Type special characters in the character map

How do I enter special in character map charaters, when they are not visible? With this font, Roman playground Pro, they do not appear under "unicode" but rather "Basic Latin", "formulas"Terminal"or"Initial forms", which none appear in the table of characters."

    The equations are a problem. If the equation is text, you can be lucky if you have the fonts on your system. Most of the time I have try, the fonts in the equation are garbage. Expect to have to retype the equations and some special characters. Much also depends on the existence of the fonts on your system. Just in my experience, the equations are almost impossible to convert.

  • How to make a star of five strong points by using the character map?

    I can't get a solid star of five points of the "character map". I tried all the fonts that have a star, and when I paste, I get a different, but no star character. I tried the system, to get the characters using the 'ALT KEY' and the numeric keypad on the right side of the keyboard, but, here again, when I type the code for a solid Star (9733 in the list that I got on the internet) a different character appears. I have Vista and use Firefox. I tried to use 'IE' but still have the same problem. Any suggestion will be highly appreciated. Thank you

    Hello Cor - el, I thank you for your help. I used some of your information, and after going to different websites, I found one that had a small application that allows me to insert the star.

  • is it possible to insert special characters in the text of a label control

    Can I insert an ascii extended character as a symbol of 'degree' (0xF8) in the label of a front panel control?

    Thank you.

    If you know the decimal ASCII code.  F8 is equal to 176, then hold down the Alt key and type in the number in the form of 4 digits on the keypad.

    So Alt-0176 on the numeric keypad enter the character directly without having to mess with the character map application.

    Another good thing to know is Alt-0177 which is ± (plus/minus symbol).

    I think it's just the Unicode text, so if you include these characters when you submit the form, they will display.

    Your question is perhaps more on how to insert these characters into the HTML form. To do this, because I need it rarely, I didn't copy and paste of a website where I can find the required text. For example, Google for 'unicode ball' and you can find one of them on one of the first findings of the research, such as the Wikipedia article.

    Some people probably have their systems set up to type Unicode directly from their keyboard, but I never got to determine the modern way to do this (and the last time I checked, years, Unicode in operating systems support was still largely missing).

  • Special characters in the classic report

    Hello

    I'm unable to display special characters in the classic report.

    "For example""" is coming as ' '.

    Is there a way to fix this?

    It seems that use characterset "WE8ISO8859P15" is causing this issue, which is a single-byte character set and so unable to encode these characters.

    Please correct me if I'm wrong.

    How can I insert emoji or other special characters in a document using Adobe Acrobat Pro XI?  I went to special characters from the Edit menu and may not understand how to insert the special character in the document.

    He's not that kind of editor. You can use the characters in a font. If you can select a font with the emoji, which fits into the case, and then enter the characters, it can work.

    This suggests that you try to do TOO MUCH with a PDF file. It is a common thing, but the message should be: everything simply because you can edit a PDF file, does not mean that it is the most effective way for you to do your job.

    I want to eliminate this manual process to give all special characters using a chr() or ascii() function.

  • empty data file with special characters in the name

    Hi all

    I'm having a problem with an empty data file which is in recovery mode.

    Before the following has been a success:
    ALTER database create datafile 'fully_qualified_file_name' as 'fully_qualified_file_name ';
    recover data file "fully_qualified_file_name";
    ALTER database datafile 'fully_qualified_file_name' online;

    But this time it does not work as I get an error:
    ORA-01516: file nonexistent journal, data file, or temporary file
    Using the file id does not work either.

    When I created a record of control file I see the data file has special characters in the name:
    ' / oracle/PRD/112_64/dbs/PSPR3I ^? ^?'

    Since it is empty, it would be possible to create the data file void anothr
    using the:
    ALTER database create datafile ' / oracle/PRD/112_64/dbs/PSPR3I ^? ^?'
    as ' / oracle/PRD/spdata2/r3i_8/r3i.data8';

    and then recover datafile 'fully_qualified_file_name ';
    ALTER database datafile 'fully_qualified_file_name' online;

    How orders oracle faced with special characters?

    Thanks for your advice

    It should work using a file as the definition of source file number and a new name for the new file. Works for me:

    orcl> alter database create datafile 7 as 'c:\tmp\newname.dbf';

    Database altered.

  • Add special characters in the legends

    Is it possible to add a special character to a legend, other than the VERY limited selection of the Insert symbol in the properties option? I need to put the arrow as part of a statement? I'm new to Captivate and use a trial version to see if the company should buy it. Could be my problem?

    Hi LyonLover and welcome to our community

    No, the trial version has nothing to do with anything. I know that many people use tests that are limited in capabilities. But with Captivate, the trial is the 'real deal' and your only limit is the time and the fact that you can not disable the expiration of any project that you create until you register.

    If you're not finding the characters you want in the settings Insert symbol (and I assume that you have already clicked on the link "other...) ("to bottom of the first dialog box see you) you could try clicking Start > run... (On Windows) and type charmap. And then press ENTER. This should display the applet of the Windows character map. Once there, you can locate and select any character you want, then copy to the Windows Clipboard and paste it in the Caption dialog box. You can find that you need to change the font scheme, you watch when you have selected the character.

    I hope this will help... Rick

  • Special characters in the password

    Hi, I have chosen a password with caracter special: now @!
    and then, it is impossible to type the character @, so I can't start my machine!
    What can I do?

    Hello
    Sorry, but now you have a big problem. For the BIOS password or supervisor password, it should be used only the following characters: a... z, a.. Z and 0... 9 paper

    Choice of some special characters will cause that the laptop not boot not. In this case, contact your authorized Toshiba Service Provider because the password must be deleted and there is no way you can do it yourself.
