Tungsten e2

In the communications on my tungstene2 I can't access my bluetooth option. I get failure bluetooth message saying bluetooth missing components. Reinstall the software. I don't have the original cd. HELP please.

Thanks for your info. Not know the connection cable.

Problem solved by doing a soft reset 2. Was able to do the sync via bluetooth, which has been recognized by your handheld.

  • Tungsten E2: Note limit entry of characters? Where Applications preferences?

I have starting problems with my Palm Tungsten E2.  I tried to search a faq, to see if my problems were addressed with the existence, but could not find.  So I'll try here.
    (1) I do not understand is what sync.  Looks like it transfers files between your handheld and computer.  If so the I can see that it would be useful, but I am concerned not with that now, I must get the Pocket working first.  I did, however, download Palm desktop on my Mac and have used Bluetooth, so that the mac and your handheld knows each other names.  Maybe it will work when I try to sync.
    (2) my pocket computer to turn itself to I would leave it alone for a few minutes, but now there just on indefinitely.  I can manually turn off, but it will not turn off.  I read in the user manual you can go to applications, then go to Preferences, where you can select the TURN-OFF commands.  But I can't find the preferences anywhere in the Applications.
    (3) I tried writing in the Note at the same time the keyboard onscreen and with graffiti.  In no case enter more than about 15 to 20 characters.  After that it just won't take any longer.  When I try to write on the screen on the fly the characters are so screwed up that I can't tell what I wrote.  No doubt with the practice, I could learn to write Freehand, but as a beginner, it's embarrassing.  Is there a way to work around the limitation on the number of characters that note will accept?

Glad to hear of your progress!

Yes, the title to the "Notepad" application is limited.  This app is designed to look like a post-it note, just a quick Scribble.   The memo app is more like a simple text editor.  This can use Graffitti to the entrance and can be synced to your computer.

Palm has included a copy of 'Documents To Go' on each installation disc.  This was a suite of programs similar to MicroSoft Office and added capability of Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

Unfortunately, I have very little experience with iOS devices.  Issues specific to Mac used to have their own section of the Forum in the previous incarnation of the Community Forum of Palm.

HotSync may only be started from the Palm device.

It doesn't sound like you have made a successful HotSync.  The contacts should appear in the 'Address' of Palm Desktop section.  The file created is not the one who is supposed to be 'open' in the usual sense.  It's just a support for Palm Desktop file.

In both Palm Desktop and HotSync app on the device is the access to the 'register '.  The HotSync log is a record of what occurred during the HotSync operation.  You can visualize this in order to better understand as to what went wrong, if anything.

  • Windows 7 Ultimate does not recognize the Tungsten E2

After that I've upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows does not recognize my Tunsten E2 cable into the USB port.  I went to Device Manager to search for a triangle in order to use Aceeca.  However, there is no triangle.

I tried using a USB key into the USB port and it worked perfectly.  However, when I tried my cable of tungsten, it's as if nothing happened in the USB port.  No recognition by Windows at all.

Any viable solution would be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hi WyreNut,

FYI: I got it working.  However, there are a few things that had to be done.

    1. clean unlock it.

    2. go to regedit and make sure that all records of palm have disappeared.

    3. after cleaning regedit, I cleaned the registry again.

    4. disconnected from the USB port.

    5. restarted my computer.

    6. USB connection back into the port.

    7. follow the signs to Aceeca.

    8. everything works.

    Have a great week.

I am hving wrong when I try to sync (Tungsten E2) to my computer.  My computer has Windows 7.  Anyone know a solution for this problem?

Probably, the problem is that you have a 64-bit version of Win7.

At the top of the list of the messages in this section, you will find a title "64-bit Windows USB drivers for Palm Desktop."

Please read this post and follow the directions to install the drivers of the company Aceeca.

  • Tungsten E2: Setup will not install programs.

I use Windows 10. When I try to install an application using my Tungsten E2 Hotsync, the installer of the application goes through the motions, but does not install any programs on my E2 more.

Can I remove programs in my E2, but I can't install programs longer.

I tried to change the compatibility settings, but it did not work.

Any solution would be really appreciated.

Real Player is the file that you want to install?  What is its size?  More than 9.8 MB?

Perform a soft reset on your E2, and then try again.  Just press the small Reset button at the back.  No file will be deleted.

  • RealPlayer for Palmone 161: Real Player tungsten

I installed on my Tungsten E2 of RealPlayer.

I decided to change the songs on my SanDisk. I deleted all the songs and replace them with the new songs I wanted.

To my surprise, RealPlayer would not read the title song or the singer. He plays the songs well, but there are only gibberish where the title of the song and the singer should be.

    Any solution would be appreciated.

Sorry, no--I have never reduced my mp3.   :/

  • Tungsten E2 hangs up on the calendar during the hot sync.

I have a Tungsten E2 with Palm OS Garnet 5.4.7. Suddenly, he started hanging up during hotsync. He always tries to synchronize the calendar when it crashes.

I lost the original PC software and impossible to reinstall cd. I tried to remove the software and installation of Palmdesktopwin62, but it has not fixed the problem.

All the information on my Tuingsten is intact. Is anyway to get the Info off the coast of the Palm other than with the software of origin. Really, I can't lose my calendar data because it has my class schedule 6 whole months following thereon.

    Two suggestions:

If you use not just any backup on the device software, download "NVBackup" and install it.  You can turn off the duct of the calendar by opening the HotSync Manager and changing the conduct of calendar ' doing nothing '.  As long as you do not check the box "Set as default", there will be a HotSync without trying to synchronize your calendar.

Make a full backup of your device to a regular with NVBackup, errors 1 GB SD card and everything.

Now go to Pimlicosoftware.com and download and install "DBFixit.  Run the program and let it search for corruption in your Calendar database.  It can correct errors free of charge, but more serious may require the purchase of a registration code (proceeds go to habitat of gorillas).

There are a lot of messages in this Forum to people who have successfully used this program!

I need to buy a new pc and it has 8 64-bit windows.  I install MS Office 2007 and use Outlook 2007.  Can I use bluetooth to synchronize my tungsten 32 via bluetooth?  If so, what are the procedures?  Thank you.

There is a post "sticky" on this topic at the top of this section:

You can use the faster USB cable instead of BlueTooth.  If you reallllly want to use BlueTooth, it is up to you.  It should work, but it will be slower...

  • Tungsten e2/lack-sync: freeze when you try to synchronize

    Hello

I use a tungsten e2, synchronization with the missing 6.0.4 sync on a mac 10.5.4 (German). I synchronize via the cradle.

When I try to sync the e2 freezes while the "synchronization" message appears. Black-White-flashing bar appears on the tungsten-screen (maybe 2px height). the only solution is to soft reset.

I tried the hard reset, removed the sd card and checked the cable connections - nothing.

is it possible to solve this problem or should I assume that the tungsten material is broken?

This forum but found no solution.

    Thanks in advance!

I did not check it with another program, but I found the solution now, I think:

When I synchronize without the cradle (i.e. directly by plugging the cable in the pda,) it seems to work. Strange, isn't?

in any case: thanks a lot for the good and detailed support!

Hello and welcome to the HP support community!

The E2 a NVRAM it's internal memory, so all that is there are always power loss!  :-)

You will need a battery to recover the data.  May want to search Chris Short, aka PalmDr. on eBay for repairs.

  • Tungsten T3 Hot Sync in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and WIndows XP mode

I've upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and now my Palm T3 will not be synchronized.  I downloaded desktop 4.1.4e 6.3 and 4.1.4. I tried all three in both windows 7 and windows XP mode that tells me is a 32-bit o/s but I'm really not sure.  I tried to hot sync in bluetooth in windows 7, as the T3 and laptop connect but he always tells me that the port is used by another program? Does anyone know what I have to do to get it to sync or am I've sentenced to throw my faithful T3 out? Any ideas?

Hello eaglesfan723 and welcome to the forums of Palm.

The Tungsten T3 HotSync driver is not 64-bit capable, this is why you can't get the T3 to HotSync.  Please read this thread to learn more about your options with Windows 7.
