  • Windows Media Center Vista don't tune in digital channels of PCI digital tuner tv.

I recently installed a new Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1600 NTSC? ATSC/QAM tuner in my computer. Its a dual core 2.66 mhz 4GB Ram running Windows Vista Home premium with Windows Media Center. The tuner is made to work with Windows Media Center according to its box. He also had his own software cleaner, IE. WinTV, which I also loaded. I have an antenna hanging good input on the tuner card. That same exact antenna wire hooked to a digital TV Gets the following strings... 6.1 and 6.2 - 6.3 - 8.1 - 8.2-8.3-17.1-17.2 - 17.3 - 22.1
WinTV those gets exactly the same channel list and can display them all. Windows Media Center, after the execution of the installation routine, list the same channels, but do not think that all. Problem channels are 8.2 - 8.3 - 17.1 - 17, 3.  These channels show in the guide as "No Data Available" and when you select them, there is no signal detected. Yet, channel 8.1 and 17.1 gave Guide and discover very well. It is interesting when you go through special antenna Signal: settings: TV: Digital TV the 8.2 problem channels - 8.3 - 17.1 - 17, 3 list all the and are verified with check marks and show full signal strength. I spent time trying to play with the Guides Add announcement & edit channels and add missing channels. Also, I spent time with "Set Up TV signal" several times.
Any suggestions? Why is the windows media center grateful but not display secondary digital channels, still recognizing and displaying the primary digital channel very well. It can be the signal or the pilots, because MyTV of Hauppage shows them all very well.
    Help?

Try windows update.  I use this card with media center 7 and had no problem getting all the digital channels.

  • With windows media center on the network.

I have my directv and computers connected to the internet and I try to use windows media center, but it says that it cannot find the tuner when I try to set up the tv. I have a Toshiba A215 with Windows Vista home premium (which apparently has no tuner). I need a tuner since I have everything connected to a network?  My tv wil recognize the computer: I use directv VOD and can get pictures from my computer, but the library does not recognize the tv. I use media center as it seems it would be an easy way to organize media.  I was also wondering if you can use media center or y at - it another way to other internet videos on TV (i.e. youtube...).  I have some suggestions that I'm not a person savy very tech.

    Hello hillsiderWH,

Seems that your windows installation is missing most important files, I suggest you boot to the top with your windows media center installation CD and run repair on the windows installation. This will replace any missing files and I hope that your media center up and running. If this isn't the case, it could be a problem in the registry.

  • Where to go to set the channel missing from the Windows Media Center Program Guide

    Hi people,

Hoping that someone like Barb Bowman (or a person with any with any part of the Windows Media Center team still it exists) can help me with this.  I'm missing a channel in my programming.  His 668 (Discovery HD) channel, and my program guide is for Seattle, Comcast King County South (digital). I spoke with Comcast, with Ceton Corp (manufacturing of my digital cable tuner card) and with Zap2it (info guide provider program for WMC).  All of them confirm what a) 668 is in my registration, b) 668 is tunable my card, and c) 668 announces are included in the current program guide data from Zap2it.  My data to guide program is also completely updated according to WMC. Zap2it has suggested that I use this site to submit the question to Microsoft:

  • Internet of Windows media center tv missing tiles.

    Hello:

Lately I had problems with Windows Media Center (WMC). When you click on internet tv tile, read the message "no content available) and just hung on this screen. Until recently, after clicking on the internet tv of tiles, I had several tiles it contains with many programs available. After some research, I found a thread here on social responses and followed the instructions. I went in the ehome folder and delete all its content and now internet tv tile is missing.

Any suggestions on how to bring him back?

I tried uninstall WMC and reinstall, but cannot find a way to uninstall it.

I don't know if this is related but I'll post anyway; Recently, I noticed that some programs were not registered even after programming of the series to be recorded. Then I noticed that there was no information of programming after a date and a time. After some research, I found that my firewall was blocking mcupdate and ehome mcupdate to access internet. I think he corrected by adjusting the settings in my firewall.

Installed tuner card / WMC in September of this year and so far, has worked without problem.

    System information:

Windows 7 Home premium running on HP P6310f

    AMD Athlon II x 4

    64 bit OS

    Thanks in advance

    Hello, Jose

You are in the United States, the United Kingdom or another region?
Internet TV is not available outside the US / UK.

Are you using the built in Windows Firewall or another?
What security software do you use?

If you do not use the built in Windows Firewall, make sure that the executable files in c:\windows\ehome\ are allowed through.

In addition, try reinstalling Internet TV.

First, go to start, Control Panel, uninstall a program, then check if Internet TV for Windows Media Center is listed. If this is the case, select it and choose uninstall.

Then go to start, all programs, accessories, click with the right button on command prompt and choose Run as administrator. At the command prompt, run the following command and press ENTER: start/wait %windir%\ehome\mcupdate - uf-nogc

After it is finished running, open Media Center and check if Internet TV is available or not.

  • Windows Media Center "to listen or look at a conflict"... does not recognize the TV tuner

I have completely exhausted the forum Windows Media Center for response to the resolution of this problem. I replaced my unit ATI TV Wonder Digital Cable Ready, as well as my graphics card tuner, and WMC still says 'No TV Tuner Found"and the message" listen or look at a conflict - no tuner available to meet the current demand "when I try to watch live TV. I have also a "no tuner hardware detected... Please ensure equipment is installed correctly...» "if I try to set up the TV Tuner again.

I don't think that my answer lies in Windows Media Center or hardware from ATI. I'm now trying to figure out if it involves this feature installed at the factory of HP listed on the bottom of my computer: "GENUINE WINDOWS VISTA HOME Premium TUNER DIGITAL". I understand that it is the software and hardware.

I would be grateful if anyone has answers. If anyone knows what this function is that was installed at the factory, and how I can uninstall and reinstall the software and replace the hardware, I understand that too.

    Thank you

After unsuccessfully trying everything I could find that had the potential to solve my problem, I finally solved the problem myself.

It's actually a corrupted Windows file that allows my TV tuner, which caused all my problems. I reinstalled my Vista operating system to its original state, and now the ATI TV tuner works fine. Easier said than done.

  • Windows Media Center will not recognize TV tuner Digital stations live

I am trying to display and record all my content from TV on my laptop using my hybrid analog/digital TV tuner card. So far, the WMC recognizes the analog content. But my cable provider provides many channels of ClearQAM I can see on my TV without a decoder, just using the QAM tuner in the TV. My tuner card is supposed to recognize the QAM signals, so I should be able to view all unencrypted content (users) that comes through the coaxial feeder on my portable tuner. But no luck so far. When I set up the TV signal in WMC, the menu only listed setup analog cable my cable box, even though I know that my cable company provides digital content.
I had actually upgraded my Windows Media Center to include the TV pack (downloaded from Engadget) but even this last version does not recognize digital channels. If I try to change the Program Guide and add them manually, all I get is static when I select the. I am at a loss to know what to do next. Is this a problem that should fix a new TV tuner? I heard good things about the AverMedia card, maybe I should just go that route? Can anyone recommend a new tuner card?

  • Windows Media Center TV tuner not detected

My current operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2
    (I installed SP2 from microsoft.com)
I have the Version of the Windows Media Center - Windows Vista 6.0.6002.18030 software (vistasp2_gdr.090429 - 2357).  I'm trying to watch TV on my laptop.  I have Windows Media Center and am confused about the version because I saw this - if the version number is 6.0.6001.18000, you are NOT running Windows Media Center TV Pack.  You are running the version of Windows Media Center, which is included in Windows Vista or in Windows Vista SP1.

As you can see my version (numbers) are alittle different on the end, also the info in parentheses (vistasp2_gdr.090429 - 2357) I don't know what that means.  When I tried to configure the tv signal in Windows Media Center, I was told: the TV signal cannot be configured because no tv tuner hardware was detected. So, how can I find out if there is an internal tv tuner installed and everything is not detected?  My laptop is new - 3 weeks, and I think that all the drivers are current.   While they inspected the help windows vista hardware compatibility list for 64-bit vista tv tuners, I was flooded for more information that I knew what to do with.  I'm obviously not a computer genius and will never be.  I'm open to suggestions.  I just need to know what I have to do to be able to watch TV on my laptop.  Any help will be appreciated! Thank you.
