' Turn off display "intermittently stops working.

After time setting to turn off the display, the display will sometimes exit when its supposed to and sometimes remain running indefinitely. New resetting does not help, the behavior remains the same.

The setting is on my laptop in power "Balanced" plan the setting 'disable the display/Plugged in. " (Put the computer to sleep "Never")

Note, I also downloaded and installed Office 2010 beta.

Thank you.

Looks like a problem with your graphics card, update the drivers for your graphics card or reinstall them and check.

  • detected external display suddenly stopped working - displays black screen

original title: detected external display suddenly stopped working

    Hello

I have searched in several forums, but have not been able to completely solve this problem.  It has been set provisionally and has not yet.
    This system I have:
HP TouchSmart tx2 tablet pc with Windows Vista Service Pack 2 x 64-bit (Home Premium)
    AMD Turion (tm) X 2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile ZM - 82, 2.2 GHz
ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics card
I have been working for more than a year with a monitor flat screen Dell ST2310 external monitor and works very well with the setting "use external display only.  From one minute to the next two screen went black so I forced a restart and again the same problem.  I decided to manually disconnect the external monitor by unplugging the VGA cable from the laptop that turns on automatically to the main display as it would if I am disconnected display.  When I connected the VGA cable again the same question in the two screens were entirely black.  I unplugged once more the VGA cable if I could change the settings in Windows mobility.  I plugged back in the VGA cable after changing the settings of "external display only" to 'mirror' devices and after playing for a bit, with the Windows Mobility Center, I had the external display to work again my regular settings: "external display only.  This solution lasted a day and now works in the main screen and the external screen is completely black.
I tried in vain to solutions:
-Change VGA cables continues to experience the same issue.
-Tested according to the specifications and Dell monitor Monitor works fine if the backlight is not the problem.
-Records update for ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics card and driver generic PnP Monitor and Dell ST2310.
-Uninstalled ATI Catalyst Manager and re install now as AMD Vision Engine Control Center.
-Checked AMD Vision Engine Control Center recognizes the connected external display.
-Uninstalled the driver Dell ST2310 and re installed the driver.
-On the screen settings have tried to extend the desktop on the external screen (second)
Now, this is what's going on and don't know how to fix it:
-Windows Mobility Center detects a monitor external, even when the VGA cable is disconnected.
-When it detects the external display it sometimes detects it as DELL ST2310, sometimes as a generic Non - PnP monitor.
-Sometimes under "Monitor" in the Device Manager, there are several monitors generic Non - PnP contained also the Dell ST2310 and generic PnP monitor.
-When the external monitor is connected, the screen is completely black and does not work even after changing the settings Windows Mobility or Fn F4.

  • Equium A100-338 display has stopped working

    Hello

I have exactly the same problem on my Equium A100-338 loaded with Vista.
The display has stopped working (he went to a poorly lit black screen) after I had rebooted my machine even if the computer and the hard drive seems to work Ok with the lights on. I tried the usual elimination of power and the battery and restart it tricks, but after initial success it has stopped working after a few weeks.

Once I had the computer operation that I only closed it down in the mode 'sleep', and he continued to work for a month until that he should be released after a windows update. I then plugged an external display and use of the Fn + F5 key got the external display running.
Low and behold, the screen of the laptop started working again as if it had been "energised".

I took what the laptop screen was OK and that he would not need replacement.
The laptop worked OK until it needed to restart another when the unrest started again. The screens are gray on the monitor and the laptop now.

These problems seem to point to a flaw in the display driver or VGA card, have you received updates or suggestions?
Now, I bought another laptop Toshiba Satellite to connect to the forums trying to find out if my original computer can be repaired
These problems seem to be quite common on Toshiba computers.

Any help members would be welcome.

    > These problems seem to point to a flaw in the display driver or VGA card, have you received updates or suggestions?
For the most part a graphics card driver must be reinstalled or updated to a newer version it can also be a problem of OS which means that the new facility could help
But try to update the display driver

1 did you changes to the computer before the show?
    2. what browser you use to access the Internet?

    3. you get this error message while trying to open the web browser?

This problem may occur for one or more of the following reasons:

    a. you may need to install the latest updates for your display driver
    (b) Visual effects, or too many programs running in the background may be slowing down your PC
    c. the GPU takes more time than allowed to display graphics on your monitor.

Note: If you use an older video card, it may be a video driver that is fully compatible with your version of Windows.

  • Envy laptop: my notebook of envy not turn off when I stopped in Windows 10?

    Hi all

I tried everything to get my HP laptop work properly.  I am a computer programmer and my laptop not stop using the power HP power and sleep, using Windows 10.  I have to update the display driver, I tried different settings in the HP power settings and still no luck.  I have never seen anything like this before.  All my drivers are updated etc.  I'm about to give this thing!  When I select my phone stop Windows 10, should close and doesn't have the power button / light on.  When I try to go back on my laptop, it is dead and I hold the power button for about a minute before it turns off so I can restart the laptop?

    Thank you

    Mark

    Hi Mark,

You've already tried this, but if not, it's definitely worth it.

On some machines, the pilot for 11 series IMEI has been known to cause that kind of question of the judgment, so it may be worth trying an earlier version.

You can use the following method to install an earlier version of the driver IMEI.

Download driver IMEI on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp66001-66500/sp66228.exe

Disable your wireless card (should be f12 ).

Open your download folder and run the installer - it warns you that it is an earlier version, but simply continue.

    When finished, restart the laptop.

If the computer shuts down correctly, turn on your wireless adapter and use the utility on the following link to prevent Windows 10 to update automatically the driver IMEI again.

Method 1: Run the troubleshooter of power

You can run the troubleshooter of power to set your computer's power settings. The resolution of the problems of power check things as settings timeout of your computer, which determines how long the computer waits before turning off the display or enter the mode 'sleep'.

  • Satellite Pro U400 - 150 - display has stopped working

    Hello guys,.

yesterday I used to turn on my laptop (Satellite Pro U400 - 14) and it worked fine but after 1 minute my screen stopped working. I tried to restart the PC, and it worked OK again. But I turn on my laptop today and it didn t work at all. Everything is OK, PC works fine, everything is good, but only the display is black.

I Don t know what happened with my laptop. :/

Is there anyone who knows the answer to this problem?

    Thanks for all your answers.

    > Everything is OK, PC works fine, everything is good, but only the display is black.
Of course, this isn't all right if nothing appears on the screen

Connect an external monitor to check if you would be able to see something on the screen?
Do this! Usually you should use the FN + F5 to alternate between the monitor internal and external.
If this is not possible and nothing could be seen on the 2nd monitor, the graphics card problem can cause this.

    Follow the steps mentioned below:

Sleep and extended: frequently asked questions
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/sleep-and-hibernation-frequently-asked-questions

First, see if the problem occurs after Disabling the screen saver (by selecting the screen saver 'None'). If the problem persists, please turn off the sleep in the BIOS. To check the BIOS settings, please consult the user manual or contact the manufacturer of the motherboard.

In addition, please set the following group policy and see if the problem can be solved.

    (1) please click Start, type group policy in the search box and press ENTER.
Expand the following item: Computer Configuration-> administrative templates-> system-> power management-> video and display settings

    (2) double click on "turn off the display (plugged).

    (3) change the setting to "Disabled".

    4) click OK.

    (5) repeat step 4 or 5 to disable "turn off the display (on battery).

In addition, you can test clean boot and see if the problem occurs. If the problem goes away in the boot environment, we can use a 50/50 to quickly refine approach which entry is causing the problem.
