Hello

1 Norton will interfere with system restore

If using Norton, disable Norton Protection inviolable, use SR.

2. try Safe Mode system restore:

And here's how to go in Safe Mode options; select Safe Mode from the list of options:

  • Cannot reset my HP Pavilion g7-Windows 8 * error-no changes have been made *.

My laptop 1-year-old has been having some problems, and I took it to my boyfriend of the approved computer. My laptop would start up randomly as if I were a signature with the same name and password guest: my photos, videos and documents could not be found. It turns out that my laptop set all my stuff in a user with the same username as the ONE I have, but made sure that when I connect I'm labeled as 'TEMP (name of my computer).

His solution was to transfer all my photos and etc to onedrive and reset my computer. I followed the steps to remove everything, but when I confirm and believe that my cell phone was about to reset it, it flashes that "no changes". I select 'check for solutions', only to have the small window will disappear in a few seconds.

All I want is now back to the factory setting, install windows update 8.1 and out of this technological purgatory. Thank you for reading my fate :)

    Hello

Seems to me that the installer is corupted. You may need to do this way another (I consider this approach last resort). This will erase all THE DATA on the primary drive. You will need another PC, a USB drive (8 GB I think) and your key of product (just in case). Your product key is usually attached to the bottom of your computer, however not this case, use this software here to find.

Download the Setup file of Windows 8 on the site here on the other PC. Run it and follow the steps. It will download the installation files for the PC. When it's done, it will ask you how you want to install Windows 8. Select create a USB key and follow the steps.

Plug the USB key into your computer and restart it. You will need to hit the Menu button to start ("F9" or "Esc" to HP) and boot from the USB key (it is usually named after the mark or Cathy USB:...). Follow the steps, including enter the product key. When you are prompted, select Install Clean and click Next. On the next page, you need to maybe clean some of the readers by using the 'advanced tools', or else you can get away with by clicking on the drive that Windows 8 has been installed on and shot after / install.

Once you have configured Windows 8, you may need to install the drivers from the Hp site

    Hello

Please make sure that there is no Proxy setting on your network and also check that you are logged into admin and not as mobile admin. You can also try to connect the MAC to a Wi - Fi network to different/open or Mobile Hotspot and disable all antivirus on MAC titles and try to check if the creative cloud app works.

If you have any software backup as totalrecovery pro 9 or norton ghost, they prevent you from creating a manual restore point.  I have 9 pro full recovery and everything I do is to disable the Recovery Manager when I want to create a manual restore point.  There is no problem with system restore points created they work very well it is the manual of who are the problem.

  • Error: "the drive where windows is installed is locked, unlock the drive and try again" while trying to regenerate the system

My daughters Toshiba S955-S5373 went all green, she says while she helped the battery out. I didn't know she was in trouble. We tried to solve; However, Bad_system_config_info appears before diagnosing and resolving problems. After 4 hours, nothing has been resolved.

I found the DVD we created initially and attempted to load that. We shut down the laptop with the power and reverse holding F12 button. I tried to boot from the DVD, but it does not read the DVD and just crossed the initially to start and diagnose and solve problems. I have waited 2 hours, but without success.

I turned off again and I just tried to refresh the PC. He said "the drive where windows is installed is locked, unlock the drive and try again".

I then tried auto repair but could repair. Log file C:\Windows\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrao;/txt appeared.

I even tried to reset the PC as a last resort. But the message failed to reset the PC required A disk partition is missing.

Don't know what I can do. Can you help us?

Original title: Toshiba S955-S5373 will not start

    Hi Annaed,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I can understand your concerns to your system and will certainly guide you in the right direction to solve the problem.

Control bug BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO occurs if the SYSTEM registry hive is damaged. However, this corruption is generally unlikely, because the bootloader, known as NT Loader (NTLDR) in versions of Windows prior to Vista, checks a hive for corruption when loading the hive.

This bug check can also occur if some values and critical registry keys are missing. You keys and values may be absent, if a user manually change the registry.

As per the error message "the drive where windows is installed is locked, unlock the drive and try again", I would refer to the suggestions posted by phanlon7 replied on 12 October 2013 in the next thread and check if they are useful.

  • I looked under system restore points and the earlier it had was on March 27, which was still after that I got problems

Good so my computer has some corrupted files... I looked under the system (Yes, including the section 5 days ago) restore points, and the earlier it had was on March 27, which was still after that I got problems... I want a later date... Help, please.

    Hello

If there is no previous restore points until 27 March, including even more that 5 days more then they just do not exist

and you can not do something which

    Follow these steps instead:

    Run the sfc/scannow command.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally madeprograms,Accessories, right-clickguest, and then clickrun as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or clickallow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions

If SFC detects the main problems it can't fix you may need to borrow a Microsoft dvd vista not an acer, HP etc. recovery disk and do a repair installation

read the below tutorial on how to perform a repair installation

    Hello

If the files are deleted, then you will need to use any third party recovery software to recover files.

    Hello

    1. what exactly happens when you try to create a system restore point?

    2. you receive an error message when you create system restore point?

    3. what operating system is installed on the computer?

In the event that you use the Windows 7 operating system you can follow the steps below and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

    Step 1:

Locate the service associated with the restoration of the system or Volume Shadow Copy Service is started after the computer is restarted. This service can be stopped by some viruses as well, so you can try to run a scan of your computer.

    To check the service

    (a) click Start

    (b) in the start search box type Services

    (c) click on - RUN as ADMINISTRATOR

Check if the below mentioned services has mentioned State and type start.

    Shadow copy volume started Automatic\Manual

    Step 2:

Also check the dependency services that are required for the System Restore Service run.

To verify that double-click the service, and click the Dependencies tab.

This service must be started before the restore point is created automatically or manually.

    Method 2:

Try disabling the firewall and windows temporarily on the computer security software and then try to create a system restore point and check if that helps.

Follow the articles given below to change the settings for the firewall and security software settings

    Understanding Windows Firewall settings

    Disable the anti-virus software

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

    Note:

If you are able to perform the system restore after you disable the security software then you may have to contact the software publisher for the security software by disabling the firewall and security software is a potential threat to the security of the system.

  • System restore points keep deleted by the system

Recently, I have activated the protection settings for windows 8 and define the use of storage 10 GB max. Every time before the update of the system, I'll create a manually restore point. But after a few days, the system will change the disk space maximum at 0 kb system restore point and remove the point of restoration that I created. Even if the protection settings is always on. sfc/scannow and re - install windows 8 does not resolve. No idea how to solve this problem?

    Dual-boot
    1. Windows 7 Professional 32-bit
    2. Windows 8 Pro 32-bit

    Peterson,

It is a common problem with Windows dual-boot configuration. Windows 8 restore points are physically deleted by Windows 7 when you log out of Windows 8 and boots in Windows 7. There are several workaround solutions to stop this behavior. A such work-around is to use the Bitlocker feature on the volume on Windows 8.

BitLocker is a feature of security integrated into Windows 8. When it is enabled on the volume on which Windows 8 restore points are enabled, then it is inaccessible to the Windows 7 Volume when you start in.

There are some other solutions workaround to make some registry changes. But it can be risky If you're not good with computers. Here is an article that tells you about the same problem on Windows 7, when it is configured to dual boot with an earlier Windows operating system.

I get an error when I try to run my application after packaging and loading on the Playbook Simulator.

When I try to start my application, I get a white screen for 1 second, it flashes black for a second before leaving white and then I get this error message: "this file could not be opened. Make sure you have the proper permissions and try again. »

I don't think that my code using anything that requires permissions. (that is to say, does not use the shared files, or camera, etc.)  At the moment it is simply a text box and a button that calls code that retrieves data from the database I have. API reference, he said that I don't need permission for the use of the HTML5 and sql database.

    This is my config file:

I read something on the extension of the Javascript and exporting to a JAR file. Do I need to do? I have only a single .js file with a few defined variables and functions that implement the functionality of database/sql.

    I can't think of anything...

Make sure that the index.html file referenced in your config.xml file has exactly the same name as the index.html file in your application.  You list all of your files with the 'I' for 'Index.xml' in capital letters.  The Tablet OS applies a case-sensitive file system.

If this is the case, I suggest rename Index.html index.html, reconditioning and try again.
