Trying to get my downloads to install. Using Windows Vista

I try to install I tunes and Avast and after downloading they install it.  Says config is wrong

Download them to the desktop and then right click on the install icon and click on run as administrator.  It sometimes helps.

Pleaae display the EXACT Word for Word error messages for each of the programs.  Who can help to find the cause.

Disable your security software and try the installation again and see if that helps.

Download and run Windows Installer Cleanup Utility: http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Windows-Installer-CleanUp-Utility-Download-18442.html and see if that helps the problem.

If this does not work, try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  If the problem goes away (you can install) then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem (or you can ignore the problem and just restore the system to normal condition with your installed programs now).   Follow the procedures described in the article.  Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall.  Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.

If the above does not work, contact technical support for iTunes http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ or post in the forums: http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=149 for assistance.  Do the same with Avast at:http://www.avast.com/community-and-support orhttp://forum.avast.com/.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

I was able to print to a Hp Officejet 4215 with no problems and a brother and then printer started to save as offline and would not print. Uninstalled all printers and tried to install a new HP Officejet 6310 printer. Ran the install disc included, but would get the message error, is went to the HP site and downloaded the driver, still received the error msg - Windows found a driver software for your device but encountered an error trying to install it. The specified port is unknown. and installation of the device software has no error. I went into control panel / Device Manager / USB controller group / and tried to uninstall - restarted the pc and still no luck. When I go to the control panel and try to install a printer, there is no port printer not listed and I can't add a new port.  I have connected the printer to another laptop running Windows Vista and recognized the new printer and installed the drivers and the impressions very well, but this laptop will not load the drivers. Help, please... Im a university student and desperately need to print!

    Hello

All ports are used, and this is the reason why the installation goes through. We can uninstall these devices that are not in use and then try to reinstall the printer. Here's how:
    a. start, point to all programs, point to Accessories, and then click command prompt.
    b. at a command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:
    Set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices = 1
    c. type the following command a command prompt and press ENTER:
    Start devmgmt.msc
    d. troubleshoot the devices and drivers in Device Manager.
NOTE: Click Show hidden devices on the view menu in device managers before you can see devices that are not connected to the computer.
    e. now navigate in imaging devices and then Device Manager expand it. Check if there are any devices that are not highlighted or blurred. Right-click on these devices and choose uninstall.
    f. repeat the same Universal Serial Bus controllers also.
    g. now try to install the printer.

    I hope this helps.

  • Cannot install Service Pack 2 using Windows Vista Home Edition or anything else on the internet.

    Hello

I tried to download and install Service Pack 2 using Windows Vista Home Edition, or anything like that on the internet without success. According to me, the key word is internet or a block of Vista from the internet to install anything. Many people here get the same error 80070005 for SP2 as I am, but I think that the problem is with Vista, how the system allows any installs or blocks installed from the internet. I suppose that some are able to go through the download process, but installation is where it does not pass through. There are moments where it seems that the installation of SP2 works, but it will fail eventually. Other times what ever happens to the installation process. The same goes for all other downloads and installs from the internet. I am able to install a program that already exists on the computer, so I know that installs works just not the Internet. Do not send me a link to install because it probably won't last through. I may be able to download but installation will not pass by so that the program will not work. I used the words installation and internet a lot for some reason please take account, when responding.

    Thank you

  • Why Spooler subsystem stops when I get my browser to IE8 to IE9. I use Windows Vista.

I use Windows Vista and Internet Explorer 8. Whenever I have uphrade my browser for Internet Explorer 9, the Spooler subsystem App stopped working and also my printer stops working. Three times, the technician of the Dell software corrected the problem, and I had to pay fees for the service. After the last time, which was earlier this month. the technician Dell told me that many individuals who have used Windows Vista has experienced the same problem of spooler, when they have tried to improve their Internet Explorer 8-Internet Explorer 9 browser. . I experience no such problems with Internet Explorer 8.

Today, I read in Google news that Microsoft will automatically update Internet Explorer on all computers using Windows, from January 2012. Given problems I have experienced when I update to Internet Explorer8 in Internet Explorer 9, can you please advise me on how I could solve the problem of th Spooler subsystem App that stops working, when I update to Internet Explorer 9?

    Henry Mortimer

    Hi Henry Mortimer,

    1. What is the number of brand and model of your printer?

    2. what measures does troubleshooting the Dell technician tried to solve the problem?

    Method 1:

If the Dell technician had attempted to remove Internet Explorer 9 each time to solve the problem, you can try reinstalling IE 9 and try to reinstall the printer drivers and check.

How to install or uninstall Internet Explorer 9?

You can check the link of Dell support to download and install the latest drivers for the printer.

    Drivers Dell & downloads.

    Method 2:

If you still experience the problem, then try to run the printer Troubleshooter and verify.

Using Windows Vista SP2 (32 bit), cannot install IIS.  Tried several of the resolutions found on the web to turn (uninstall .net 3.0) to uninstall WAS.  Still nothing works.  Look at the event log, it appears that the TrustedInstaller.exe is in a loop that indicates that Windows Servicing began a process of change state KBxxxxx package installed to installed.  I have this day to the next release and we found thousands of entries repeated over and over as it in the event Log.

I would say the TrustedInstaller.exe has been hacked or corrupted, but daily MS patches are applied without error.   I also ran the SFC/scannow command without success.  I tried to restart, don't turn off unnecessary services, execution of installation in Mode safe... go!

I have only a limited understanding of IIS and ASP.net.

    1. What are they? IIS 5, 6, 7.0?
    2. make sure that your version of Vista can support.
Go to programs and features > column to the left, turn Windows has on or off > scrolling Internet Information Service > expand (+) sign and make sure if its level of compatibility under Web management tools. Home Premium can go as far as IIS6. > Make sure check marks are on the elements you need to install IIS.

    3. from what I understand, the version of Vista Ultimate and superior is required to install IIS 7.

This is as far as I know.

    Hello

You will need to make a direct download of the SP1, SP1 is no longer available via Windows Update.

You don't say what that 'little' version of Vista you have (32-bit or 64-bit) and x 86 in your question is the 32-bit version:

Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > it will tell you it.

    Select download OK "bit".

    Hello lailaanis

First of all exit Internet Explorer. If you want to enable the download button when you hover over a video in Internet Explorer 8 you must go to tools > Preferences > download and save. Then to fix your problem, first UNCHECK the checkbox enable Web download and record in the window right under download and recording options, click OK. Then the Real Player output.

Now, open Real Player again, follow the steps as tools > Preferences > download and record and this time this BOX called Web download and registration. Click OK and real player output.

Now open Internet Explorer and visit any favorite video link and the download box will now appear.

You can also use other services like http://www.keepvid.com/ to download videos from sites of common videos easily in different quality formats which can be played in Real Player.

    Hope that answers your question.

  • After a clean install of Windows Vista, Intel Wifi card is installed and activated, but does not detect the network.

Wireless card not working after a clean install of Windows Vista

I did a clean install of Windows Vista Home Premium on my HP Pavilion of 32 bits. I've completely updated Windows via Service Pack 2. Given that the clean install, my wireless card, Intel (r) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN, was not able to detect all the networks. The Wifi card is listed under NICs as being installed and activated. the hardware on my laptop Wifi switch is set on "on" and the light is blue, indicating that the card is working.

I can connect to the internet if I connect physically my computer to the modem with an ethernet cable wireless, so the modem isn't the problem. Other computers can connect to the wireless modem, so my Wifi modem functionality is not the problem. The problem with my computer.

I tried to uninstall the Intel driver and reboot my computer with the generic driver. Install the driver generic, but my wireless card has not always worked. I then ran an update of windows, nothing helps.

I tried to install the "Intel® PRO /? Wireless and WiFi Link"drivers for Windows Vista (32-bit 13.1.1.1 the latest version and the previous version 12.4.4.5 32-bit) for the Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN directly from the Intel Web site at http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Wireless+Networking&ProductLine=Intel%C2%AE+WiFi+Products&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Wireless+WiFi+Link+4965AGN. The map didn't always work with a driver.

In addition to the pilots, I also downloaded a tool of diagnosis of Intel (Intel® PROSet /?) Utility of WiFi wireless connection for Windows Vista 32 -? Bit). Said diagnostic tool the WiFi card is not installed or enabled, however, Device Manager maintains that he is also installed and active.

Is there a problem that causes Device Manager to say that all is well with the card, but does not map to realize that they diminish the radio signals? Everything's fine, diagnostic, it just does not detect networks around him. Help, please.
