Trying to install the last download, my Mac application if I want to replace firefox with a version more OLD - have to - I do this?

Firefox has informed me that he had downloaded an update. When I tried to install it, my iMac asked me if I wanted to replace an OLDER version of firefox. It was not not clear to me why he asked this. If this download is an updated version, why is detected by my computer as an "older version". ? And should I install? I can choose to replace the 'new' version, or keep both. What is the best? (Without unnecessarily using extra space).

Thank you.

Hello phkirby, please always try to download and install firefox from the official site, do the following:

1. download a copy of the latest http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html firefox (full installer)

2. Trash , install the current application of Firefox to do a cleaning.

3. install the version you downloaded.

Do not select to delete your personal data, your profile data is stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you will not lose your bookmarks or other personal data.
