Two radial gradient colors

Imagine a radial gradient that goes from red to the center of transparant. Then cut it in half. Then on the bottom, I need to go from blue to the Center transparant. As radial. How do I do this in Illustrator? I want it to look as if it was all the same radial gradient... just red on top and blue on the bottom. I mocked upward in Photoshop below. But I want to know if I can do that in Illustrator. I couldn't understand it.example.jpg

Julie,

A simple way to do this might be:

(1) create two full gradients above the other;

(2) create a circle (at least) of the same size on the very top and remove half of it (direct selection up or down Anchor Point, press DELETE, then Ctrl / Cmd + J);

(3) select the semicircle and the gradient of foreground and object > clipping mask > make.

Edit: Hi Scott. 2 clipping masks?

    try to use a gradient instead of the net?

    You can use the path search tool to convert forms in one section, then gradient to create the dark lines where are the current limits.

    Or you can use "pen" one of them, to blend the overlap, but you may need to add the pen to a slightly larger copy of the object and your current border point to create a mask in order to keep the edges you want to stay strong and just leave an edge of more than in the other form.

  • What is close-angle and focus distance in radial gradients in CSS?

    Read the reference (http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2.0/api/javafx/scene/doc-files/cssref.html#typepaint) I found these two values that you can set in a radial gradient definition:

    radial-gradient([*focus-angle* <angle>,]?) [* focus-distance * < percent >]? [< point > central]? RADIUS [< length > | < percent >] [[repeat | reflect],]? (< color-stop > [, < color-stop >] +)

    Could someone enlighten me what they mean? I wrote a small tool for Visual definition of Gradients (http://88.198.17.44/blog/2012/04/13/it-works-fxexperience-tools-gradienteditor-plugin/) as an extension to the FXExperience tools, and I would include if it makes sense.

    Thank you

    Focus-angle and distance from development are used together to determine the focal point of the radial structure.

  • Translate the focal point of a radial gradient?

    Hello

    Working from the great response in this thread, I'm trying to move the center point of the gradient of an object. Here's my test code:

    var idoc = app.activeDocument;
    var ipath =  idoc.selection[0];
    ipath.translate(
        100, // deltaX
        100, // deltaY
        false, // transformObjects
        false, // transformFillPatterns
        true, // transformFillGradents
        false // transformStrokePattern
    );

    Unfortunately, nothing I have try actually works.

    Anyone know what the trick is to place the origin of a radial gradient?

    Thank you!

    Why don't you use the code in the great response this thread?

    you left out some vital lines

    // transform gradients findings
    // select a path item with a gradient applied to it before running the script

    var idoc = app.activeDocument;
    var ipath =  idoc.selection[0];
    var fillcolor = ipath.fillColor;

    ipath.filled = false; // remove previous gradient transformations, to be able to apply new ones ??

    ipath.fillColor = fillcolor; // re apply the same gradient color, without transformations.
    ipath.fillOverprint = ipath.fillOverprint; // without this, the gradient won't move or scale, but it does rotate ??

    ipath.translate(
        100, // deltaX
        100, // deltaY
        false, // transformObjects
        false, // transformFillPatterns
        true, // transformFillGradents
        false // transformStrokePattern

  • Radial gradient brush and adjustment does not

    Thanks in advance to anyone who knows how to solve this problem.

    I'm unable to create new effects of radial gradient brush or setting. I first experienced this issue to the point 3.6 of Lightroom, but it is always persistent in LR 6 on my Windows 7 PC.

    I just changed a picture of the normal characteristics (JPG, 4128 x 2322 px turned on a laptop Samsung Galaxy S4) and I had asked a color gradient that I wanted to get back to no color and leave the other settings of development. If there is another way to do, I don't know how, but I did click on the Panel of nuance of color under the sharpness slider in the gradient panel edit. Once you click on the color chart a range of Hue/Saturation/Lightness selector will appear titled 'Select a color' with an input field of degree of tint in the lower right corner. I deleted the value in this box and pressing the Enter key believing he would remove the color of gradient, but it did not. Now, the sample of color for this or any other previously defined gradient is visible - but I don't have a sample of color on gradients of news or adjustments. The area of shade of color under the sharpness slider is absent or invisible. Color gradients are not a show-stopper, but I cannot apply any brush, gradient, radial or the setting of any image. Existing setting seems to work as expected, but I can't create new gradients or adjustments.

    The screenshot here shows the view when I have an existing gradient selected on the left and the issue of the missing color on the right sample. He is the culprit of the whole issue or not, I couldn't say no, but since I cannot apply adjustments after you make this single change, I suspect that it is related. I will proceed with more details below, but this is the summary of my problem.

    adjustment_brush_issue.jpg

    More details:

    After the first encounter this problem, I tried another image with no different results. I then tried Lightroom which presented me with a new problem of restart. In LR 3.6 when I tried to apply an adjustment or gradient image would appear as a full scale of gray ~ 128 but I didn't not measure its value. By selecting a State previous history would return the image but any later attempt to apply an adjustment or gradient resulted once again in gray. I then tried to restart my computer with no different results. Suspecting some core file might have been corrupted I then ran repair on LR 3.6 installation but no change - grayscale even if I tried an adjustment on all images. Not wanting to waste a lot of time to reinstall LR 3.6 I decided upgrade to LR 6 (no creativity cloud) hoping that this file of basic or other setting would be crushed. Without success. After the purchase and download of LR 6 a few hours ago, I tried to open the file and make adjustments. While it is no longer the image into a layer of gray blankets, I am still unable to create a radial gradient brush or setting. I suspected it might be the catalog at this stage and have completed just import and tests of other files with no real difference from above.

    Help, please. Thank you

    Thank you once again Bob. I tried the option restore default Presets before you double click the word color, and the issue of gray Panel is back, though only intermittently. Sometimes he will apply a layer of gray on the image and view point which indicates the middle of the slope, while other times it does not display the layer gray or dowry.

    Oh, I just discovered a few new questions:

    1 choose a new image in the film changes the navigator thumbnail, but not the main cloth in the Center.

    2. when I tried to delete the point of gradient I created (or have tried to create above) I received the following error message (included for the search to find):

    Unexpected error executing the command:

    cr_params_applySettings_lua:

    dng_error_bad_format

    Which brings me to this post: Lightroom: problem exporting the images when spotting served

    and subsequently retrieve the catalog and images after the reset of the preferences that worked. I deleted the preferences file and the gradients are now working as expected. The options menu in Lightroom > Edit > preferences > Presets > Reset all default etc etc... not reset these preferences successfully so manually delete the files seems to be the solution.

  • radial gradient with relative positions and absolute RADIUS length

    Hello

    I tried provide a style with a radial gradient in the upper right corner of a control, but apparently the use of relative positions does not work well combined with a length of absolute RADIUS:
    .myStyle{
        -fx-background-color: radial-gradient(center 100% 0%, radius 8px, red, white);
    }
    place the center of the gradient to the upper left corner, although it must be placed in the upper right corner. If the RADIUS is defined as ratio (10%), the implementation of the pole is correct. Is there a general constraint prevents this works?

    ARO
    Jens

    My guess is that, like the class RadialGradient has a method isProportional which acts on the Center and the RADIUS, as css just implemenets the settings of the proportionality of the RadialGradient as something all or nothing, but that is not documented in the guide of the css.

    http://docs.Oracle.com/JavaFX/2/API/JavaFX/scene/paint/RadialGradient.html#isProportional%28%29
    http://docs.Oracle.com/JavaFX/2/API/JavaFX/scene/doc-files/cssref.html#typepaint

    I would advise you connecting a jira request that documentation or implementation is updated.

  • Radial gradient of resolution

    Hello

    I have a file with a radial gradient as background to an image. All the elements of the file are 300 dpi with the exception of the radial gradient.

    How can I check the resolution of the items and how can I make sure that the gradient is 300 dpi?

    I use illustrator CS5.

    Thank you in advance,

    one

    Illustrator is an independent implementation of the resolution, as all the vector app using native tools to create shapes, then fill it with the color (or gradients) creates vector content that does not have a resolution. If you have created the gradient using illustrator gradients, there is no resolution to check.

  • Question of Tablet pressure. Possible to set the pressure gradient color =?

    Hello!

    Not sure if this is possible, but here's what I would do:

    Tablet pressure equal to the gradient colors.

    If I put the primary and secondary colors. The lighter I caress the closest color.
    Example of
    Color A = Blue
    Color B = Red

    Stroke light blue =
    Blow hard = red
    Way races = purple

    That would make really quick rough colouring I think. Can it be done?

    (CS5 + Intuos 4)

    Thank you

    / EDIT: also is possible in Gradients to use more advanced settings? Instead of having just 2 colors and a hotline between them, could I make a curved line? It's not as important as the main issue.

    IE: Beginning at 100: 100, go to 95:90, 90:80, 85:70... etc. 00:00

    Instead of 100: 100, 90:90, 80:80, 70:70

    Hard to explain

    Sorry, neither of the two options are possible.

  • gradient color in JDE 4.5

    I use Jde 4.5. I want to fill a rectangle with a gradient color effect rounded edge. I know it can be done in 4.6 above using the base class. Is it possible to do the same thing in 4.5 also

    4.5, you don't exactly "set background".  You paint using drawTexturedPath (drawBitmap that draws a rectangle, but you want a rounded, so drawTexturedPath is suitable).  For more information on how to create the correct path and types of points for a rounded rectangle, look here;

    Code of blackBerry to a rectangle rounded with gradient fill

    This article, however, uses the net.rim.device.api.ui.decor methods, which are not available prior to 4.6. You need to replace it with their drawShadedFilledPath with your drawTexturedPath.  DrawTexturedPath settings should be as follows:

    xPts, yPts, pointTypes - remove the above article

    offsets - null (once again, as in the article)

    xOrigin, yOrigin - 0, 0

    DUX, dvx, duy, dvy - Fixed32.toFP (1), 0, 0, Fixed32.toFP (1) respectively (you do not rotate or scaling the bitmap, are you?  Hell, maybe you are - if you use fields of different heights.  Then look at the parameter dvy)

    Bitmap - any Bitmap that you generate using suggestion of Hithredin.

    Good luck!

  • Apply a radial gradient of irregular shape

    I am trying to add a radial gradient to an elliptical shape (or irregular) so that the transition is uniform around the edges, but in contrast to the circle, where it is homogeneous, in the irregular shape, it is concentric applied. • Apply multiple fills with radial gradient to a single shape - Illustrator CC

    Hi, I'm following this tutorial (http://vectips.com/tutorials/how-to-create-realistic-vector-leaves-in-illustrator/comment-page-1 / # comment - 744800) and I'm step 6/7 where I need to add 3 new fills with a different radial gradient and then apply them to different areas of the worksheet to create a variety of tones gradial.

    However, once I did the new filling I press 'G' to bring up the gradient tool, but when I click inside the leaf area my new filling disappears and the last radial gradient fill that I made is highlighted instead. Hope that makes sense, I want to just apply a gradient of light to the corner of the map light green as the tutorial described in 'Step 7'.

    I noticed that you do not select anything in the first screenshot.

    In Illustrator, the panels always reflect the attributes of the selection. So maybe that has changed when you selected the object in order to change it?

  • How to distinguish between linear and radial gradients in Javascript

    Hey guys,.

    I noticed that some some scripts im using cant always target linear and radial gradients. I was curious to know why it was and where the information about the time a linear or radial gradient is stored or how it can be accessed. So far, no luck.

    That's what I have so far, it doesn't tell me anything besides a pathItem given has a "GradientColor." as fillColor is, I can not understand the syntax to test whether it is linear or radial.

    #target illustrator
    var doc = app.activeDocument

    for(x=0; x<doc.pathItems.length; x++){
    alert (doc.activeLayer.pathItems[0].fillColor);
    }

    I tried to fix at the end but there always indefinite returnes.

    . TypeName

    .gradient

    . GradientType

    and another thing I could find in the CS6 refrence guide.

    Advice or direction would be greatly appreciated.

    you're close, you need to target the real gradient object to get its properties

    alert (doc.activeLayer.pathItems[0].fillColor.gradient.type);
