• Security filters for the Types of Plan of ASO in 11.1.2.3

  
  All,

  My understanding of security filters for the Types of Plan of ASO in 11.1.2.3, is that they are not as robust as Types of Plan of traditional BSO are. Is this true? If so, can I restrict access to users who are assigned to the ASO Plan Type to display only and read/write on the private accounts and entities (for example)?

  The limitation that you refer is a bit confusing.  In summary, the planning will not create Essbase security filters on a data base of the ASO.  However, this does NOT mean that you will not have security on the Type of Plan of ASO.  Instead, it depends on which tool you are using to access the Type of Plan of ASO.

  If you want to connect to the ASO Plan type planning or tool (e.g., EN) with a connection to planning, you'll be fine.  The planning gets its security filters Essbase security information.  It gets its information from the relational repository security.  So the planning and the EN (with a connection to planning) are supported.  Security works as you would expect, even for the Type of Plan of ASO.

  If you want to connect on the type of Plan of ASO with something that requires a * Essbase * (not planning) connection, it only is not supported out-of-the-box, because planning will not create filters on the ASO cube (at least not yet in this version).  However, there is nothing that prevents you from creating filters on your own.  I usually manage all of my safety in an Excel/VBA model that allows me to export/import the Essbase security planning and.  This allows me to apply specific to Essbase filters after a refresh (by importing the custom filters via MaxL).

  So the question is... what tool you will use to access the Type of Plan of ASO?  If you use a connection of planning, you're good.  If you use a connection of Essbase, should be a personalized approach.

  I'm trying to understand the ASO cubes. I have following the request.
  In dynamic hierarchies, we can have formulas that can be referenced as members stored.
  According to my understanding of the dynamic hierarchies are always calculated real-time retreival and the value of the formula is never stored.
  If this is true then what is the meaning to classify a forumla in dynamic hierarchy as stored?

  The hierarchy is dynamic and can contain members with or without formulas. For example, a scenario dimension can have
  Scenario of
  -Real
  -Budget
  -Variance (actual formula - Budget)

  There are data stored both actual and Budget, but the Member that variance is calculated dynamically. If we expand the size a bit, so we have
  Real
  -System_Actuals
  -Adjustments

  The calculation of actual expenditures would be dynamic in addition to Variance

  You need several hierarchies enabled. 2010 weekend Sam must be stored separate hierarchies.

  BTW - it would be easier and I think on a higher functional level if you have used a dim attribute instead of an alt roll up, but your choice.

• Calculations of the rate of aggregation in essbase ASO SEEP cubes

  The question (limitation to ASO) we tried to find a solution/workaround. ON PBCS (Cloud)
  

  Details of the application:

  
  Application: type of ASO in cloud Oracle planning 11.1.2.3 (PBCS) application

  
  Dimension : Total 8 dimensions. Account to the dynamic hierarchy. Remaining 7 dimensional hierarchies Stored value. Only 2 dimensions have about 5000 members and others are relatively small and flat hierarchies.

  Description of the question of the requirement: We have a lot of calculations in the sketch that use amount = units * rates type of logic. The obligation is such that these calculation logic should apply only to the intersections of Level0 and then data resulted must roll up (down) to the respective parents across all dimensions. But when apply us this hierarchical logic / formula calculation to ASO, the logic(i.e.,amount=units*rate) of calculation is applied at all levels (not only the leaf level) of remaining dimensions. Here, rates are also numbers derived using the formula MDX.

  Some of the options explored so far:
  Option1: This is an expected behavior in ASO as all stored hierarcies are calculated first, then the dynamic hierarchies. So we tried to change the formula for each of the calculated members to explicitly summarize data at parent levels using algorithm as shown below.

  IF (Leaf Level combination)
  amount = units * rate
  Else / * for all levels parents * /.
  Use the function sum adding up the amounts between the children of the current members of dimension1, dimension2 and so on.
  End

  Result: Recovery works through the parents for a dimension. When the summary level members are selected in 2 or more dimensions, the recovery freezes.

  Option2: Change the type of hierarchy to group all the dimensions to "Dynamic" so that they calc after account (i.e. after amount = units * rate runs at intersections Level0).

  Result: Same as option 1. Although the aggregation works through one or 2 dimensions, it freezes when the summary level members are from many dimensions.

  Option3: ASO use custom Calc.
  We created a custom calc by fixing the POV Level0 members of any size and with the amount of formul = units * rate.

  Result: Calc never ends because the rate used is a dynamic calc with formula MDX (which is needed to roll forward rates for a specified period at all the following exercises).

  Your best bet is to use the allocation of the ASO, what difference does make. (one ton)

  There are a few messages blog out there that can help you meet this goal. (including mine), the trick is to create a member calculated with a NONEMPTYMEMBER in the formula

  Then it will be a member with an inside MDX formula

  NONEMPTYMEMBER units, rates

  Units * rates

  Now, make a copy of data (allocation) of this member-to-Member stored.

  Let's Plan A has five dimensions and plan b is six dimensional. I need eleven dimension in my application. My question is - who I create software, ASO can merge times the dimension of plan member in a single application of ASO.

  Not always 2 + 2 gives you 4. Similarly, fusion 6 dimensions of type of a single plan and 5 on the other doesn't really mean you should have 11 dimensions in your application to aso. Do not create separate dimensions for common dimensions. That is, both types of plan should include an entity dimension so Aso, you should have 1 entity only.
  2 types of different plan to a single ASO cube data is quite difficult, but can take you re - write a little MDX formulas. However, take this as a starting point. Instead of merge requests, rather flatten by including all members in dimensions, regardless of their type of source.
  For example, in the account dimension you have 4 accounts, 2 of them are in Plan 1 and 2 are in Plan 2. Ultimately in your ASO you should have 4 accounts of course in the same database.

  -In this respect - it is so possible that your device is just alert because of these function keys, which will be always connected on the side of license for the device.  If you had not implemented the function keys, then it would be a false problem and safe to ignore.  The feature would just stop working when the expiration date is reached.

• Not refreshed to Essbase storage properties

  We have been seeing this problem for the last 2 days.

  We have a few members in the dimension of account that are identified as being dynamic Calc. When update us the application, these members are considered store in essbase.

  We then changed the property to the store in the planning and refreshed the application and then again changed their dynamic Calc and refreshed then members are considered as dynamic Calc.

  Is this a bug? version used is 11.1.2.4

  It is not a bug, check the formula tab and see which is the property of storage for each type of plan.

  I think that this feature was introduced with the type of Plan of ASO. Still doesn't have a chance to post about it. (Maybe in a few days I'll)

• updating automated metadata Essbase in RPD OBIEE file?

  Anyone know how it is possible to update the physical layer of the RPD file meta data? Bottom line is that we have integrated several essbase cubes into OBIEE. One of the cube is updated on a daily basis and all levels generated in some dimensions can change daily. The idea is to reimport the essbase (physical layer, activities and presentation) metadata automatically after calculation of cube essbase has been successfully completed. But I found no documentation how to automate administration tool.

  So any advice would be great.

  If you set your "Type of hierarchy" in the physical layer to the 'value' it will work automatically as a child without any table (Essbase is already working with parent-child relationships, so no need for any additional table).

  Hi gurus,

  I'm on 11.1.2.3 and using contour load utility to extract and load the metadata.

  Extraction of metadata has been successful for Classic and EPMA application. But loading of metadata is effective only for Classic and fails for applications of EPMA.

  He tried different servers, but face the same question. Tried in both web interface and also by running the batch file.

  Please let me know if you have encountered this problem.

  I have the hierarchy of entities such as:

  1234-abc-777

  -1234-abc-777-a11

  -1234-abc-777-b12

  -1234-abc-777-c15

  and I have to copy the benefit rate which present in 1234-abc - 777-> usd - > real-> 1234-abc-777 children final. I can't hard-code as I haved this type of hierarchy of 30.

  Is it possible to use any function to get 1234-abc-777-a11. I tried to use the function @Match dim crosswise but I receive the error message when running the script.

  Note:-a11 is common in any other hierarchy 30.

  Glenn, I agree that it will create blocks that are not required if you use the DATACOPY approach. But it may be advantageous to have your rate to the level that you are calculating the data (but only for valid data of block combinations)

  The way I approach this kind of requirement is using this three-step process. I have a previous post where I posted a detailed script.

  1. set on RELATIVE("Entity",0), but delete the entities holding rates, in this case use a UDA called RATE_INPUT for example and assign to entities where you enter the rate.

  Then using calc dense 'rate' = #missing to clear the old values from rates against all entities not RATE_INPUT

  2 aggregate rate to the entity above, where the rate is entered. This will mean that the entity kinship is equal to the entity that has RATE_INPUT uda

  3. FIX on RELATIVE("Entity",0) but remove the entities holding rates

  Then using calc dense 'rate' = @PARENTVAL (Entity) to enter the tax rate of the parent.

  The advantage of this method is to push a rate only to entities that already have an existing block. So not more your database or the number of blocks

  I use version 11.1.2.3.

  I am loading new members, IE, metadata.

  First, I exported the dimensions of accounts using the utility. I then imported. 13 records of 13 files import successfully. I then added the Member of "Cash", that was inserted in line 7:

  "Cash" he already has part of the application to make it load? That is why the utility seems pretty useless with respect to the loading of the new metadata. I already checked that there are no special characters in the name of the Member 'Cash '. There is no empty space at the end of the line. So why would I get this error?

• MaxL create Application problem

  I go through the MaxL shell.
  I'm learning simple as commands create application.
  I have a few questions about creating an application of MaxL.
  
  The syntax is:
  
  create or replace the application Application_Name type unicode/nonUniCode_Mode like CopyApplication_Name how 'xxxxx'.
  
  When we create a MaxL application, the application is created is what type? It is ASO or type OSB?
  
  or how would I know that if this is the type of ASO or OSB?
  
  If I need to create a particular type of application is ASO/BSO, how could I achieve this?

  You have a different syntax for the creation of ASO and BSO applications using MAXL, the stmt above you mentioned is to create an app BSO.

  To create an app of the ASO, you use

  create [or replace] APPNAME application use a comment aggregate_storage 'YOUR COMMENTS.';

• Generic dimension (secure)

  When I enable security on a "generic" dimension, is possible to have data roll up completely upwards (the name of the actual size)
  
  For example, I have this type of hierarchy

  Product ALT 5 ~.
  
  I want my users to be able to see the 10 to the dimension 'product' in a sheet. Right now, they have to change "Total Product" to see a number. I can't
  find a way to give them access to the 'product' - is it POSSIBLE?

  You cannot apply security at the level of the dimension, it must generally be given to a child under the root of the dimension.

  First you need to get the values of this profile option (resp. system administrator > profile > system).
  In addition, when you use fnd_profile.value, you must specify the option of internal profile name and not the name of user profile option (maybe they are the same in your case?).
  And also, in general, you need to specify your context before calling fnd_profile. You can use fnd_global.apps_initialize to do this.
