Typical range of 5 GHz?

Hello

I have a question about the typical range for the GH 5 band.

I have a router dual-band of EA3500 and a WES610N dual-band universal connector of media spaced 30 feet apart - the router is on the second floor, the media connector is on the first floor.

All the floors are wood frame (no framing of concrete or metal).

I know that I have no problems with the 5 GHz signal, however, it seems that the Media connector uses the 2.4 GHz band.

Any suggestions?

Thank you

Bill

I agree with with 5 GHz band Saber-toothed. In order to use the 5 GHz range, I recommend placing the WES610n 15 feet to 20 feet away from the router. You can use for the channel width of 40 Mhz and 149 for the channel on your router wireless. This wireless configuration works for me.

For the WES610N, simply use static IP for it and manually enter settings wireless on the configuration of the gateway to entertainment page. 5 GHz is ideal for heavy network like video streaming, online games and download.

I hope this info helps

I don't think that the Droid 3 has a radio Wifi 5 GHz in it, if it has a compatible radio 2.4 GHz N. I'm not sure why Fisher can see its 5 GHz signal, but I certainly can't.

spetrillo, the 5 GHz band is not faster speed going. It has less interference and tends to be more stable, but at the cost of worse reception. The 2.4 GHz band will be as fast for you as the 5 GHz.

  • Connection speed 2.4 Ghz E3000 and USB HDD

I use WRT160N for my internet and wifi at home. For the storage of the laptop, I use Seagete Free Agent 2 TB USB 3.0, which is nice by car.

So I desided to buy E3000 and use as storage server, router, internet and wifi.

I install everything, he went peaty smoot.

During installation, I noticed that 2.4 GHz wifi shows only max 150 Mbps, but 5 GHz 300 Mbps connection speed (I use wifi mini card dell 1510 on my Dell laption, supports the 2.4 and 5 GHz).

I tried different things to the 2.4 GHz to display connection 300Mbps speed (disable 5 GHz option, set the mode to "N" only, always use WPA2, etc.), but without success. When I connect to the old WRT160N, I can see 300Mbps speed of connection.

Can you advice what settings should I set up, so that I can use connection to the E3000 300Mbps?

The second bit I want to share and comment on is the access speed to the reader of the UBS.

When I connect to the reader directly on my laptop, I am limited to 32 MB/s (256Mbps) read/write speed (the laptop is USB2.0, so it seems normal).

Now, when I write of the E3000 max speed wifi I do is about 3 to 3.5 MB/s (24-28Mbps) and when it is connected to the local network (100 Mbps) speed is about 4 - 4. 5 MB/s (32-36 Mbps).

It seems slow, peaty compared to the speed of the USB. 5 GHz wifi rate shows 300Mbps connection 144Mbps speed/2.4 Ghz (which is 18 MB/s), so that the router should be able to keep read/write rate highter.

Is this a problem E3000 or this is the max I can get material in there?

    1. it's a router not a storage attached to the network power house. If you want a NAS with high performance get a NAS. The USB HDD is more for practical reasons, then for high performance. Drive speeds you see through the router are good enough for a device like this. Check what CPU you have in your E3000 and which processors they use in NAS devices that are able to provide data of 250 Mbit/s from a connected USB device and you will see that it is a completely different League...

    2. the 150 Mbps is a rate of 20 MHz. The connection uses only a band of 20 MHz and not a 40 Mhz. This is usually due to one of these two reasons:

    a. many pilots (for example Intel Centrinos) wireless equipped with 20 MHz preconfigured on the band 2.4 GHz. It will link ever more quick then 150 Mbps, unless you change the configuration of the driver.

    b. most / all new routers observe interference of signal on the tapes and automatically returns to 20 MHz mode, if they find too much interference. If you have many other access points in your proximity 40 MHz would mean more than twice the interference on the connection. Any other communication on stuck on 40 MHz channels would interfere with your communication. With a lot of traffic interfering on the range 2.4 GHz, you would see very low real rates if you forced 40 MHz in this case.

And your neighbors using 802.11 g wouldn't really appreciate your bandwidth hogging. Because of the limited number of channels without overlapping on the 2.4 GHz band a router running on 40 MHz basically use 2/3 of the total available on the entire 2.4 GHz band available bandwidth. The execution of 40 MHz in a neighborhood with many other access points is all just a terrible idea...

HP printers don't support 5 GHz wireless frequency but only 2.4 GHz.

You can set your router to broadcust one two frequencies (Dual Band), then connect the printer to the range 2.4 GHz SSID.

All HP printers that support 802.11n use 2.4GHz only.

  • Can I choose 40 MHz to 5.2 GHz and 20 MHz to 2.4 GHz channels at the same time?

I have a WLC 5508 and 3500 6 LAP at the head office, 2 to another office and 2 to another office.

I noticed that even when I specify 5.2 GHz on my (Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230) wireless adapter it indicates the data rate is 144 Mbit/s.  I want to try to get 300 Mbps out of it and I think I need to enable 40 MHz wide channels in the range 5.2 GHz.  Well, I don't want to cause any disturbance to the network currently associated clients.  What can I do?  What happens if a client adapter does not support the wide 40 MHz channels?  Then I keep 2.4 GHz at 20 MHz wide channels, and then they would just connect to the frequency range of 2.4 GHz?

Where would I go to change the width of the channel of 5.2 GHz only?  It is defined globally or I put it for each access point?  I saw a button radio for 20 MHz or 40 MHz to this place: Wireless > 802. 11A / n > RRM > DCA

That's where I'd do the settings to change?  If I would work the clients on the network briefly?  Do 802.11n 40 MHz channels are supported by all adapters with 5.2 GHz radios?

Looking at the use of the string with a program called inSSIDer 3, there is nothing past in the band 5 GHz except for us.

Thanks for the help.  Just trying to get the best possible flow that I've had a few requests SMB based respond slowly or poorly when on... wireless connections even when the operating system reports 144 Mbps.

  • External graphics (Mac Mini)

Hey, I recently got into graphic design and am looking for an external graphics card. I did some research and heard, that it is possible to use an external graphics card which crosses the thunderbolt port. I watched some cases and adapters to do and comes to the conclusion of them being too expensive, as I will not be able to afford something that works. So I tried to find a way around it and found this solution. I would be grateful if anyone here who has a little more experience than me to tell me if this will work.

I worked on that I could get a USB 3.0 to mPCI_e converter and then plug the USB 3.0 adapter Thunderbolt and my mac mini.

I am aware that this will probably not work and so would welcome any suggestions you have. I know it's kinda a stupid question, but I have very little experience to work it myself. Having recently bought the my mac, I do not seek for a new PC, but I need some sort of solution since I was worried about the health of my mac, since it works mainly on high temperatures.

I use the middle range 2.6 GHz Mac Mini end of 2014.

    Thanks in advance.

Yo mean by "my mac because it runs mainly on high temperature?

Currently I'm not aware of any way to run an external graphics PCLe card that appears via the graphics PCLe card output. • Characteristics of the network

    Hello!

My home network is behaving oddly and I can't understand what makes. I'll try to explain.

In the living room, I have a Time Capsule, connected by a cable to a modem ethernet. The TC creates a wireless network, the router Mode is off (bridge mode).

In the House, I have one of the later versions of Airport Express, in the kitchen, one of the older models AE (the one that plugs directly into a power outlet). The two are set to expand my network. See image:

I use an iPad in the kitchen, which, in above configuration, connects to EI on the left (the one in the kitchen) with an excellent connection. I know for sure, because the AE shows 1 customer with the MAC address of my iPad.

Often, changes in configuration without reason:

The connection shows 'Just', my iPad was abandoned as a customer and now links to EI in the bedroom (shown here in the middle) with a signal strength less than optimal, of course.

Restart this AE give me the configuration, but only for a while.

    Please enlighten me. Thank you!

This is a regular problem... If the signal from the bedroom Express is better that the TC and the kitchen that express will failover to the other unit... but works really bad and not is not supposed to happen... but it doesn't.

Let me suggest a way around it is to simply make sure signal is always better the TC... you could do it using a piece of foil on a part of the wall to block the signal from the room to sunset-express to this area. Things sometimes just moving around... can achieve what you want.

The distance and most importantly the signal should be strengthened of the TC.

There is no way to control it manually... If you sometimes need to support, then set it to a different name bands 2.4 ghz and 5 GHz... then make the room TC extend the range of 5 GHz... and the kitchen a 2.4 ghz... see how it works...

  • Should I buy the time Capsule

    Hi all!

I currently have an Asus router ac68u from T Mobile. It worked well this year I got it, but with one problem. USB 3 external HARD disk configuration and the service is terrible. The firmware is crippled by T-Mobile and does not have some built-in functions that it should have. I really want to be able to use it with time machine for my MacBook pro and my IMac 27 at the same time. The problem is the speed of backups and fear to use it to view files on the internet. After days of reading and research, my first thought was to replace it with a time Capsule. I would tend to think that the installer would be much less of a headache and it would be much safer way for Mac on the normal FTP or Samba which offer other routers.

After reading so many comments, I'm wondering 3 things:

    1. the age of the technology of the time Capsule.

    2. the speed and the autonomy of the time Capsule.

    3. Wifi calling under a load.

The peak use, there will be 14 devices share the router. But the most common are scenarios, four 802.11ac devices using Skype, youtube and Netflix at the same time with a wired broadcast LAN 4 k video peripheral. And 2 readers of streaming HD video over 802.11n.

It strained my Asus router, but it keeps her on. My service is cable 150mg and I get full 150mg less than 30 feet with a single connected device. The T Mobile router does a good job at wifi under full load calls. I guess it's because the QoS configuration they use.

Then the time Capsule stand or perform at least as good as my AC68U using my home or should I be looking for a monster like the 3200 AC or an AC-5300 router and buy an external hard drive. I fear that the program installation and safety, but I don't want to lose money on the Time Capsule if it cannot follow.

You can find the specifications at support.apple.com/specs/. Then select the time Capsule to find the specs on all models from the beginning. They were initially released in 2009.

My preference would be an Airport Extreme Base Station with a connected backup USB drive. Probably just as good as the time Capsule but more reliable. Backup speed will be slightly faster than Ethernet.

I don't have experience with the help of so many features at the same time, so I can't comment on this issue.

The time Capsule and are all two AEBS Gigabit capable. Typical range is clearly brought 150 feet. Walls, windows, walls, ceilings and floors will reduce this range according to the material and the distances.

  • I have an older Airport (A1264?) Among other things, it connect to my iMac two year with Apple TV (last generation).  Once the last airport I purchase any of faster connection speed?

I have a older Airport (a 1264?) And two years iMac.  Apple TV connection is very slow. If I buy the last Airport express that would be faster or speed is limited by both in the present and not the Wi - Fi?

    Eric

The 1st Gen N express is the only band... but maybe 2.4 ghz or 5 GHz.

The news is simultaneous dual-band. This can end up significantly faster if you are in the range of 5 GHz range... Otherwise, it's exactly the same thing.

To find out if you are at the beach... hope it works same room or next if you're lucky... also no.

Or buy one and see... the test method is often the only way that produces meaningful results.

Apple store has a day 14 return.

  • Translate 'Weird' in the calculation of the capacity of MOSFET

    Hello world

I have a problem with the result of the simulation to calculate N - CH Mosfet capacitance (Cgs, CGD and CBD).

In this simulation, I tried to check my manual calculation with the result of Spice to 11.0 Multsim. But the result in Multism simulation is stopped different from the manual calculation or Pspice/Hspice simulation.

    Manual calculation:

    Multisim simulation:

    Definition of parameters in Multisim:

    . Multisim DC

    > DC of PSPICE

It appears from these results that Pspice gave a value close to the theoretical calculation of the MOSFET here.  And I got the result in Multisim.

Can someone help me solve this problem?... Multisim is not as powerful as other spices software? or simply, I messed up with the Multisim formatting settings and ended up with the wrong answer?

According to me, you go always peripheral the capacitances output variables. These would be only the capabilities reported and identical to the DC - incorrect. We checked the code and capabilities used in the analysis are the right ones.

To illustrate so, using variables real circuit - voltage and current, I calculated the impedance looking in the door to a range of 1 GHz (its a little non-trivial to demonstrate the impedance of specific capabilities because you can't get out easily aware of the capacity). The results are similar to PSpice.

So to reiterate - the real circuit test results are not affected. For now, we ask that you do not watch the variable capacitance device because it is incorrect.

    Hope that helps.

Routers "dual-band" can use one or two channels to send a signal to your devices.  If you have not a double router broadband, then it is most likely using the 2.4 Ghz frequency band.  I guess that no one has brought any internal changes to your router recently.
