDF from InDesign CS6, but nothing happens

I'm in InDesign CS6 and when I export to PDF, nothing happens. I have other files with the same format and they export fine. I tried to put all the content in a new document, but it still does not work. Does anyone else have this problem?

Thank you!

Bridget

Thank you, thank you for the quick response! P

Adobe strongly recommends use of PDF/X-4, which retains direct management transparency and color all the way to the INVESTIGATION period.

PDF/X-1a is indeed antiquated for any content that uses anything other than CMYK + spot color or transparency.

All modern PDF workflow software supports PDF/X-4. If you are printing to a PostScript RIP, Acrobat Pro (version X and XI) can print PDF/X-4 of tears (or printers) pretty well.

  • Anyone know how to export a PDF from InDesign is "click to go to the next page" instead of "scroll to go to the next page?

Anyone know how to export a PDF from InDesign is "click to go to the next page" instead of "scroll to go to the next page?

I do not use the InDesign last, but in the past ID options for export to the format PDF did not define how a PDF should be considered once exported.  However, these settings can be adjusted in Acrobat via preferences: departure of layout and Zoom in the view of the Page.

  • Exporting to PDF from InDesign CS5

Probably a real simple question to answer, but I am confused.  I'm trying to export a bulletin 6 pages in .pdf format from InDesign CS5; It comes out as a 4-page document in the following sense: the first page is fine (vertical on letter size), the 2nd and 3rd pages appear side by side (horiz. / letter) like pages 4 and 5.  Page 6 is again very well (vertical/letter).  I never had this problem with CS4...  Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance, Wharton

  • Need help, cannot export a pdf from indesign cs5

Hello I used indesign several times so that exported this work in 2015, I've updated this 36 page book this year and I can't export the pdf file, I get no error, the background window does not move, I have every time to leave indesign, I can export indd. as jpg but not my indesign file in a pdf print ready, any ideas? I don't do anything different than normal (I think), thank you so much Cindy

What happens with any document or just this one?

    Here is another approach:

Gather all your linked files and fonts help

    file-> package.

and save it to another drive.

Frome, open the indd file in the folder of the package and try to export PDFs.

Let us know if it works

  • When I export to PDF from InDesign, my page size is higher than expected.

I have an InDesign document with a page size of 8.5 "x 11".  There bleeding from. 125 "on each side.  When I export to PDF and look at the properties of the document, the page size is 9.33 "x 11.83".  I thought it would be 8.75 "x 11.25".  Why the page size par.83 instead de.25?

Hmmm... can't reproduce here. Of course, including any kind of landmarks of the printer in the output increases the size of larger than the pad page + bleed, but as long as I have let everything under "Brand" unchecked by default and tick the check box use Document bleed settings under bleed and Slug, I get the 8.75 x 11.25 expected.

  • Having trouble exporting to PDF from InDesign CS5?

This background task looks good on paper, but it does not work in the real world.

There are serious problems with this feature.

Export to PDF just of the coils on some files.

    Does anyone else know this?

I tried ALL solutions workaround, but it seems to me that we should not "print at very.

It must be a function automatic and thoughtless.

Try using one of the presets by default and modify. I had some problems with an old custom preset in my printer, when I tried to select directly from the file menu, but no problem if I recreated in CS5.

  • SWF animations works does not properly during export to PDF from InDesign

I use InDesign CS5 and you have created a document that I want to add interactivity and animations to. I created buttons and page destionations, etc., which all work perfectly when you export to PDF, but the simple animation that I wanted to include do not work. The animations were created in InDesign, then exported as a SWF file and then imported selection placed in InDesign and then exported as an interactive PDF where animations either do not work, have not been picked up or gift does not work as it should. What I am doing wrong, how can I get the animations work properly?

First of all, if you care about your audience, stop using SWF that has now

    ZERO support on mobile devices.

However after that make sure that InDesign is fully patched, I would recommend

Place the SWF file in the PDF file in Acrobat Pro instead.

  • I can't export to PDF from Indesign... I export and then nothing happens. Can someone please?

InDesign has worked well for a long time.  Then recently, after I and to reset my computer to an earlier time, stopped Indesign let me export to PDF format. I get no error message.  It's just that nothing happens after that I have to export it.  I have some big deadlines for printin and am desperate for help.  I sent the Indesign file to someone else, and they were able to export and create a PDF file.

I look forward to any suggestion. I'd be happy to pay someone if they can make it work again.

Of course, if you want to pay, they'll be happy to take your money. Call technical support and prosecute. Make sure you get a case number and the name of the person to help you and don't let them tell you they will call you back. If necessary, don't be shy about insisting on being raised to the next level.

Before you spend money, well, read this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2850080#2850080

It is 4 pages, but make sure you read all this. There are several possible solutions to stop the background export and some other useful information.

  • I tried to download the Lightroom 4.3 update, but nothing happened

I just purchased Lightroom 4. After installation, I was prompted to download the 4.3 update, but when I click on download, nothing happened. I tried 4 times. I have a Mac Pro running 10.6.8

SOLVED this MYSELF (.. extinguish anyway.) I had been using the Firefox browser, which is normally more compatible with downloads, but after reading an old answer to a similar question, I tried the Safari browser and it worked the first time.

Working in Bridge CS6 and must be able to export images to an email and each visible 'description' of the image.

Happy to do using bridge of the output panel to the pdf format, but I can't seem to find a way to add the news of 'description' as well?

  • Is there a way to automatically set the name of the file in Acrobat > properties when you export a PDF from Indesign?

When I used Quark to make a PDF, the title in the PDF file area is automatically populated with the file name, where properties tab. We love this box to confirm the file names of the original files, so we can keep track of air currents, (in which case the name of the PDF file is changed, what often makes our boss). Is it possible to configure InDesign to do the same?

The InDesign open file, use the file > info file command. You can fill in the information.

  • Turn off printing when exporting to PDF from Indesign

Hi I need to create a form T & C, which will be sent to outside customers, sales team have requested that this be readable but not printable in PDF format in one small step in safeguarding the environment. In fact, I reached last week and now for the life of me can not work out how to do it again. Anyone would be able to help?  Thank you, Claire

NB: unchecking the "print layer" in the layer box Options does not work, unfortunately or not checking the "Unprintable" option in the attributes window. I have a feeling that it was something in the export dialog box, but certainly not an ermissions of security as the PDF option that I created last week does not require a password and does not print.

I would create your security in Acrobat Pro.

Open the PDF file and choose file > properties > Security.

Set a Permissions password. Set up the document for printing. This does not require a password to open the document, but would require only a password if you want to change the settings.

  • How can I get the smallest pdf from InDesign CS4, but keep some sharpness?

I have a brochure of 2 pages, front and back with layered photoshop files, and when I do the small pdf, I need to make a file of 100kb as a customer has done in the past. The smallest, I can do the PDF is 460kb.  He'll be no smaller, no matter what I do. Of course I can enter final resolution as 72 dpi, but photos are very blurred. I have even reduced the size of the files of the photos and replaced in the document. The size of the file remains the same.  My client said that reduced Illustrator for him plus size small in the past but I don't think it's the solution.  How can I you keep some sharpness in a pdf file but keep the size of the file to a bare minimum?

But InDesign CS4 out the file no matter what happens to 460 k for me.

Still don't know why they got 100 KB.

By not using not InDesign. Scott is on the right track by mentioning Distiller - what makes PDF files which is smaller than InDesign can export. Illustrator can be used (bad *) in the same way. Both methods can remove stuff that you don't need if you don't care the print quality don't care about reliable display on multiple platforms, don't care exactly how your fonts are included, don't care about the trial that blind people using screen readers will sue you and so on. I don't know what above is not in your customer file 100 k, or that things in my list above will be eliminated out using Distiller or Illustrator, but I bet that one of the people that has already been posted in your thread is known and can be talked about telling us.

But, if you try to make your customers happy and are not actually personally invested to make the smaller PDF files known to man, and if you are located in the United States, then maybe the phrases "blind screen... readers accessibility... trial" spoken together could encourage your client to rethink this arbitrary will of tiny size of PDF files.

Alternatively, you can just save postscript on the two PDF files and just watch the .ps files in your favorite plain text viewer.

  • How to restore good export PDF from InDesign CS3 or CS5 in Snow Leopard?

I had no problem to export to PDF from InDesign CS3 files (on a Mac Pro running Snow Leopard 10.6.4) until last weekend, when all the fonts appear bitmap or thin and rough, and the images lost color depth and contrast. When I copied the InDesign document to my MacBook Pro laptop, also running 10.6.4 the PDF has emerged with its original quality. Support calls Adobe referred me to the incompatibilities between Snow Leopard and InDesign documents. One of these documents was several pages long, but I could not print from the Adobe to my HP website all-in-one Officejet, because one-third of the document was hidden under a white board. This makes it impractical for the troubleshooting document, because I don't have enough screen real estate (even on a 23-inch screen) to let the open document and all the pages and dialogue boxes needed for reference. Back to the phone and chat support, I was told to upgrade my Creative Suite Premium CS3 to CS5 ($ 800!) and buy the updated Acrobat Pro ($200), with no guarantee that this cost of $1,000 would actually solve the problem. I downloaded the trial version of InDesign CS5, and it has NOT solved the problem. I am also afraid that the problem did not exist before last weekend. Before that, my CS3 and Snow Leopard combination worked very well. Then I checked the forums and was appalled by the variety of issues related to PDF files, for which there seems to be no general solution. Meanwhile, I have hundreds of ads, I'm supposed to be prepare and e-mailing as evidence PDF to businesses nationwide. I have two books of 120 with 256 pages to be submitted to printers in PDF format with all kinds of fonts and files image belonging to my clients. The last time I presented a paper on a printer by electronic mail, the work went perfectly. This time and the next, it is obvious, that I won't be able to send a PDF file to all! If this is the case, my activities related to the directories of 27 will be unable to absorb the expenditures necessary to start all over again with software and new computers, and I'll be out of business. Period. Yes - someone ' an at - it a way to solve this problem? Surely, I would be grateful.
