• New bug Safari in Version 9.1.2 (11601.7.7)?

  This can actually be a bug in the OS X El Capitan, and I'm going to cross post this info to the community under OS X.

  Since the upgrade OS X and Safari this morning 30/07/16, I lost a specific feature across all three of my browsers I use, Safari, Chrome and Firefox.

  (So far) the problem seems to be limited to the platform of Crowdfunding to Indiegogo and results in the embedded YouTube "Video Pitch" being invisible for me when I am connected to the Indiegogo site. https://www.indiegogo.com

  To correct the problem, close the session, manually clear browser history and refresh to be able to view all the videos of Pitch. If I log in, I see is not only the embedded video pitch for my campaign, but one of the pitch videos. The problem is in the mode "view of campaign." If I select "Edit campaign", I see the fine pitch video. I tried to remove the video and to re-post the link nothing helps. I also tried to use the option "overlay on the Image for the video. I don't see view campaign mode once connected is a white space where the launch video should be. Th of the site is very well.

  Once again, this problem is the same on Safari, Chrome, and Firefox and only occurred after I have updated to OS X.

  Important to note I have not encounter any similar problem look at a YouTube videos embedded in other sites Web password required, like Wordpress, Blogger, etc. Indiegogo only and only when connected.

  Also important to note: I use Safari as my main browser, and the browser I used to set my Indiegogo campaign and that I continue to use to change.  I've only seen the campaign in Chrome a few times as a guest, but I had ever seen in Firefox before this morning, yand the exactly the same problem occurred in all three browsers. This seems to indicate a conflict related to how Mac OS interpreter Indiegogo site.

  I have a ticket open with Indiegogo. They suggested ordinary solutions, clear browser history, delete cookies, refresh, etc. But there is clearly a bug in game because it took place immediately after the upgrade to the latest version of El Capitan and occurs in the same exact way through three different browsers.

  I have a workaround, which is to use two browsers, one to edit my site, the other to see as a guest (not connected).

  Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 (15G 31)

  Safari: Version 9.1.2 (11601.7.7)

  Chrome: Version 51.0.2704.103 (64-bit)

  Try a reboot.

  Make a backup using Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure that data files can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.

  Try to set up another admin user account to see if the same problem persists. If back to my Mac is enabled in system preferences, the guest account will not work. The intention is to see if it is specific to an account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

  Isolate a problem by using a different user account

  If the problem is still there, try to start safe mode using your usual account.  Disconnect all devices except those necessary for the test. Shut down the computer and then put it up after a 10 second wait. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the SHIFT key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. Startup is considerably slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a check for directory and disables all start-up and connection, among other things. When you restart normally, the initial restart may be slower than normal. If the system is operating normally, there may be 3rd party applications that pose a problem. Try to delete/disable the third-party applications after a reboot using the UN-Installer. For each disable/remove, you need to restart if you do them all at once.

• typing in Safari

  I've got El Capitan 10.11.5 and safari 9.1.1

  I can't type in the search field.  Amazon, Facebook, Wikipedia, etc.  Typing is laggy and AutoCorrect going nuts.  I often get the beach ball.  I erased from history, all caches and extensions.  I have updated flash also.  Is it possible to reset safari to the factory?  I've tried everything.  It's only the search bars.  Any clue?

  In the Safari menu bar, please select

  ▹ Safari preferences...

  and select the "Search" tab in the window that opens. Uncheck all the boxes. Any change?

• Bug Safari ios9.3

  Since my upgrade to ios 9.3 on the air of the ipad, the links in the mail or safari do not work and the app is cold.

  There seems not to be a bug and, finally, I knew, there was no cure. The work-around, I can suggest is to get another browser and use it before that it is resolved.

  I use atomic but there are many others, so you can find one that looks good to you and use it.

• FileReference save - bug Safari for Mac

  Hey guys, I'm running into a bug with FileReference save on Safari for Mac. All other OS and browsers work fine.

  I do something like this:

  My '_completeSaveHandler' function will never fire on Safari for Mac, and the pdf file is not saved.

  When I run the above code, I get the OS' save dialogue, and when I click 'Save' to save her dialogue, dialogue closes and nothing happens.

  Clues why this would only occur on Safari for Mac?

  I added a listener for the IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR, and I get no error.

  The encoder Jpeg (using the lib of adobe), and save jpg feature works for all browsers on Mac 10.7.5, except for Safari.

  It seems that Safari doesn't save any file type - as I tried to save a PDF file (using the alivepdf library), and same story - works on all browsers except Safari Mac.

  Note that the FileReference save work in fact for all browsers on PC, including Safari 5.1.7 on PC.

  No online FileReference don't save examples work on Mac Safari 6.1.5 10.7.5, either. For example, try the example with Mac10.7.5, on this page (there is a SWF a little under the title "Examination of the sample request"):

  I'm 10.7.5, OSX Safari 5.1.7 on PC and Safari on Mac (same number on 6.1.3) 6.1.5.

  Update: I tested on a Mac with the latest OS (10.9.3) and FileReference record works on Safari with this version of the OS.

  So this bug is a problem specific to 10.7.5 OSX and Safari. I believe that Safari uses a webkit engine which is cooked in the Mac operating system, so it's probably a bug with the real operating system.

• Bug Safari: could not establish a secure connection & search bar problem

  I'm hosting a server wiki on one of my macs and he got a self-signed certificate (the one generated by the server application). Since a few days ago (10.11.3 upgrade could be the culprit), Safari cannot establish a secure connection, no more. Oddly enough, this kind of coincide with the search box issue as well, which has been documented elsewhere.

  I checked, the certificate is marked as "always trust" in my keychain. I can access the wiki perfectly in Firefox for example.

  What a paradox, that I have to use third party software to access a software solution Apple...?

  Please let me know if you have had the same problems and if you managed to solve it.

  Hey! Take a look at this. This temporary has helped a number of users here. Over time, everything should be resolved then wait for a while.

  A possible solution to the problem of address bar: disable the Safari Suggestions

  If you have problems to open Web pages, take a look at these techniques proposed by Apple of troubleshooting.

  Go to the Safari menu (at the top right of your screen next to the Apple icon), choose 'Quit Safari'

  Press the "Shift" key and while holding this button on your unique keyboard, click the icon of Safari on your Dock.

  Open Safari - Preferences - Privacy - data to remove any Web site.

  Open the menu to go with the Option (Alt) key - library - key locate Safari folder and place it on your desktop. Restart your Mac, open Safari and delete the file from your desktop.

  Also, try the following steps:

  Restart your Mac.

  Try to start:

  -Stop your Mac

  -Wait until your computer turns off and after that press the power button

  -Just after you hear the startup tone, press in and hold the SHIFT key

  -Release the SHIFT key when you see a gray Apple sign and the progress under this sign bar

  -Once your Mac boot, restart dhcpd as you usually do.

• Bug Safari

  I opened Safari this am and that you can no longer type in the address bar.  It was before and after the last update of El Capitan.  By pressing the SHIFT key and re-launch of Safari doesn't work only once.  Then it's the same question.  I removed all the data of Web sites under the heading privacy.  Still cannot type in the address bar.  I changed the search engines.  Still can not type in the address bar.  Anyone have any ideas?  Come on Apple - fix!

  I had this problem this morning too - after briefly of the Internet Scouting I found the only current solution is to disable the "include the Suggestions of Safari" under Search tab in the preferences.

• Bug Safari Notification Center

  I am implemented in Safari to receive notifications via the Notification Center. They deliver like banners, but in reality, they do not stay in the Notification Center Panel. They appear as banners, then left. Any ideas?

  

  Banners are not supposed to stay there. by the description: "banners appear at the upper right and disappear automatically."

  Has there been any news or updates from Apple regarding the bugs with iOS 9.3 and links not working not on Safari and the hyperlinks attached in e-mails, the device crashing? Become very frustrating

  I can't find history/plist in El Capitan.

  I had problem with typing in Safari Google searches when it won't let a space when you try and add a Word to a search or simnply hangs and stop typing you anything at all, so I want to do the following:

  Finder > user account > library > Caches. Move it to the trash, the com.apple.Safari file and folder bookmarks in Caches > metadata > Safari folder. Then, same library, go to the Safari folder, moving in the Recycle Bin, the file History.plist . Now restart Safari and try the URL

  Also, where is El Capitan account username please?

• Check the spelling in the world

  Since last year, I've been shooting a lot, a lot of typos. I'm not sure why, but I often have to type 'In' when I want only to type 'I '. Often, I hit the SHIFT key.  More strange, it's "n ot" appears when I want to type "to". In any case, because of this problem, I really need spell check. My question is, is it possible to have something like spell-checking, where and when I type something in my computer? Apple Mail is no problem, no Apple Community Forum when I remember that there is a spell checker here. I am looking for a program that has many more, say, everything typed in Safari. Is there something like this?

  Another thing I would like is something like the top of this page and the section font on Apple Mail. Yes, I would like to be able to change the fonts and use the underscore, redact, etc.. • I'm frustrated

  Why these websites is not produced by someone who knows how to operate? I just posted a long message and are headed to the screen for correct version of El Capitan it was incorrect and when I returned everything was gone. I'm really upset when others that we should be able to invoke in time in the it Department use apparently their production to see if it works properly. Apple charges too much for the product in this case. Suddenly, I have a number of problems.  have a swirling colorful wheel for some reason that I didn't have before. my typing will not appear on the screen for a while after I typed in Safari is suddenly little reliable; my mail disappears without explanation and so on. If I don't fix this soon I won't have no choice but to return to Windows which is also a lousy product. What's wrong?

  Tell me, if you see a message like the one you posted earlier, you would have an idea where to start? The first half is just a rant, the second half does not contain much information. We aren't psychic here. What you describe could be caused by a defect in the disc, but it could be related to software too.
