turn off the headphone jack on the dell inspiron 15r is 7520 8 windows

Hello

My helmet came loose inside the headphone jack on my laptop, and I can't get out...

Now, I expected to find a way to disable the headphone jack, so that I could still play sound through the built-in speakers, but I don't know how to do this.

Could someone give me a guide on how to do this please? Preferably a software solution.

My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 15r is 7520 with windows 8

Thank you!

Hi Thibaultdj,

It seems that we have already tried all possible troubleshooting steps, you can try to get the plug removed with professional help.

In case the above don't work for you, you may need to replace the motherboard as the headphone is integrated on the motherboard.

  • Dell inspiron 15R n5010 no sound, Windows 10

I have dell 15R (N5010) and have problems with the audio drivers. When I upgrade to Windows 10 my audio drivers not working and have no sound. I spoke with the community of Microsof, he send to dell... It's a rly funny because dell allow users of portable computers more former because they have no benefits for this. The warranty is over so bye :) Can someone help me?

Attention to anyone reading this thread:

Make sure you know the name of your template before you install a driver!

The topic of this thread is "Dell inspiron 15R n5010 no sound, Windows 10. The problem is that there is no model with this exact name. There is an Inspiron N5010 from 15and an Inspiron 15R N5110.

They are different models and different drivers. In other words, the audio driver for the N5010 is not intended for the N5110 and vice versa.

To complicate matters, someone named aimeehuang posted in this thread and put in a link named "dell 15r n5010 drivers download. But if you click on the link it goes to a page for Inspiron 15R N5110.

The person named 'aimeehuang' is not used on this discussion forum and probably got confused model names.

Check the name of your model. If you have an Inspiron 15 N5010, use driver IDT audio R280657. It is intended for Win7, so install in Win10 using compatibility mode (instructions below).

If you have an Inspiron 15R N5110, use the IDT 6.10.0.6421 audio driver. It is intended for Windows 8. He could install without problems in Win10, but if there is a problem, install it using compatibility mode (instructions below).

    1. download and save the audio driver on your computer or to any location on the hard drive...
    2. double-click on the new folder to extract (unzip) the files of the driver.
    3. the wizard of the extractor will create a new folder for the driver files. It will be located at the "c:\dell\drivers\xxxxxx". Note the exact location that the wizard creates.
    4. If the driver begins to install automatically, stop (cancel) installation.
    5. search for the driver files on the hard drive (the location you noted).
    6. find the file "setup.exe".
    7. right click on setup.exe to open the context menu.
    8. Select Properties.
    9. Select the Compatibility tab.
    10. check the box "run this program in compatibility mode for"... Win7 (or Win8 if you install the Win8 to the N5110 driver).

  • Turn off the backlight of Split X 2 Tablet Windows Logo key

When you use the computer in tablet mode, the "home" button for Windows logo on the bottom of the frame lights up bright white. Is there a way to turn this light off? At night, it's blatant and annoying.

I found a solution. It's a little dramatic, but it is effective.

I downloaded the service manual for the system see if I could identify the material associated with the button. It seems that the 'button' appearance is actually only a part of the touchscreen table. The "Backlight" is a completely independent piece of equipment. On page 63 of the manual, the component is called the 'Home LED Board'.

To get a better idea of what looks like this 'advice', I used the number of terms of reference to find the part on ebay:

I have concluded that the simplest action plan would be to simply shut off the power to this Commission. I removed the two screws on the base of the Tablet, then removed the two screws. Use a spudger, I coaxed the back cover of the case open to expose the circuits below. I don't have to remove the cover. There, I could see a small black cable.

I used very narrow beaks pliers to disconnect the cable.

I tightened the lid back and replaced the screws and covers.

Voila! The backlight of the 'home' button is now disabled and the button itself is still working and still causes haptic. It is a reversible hardware change as the cable can just be reconnected if necessary. For the most part, I can't the need for this blatant backlight, in any case.

I hope this helps someone else out there!

I updated the driver twice directly on the dell site.  Now, I get an error when you start by saying that I have to disable certain aspects of the pilot.

    Forget that for a second.

The microphone picks up only hit!  He can pick up when I type and I can see it in the sound options > recorder > mic.

I tried to set up the microphone and he says he can hear me, but when I type it 100% is picking up b/c I see green bars to jump. wasted hours on this... any help appreciated...

Hey G DELL-Loïc, I put in contact with the service to my country, the Greece, and the problem was solved. It was a material error, the microphone did not work.

  • Dell Inspiron 15R SE 7520 - mSATA connection?

Hello. I have an Inspiron 15R SE here (see code evaluates DNDOM12S.) I understand that there is an internal SATA 2 drive of 1 TB 5400 RPM. The links on the General page to reviews that mention the mSATA 32g so I did not know that the system is apparently came with a disc with an mSATA petition, but is no longer made.

I would like to install a SSD as I have an insane amount of space NAS.  I would like to know:

If I get an mSATA system drive I mentioned above will have the correct daughter card / port to install?

If Yes, I a SATA 3 SSD for faster transfer speeds?

If not, what is the reference number of the daughter card I need to order and install to use player mSATA?

Wouldn't make more sense to get a shopping cart for the optical drive and install an SSD there? Is it also a SATA 2 connection or a SATA 3 drive will work in the optical Bay?

I also thought that I read somewhere that the BIOS cannot be set to boot from the optical drive caddy? Is this true?

    Thanks in advance

If you order the system with a disk mSATA, the girl will not be in the system.  You need one depends on what model you have - 15R refers to one of several models - 5520, 5521, etc..  You need to find your model number (on the screen of the BIOS, F2 on startup) to find the right part.

The new model SE 15R will be training mSATA 6G;  most are 3G.

It is true that you cannot start a drive mounted in an optical bay adapter.

  • The DELL Inspiron 15R with Windows 8 is not initialized.

    Hello

I bought this Dell laptop the year last with Windows 8. It became slow after a month or two, but I was able to use it. I never installed any Application. I basically used it to watch movies and Email. Last week when I said booted.it 'Check media' and did not start at all.

I checked on the Web site and ran the diagonstic test - all shows good. what I really need to reset this laptop to factory default settings.

My doubt is that... Probably my Anti Virus would have expired, and it is the reason for all this trouble. Can I buy Norton or Kaspersky Antivirus and install it if my laptop is restored to the default factory settings.

    Thank you

    Bernadette

    Hi JLCoverdell,
Thanks go to the forum. In fact, it does not matter where you purchased the computer. All features will be the same and the steps are the same for restore the default computer. Yes, we can also restore the computer through windows operating system if the computer is able to boot.

  • Sound weird coming from the hard drive, every Min or 2-Dell Inspiron 15R SE 7520

Not really sure if this is still a bad question. This player has not yet failed. It's just making a weird noise, I have no idea what could be the cause.

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=XwYSdD4fyRU

The ticking, in this video, is exactly the same. The only difference. Undermines the fact every 1 min, sometimes every 2 minutes... and sometimes all 3 or 4 minutes. And he just does the ticking sound once. not again and again.

If a tick from time to time. You can hear only - when everything is guiet? Just a tick and it disappears for a while?

Does that mean that my drive has failed? Reason why I'm asking. After a year of use, the hard drive has failed-It just died. Dell has replaced the disc/Msata too. It was near another year, with replacement. Is this a sign that I should back up and save all my info. Contact dell.

Here I am again, a bit frustrated... Has achieved a good response when I posted... but nothing else after that... Different response of old Story/Issue...same... (((I thought of it out on mine)))

Don't know if that's the right answer, but I thought that if there was someone out there with the same problem, it might give you some answers.

After reading and Goggling... I found a few different answers... "My favorite, but NOT CORRECT"... Your drive is dying, you must back up all the files and save them to an external disk, before it fails... where there is a click or a bad sector... it will multiply and more.

Of course, there is a simple answer from someone who knows nothing about the hard drive. But incorrect. Especially if you do not experience problems or blue screens.

A hard click or clunk, may be two different things. Non of them pointing to a player out. Depending on the player, it could be a bad sector. It could be one of 2 things, "THERMAL CALIBRATION ROUTINES", or it could be "ADVANCE DRIVE PROTECTION".

I don't understand how an any of them work, but a quick Google search should provide you with answers.

On my drive a simple defrag helped. Now I hear the noise, every once and awhile. Sometimes I don't hear it at all in a session. You are not sure if it was a coincidence? But I feel much better knowing what to do.

Thanks for reading my question and post

  • Issue of Dell inspiron 15r is 7520 switchable graphics...

    Hello

If I go into Device Manager and disable the chart of intel integrated the computer will only work on radeon HD graphics card? or will this mess up my screen thanks

The system does not at all if you disable the Intel GPU.  All video data through the GPU from Intel, by design.  The AMD GPU is just a coprocessor.

There is no way to force the system to use the AMD GPU full-time - it is not hooked up to work this way (only the GPU from Intel is connected to the display surface - the AMD GPU has no physical connection to screen other than the GPU from Intel, which is part of the processor (and which is welded in turn constantly to the system board).)
