Typing in the bar URL causes Firefox hang

Firefox started to hang whenever I type in the URL bar. Firefox starts normally, but this problem will invariably occur shortly after it has finished loading. It seems that I am able to prevent hanging if I resize the window of Firefox.

However, the only way I could find out how to prevent the problem is using Firefox in Mode without failure. I tried to disable different modules, reset Firefox, go back to a previous version, and even restore my computer to an earlier restore point, and the problem persists.

Functions of Internet Explorer without any errors on the same computer. Is there anything I can do except hope that a new version of Firefox doesn't have the same problem?

Thank you

Try disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • How can I disable the bar advertising for Firefox iOS & Android?

I recently started to see a pop for Firefox iOS and Android advertising when I use Firefox on Windows 7. It takes the form of a notification, just bar below the URL bar read 'bring your bookmarks and passwords with you. Firefox is now on iOS and Android', with a 'Get it now' button and an 'x' to close right (see screenshot attached). I've closed more than once with the 'x' and it keeps popping up (perhaps only once per session, I don't know).

I would like to get rid of this annoying little announcement. I looked through: config and settings of the ordinary, but I have not been able to find a way to remove it. Adblock Plus doesn't help, of course, because the announcement seems to be integrated into the browser itself. Anyone know how to stop this thing nagging me everytime I open my browser?

Sorry, this is a message from the heart function. She undergoes a bug right now. Better to turn it off if you can get immediate relief.

To turn off the heart rate:
Talk openly about: config config in a tab, then search for browser.selfsupport.url and double click on it and set it to an empty value.

You may need to restart Firefox for the changes to take effect.

  • Malfunction bar URL in Firefox 29.0.1

Hello, I use OSX Mavericks and when my elders of Firefox to version 29.0.1 that I started having failures with my url bar on most Web sites. I tried several restarts Firefox and this has no effect.

When I open a blank tab, it looks good, I can stick in a new URL, but then the url bar immediately disappears and in its place, I see a bunch of symbols that are not clickable. The URL is no longer accessible and I can't click on the back button or interact with any of the symbols. In this case for gmail, wordpress, and most of the sites outside of social media, I noticed.

You have an extension named RSS icon? Some users have reported that the address is changed to symbols when this extension is enabled.

You can check your extensions installed on the page modules. Either:

    • Command + shift + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions.

  • Can not view the image url on Firefox I can on Chrome

I am trying to copy a set of images that have urls such as the following:

    http://www.Halldis.com/resources/apt_resource_1564_1272014118921.1

These images will display well on Chrome, but not Firefox, where I get a lot of funny characters.

The site is a third party site, and while they let us copy the pictures, I can't ask them to fix the problem.

The server sends the file as a text/plain because it has an extension of fichier.1 and not a recognized as .jpg file extension

It is always better to avoid problems like that and rename the file by adding .jpg

You can paste it into the address bar to see the image in this case

    data:text/html,<img src="http://www.halldis.com/resources/apt_resource_1564_1272014118921.1">

  • no address or all the bars when opening firefox

the last few weeks when I open firefox it opens with no search bar, no address bar, no bars at all. all I have is a blank white page with Mozilla Firefox in the upper left corner and on the upper right reduce it, restore them and close buttons. I can try and open many times and the same thing happens. I tried to reinstall the latest version, I tried the F11 key, the ALT key, all other keys. the only way I can use it is if by chance I get firefox to load with bars, and then I click on a link at random to open a tab and use it. It's very frustrating. I have also shut down my computer completely for about a half hour and rebooted, hoping it would help. I can't open anything to verify anything. There is no bar file/edit/view/...tools for me to change anything. There is nothing more than a blank page. I'd appreciate any help. This has never happened before, and I had not installed anything new when this started.

  • Is it possible to have Firefox 4 speed while keeping the menu much higher and the bar tab of Firefox 3?

I want to increase the operating speed, but for my use of the new orientation of the tab bar, tabs favorite and engine of research would be counterproductive.

It is very easy to do. By default on Windows XP, it will have the old style menu bar and the tab bar is not on top.

If you have Firefox 4 put in place with the new UI, you can return to the older appearance by right-clicking a toolbar, then clicking on the entrance to the "Menu bar" to select. To change the position of the tab bar, right-click on a toolbar and click the entry "Tabs at the top".

Not much more to report - sometimes I can not switch to other applications.

I installed the extension, it seems that there are several options to solve the problems with the places.sqlite file, I ran each option one at a time. I think that it may have helped a little, kind of hard to say. But the symptoms you report seems closely related to what is seen in the blog.

As noted in the blog, uninstalled later expansion.

Also, I try to restart Firefox when the CPU get more than 1 hour because things really slow down when the firefox.exe gets nearly 2 hours. For that I use "Restartless Restart" (for Firefox 4.0 and more)

  • Secondary windows are causing Firefox to freeze

Problem with Firefox freezing MAJOR. Whenever a second window opens, the browser everything freezes, and I have to use the Task Manager to close. This includes windows as a quick check for a bill pay, windows of seizure of task/link in various forums and even Firefox functions, such as clearing cache/cookies/etc window. When I open that to clear things, I can't do it. Even if the browser has not been opened, but a few minutes, it freezes. The small window does not close, I can't navigate from page, nothing. I use 3.6.28, and no, I don't want to upgrade. We have the latest version on other systems, and it stinks. Blocker does not block the things that it DOES not block on my system (things on the same site, same page, etc.), the themes have totally DISAPPEARED (and I wouldn't miss the Captain Jack Sparrow at the top of my browser window!), and various items of STANDARD browser are often missing - back button, bookmark link , discount, etc. I don't want a version with all these questions. I love the layout that I have, and I like my themes. However, since the last "update", I had this stupid question, and this severely limits my navigation. I tried to disable ALL add-ons/plug-ins, nothing helps. No change whatsoever. Tried to disable all cookies. Did not work. I can not even find mention of this issue in all the help pages, and I tried all the solutions offered for Firefox "hang." Proxy of NP to connect, no additional session files, no plugin problem, nothing. I have really to ask if this issue has not been created, to try to force me to upgrade. I will therefore do this way. I don't like to be pushed. Yes, I also checked my antivirus settings, and they are always very good. Firefox is listed as "of confidence" and not restricted at all. Never caused a problem before, either, and I don't think that is the question now.

So who else has this ridiculous problem? Who else wants a solution that does not offer a browser limited with any of the themes? Alternatively, Hey, live chat for talking with someone from real tech, what can DO something? Yes, I'm frustrated. I LOATHE HIM and I started to use Firefox because of major problems with different versions of IE, in different versions of Windows, on various computers. been using Firefox for a LONG time now, more than a decade and never had problems of this kind. What gives? Help, please. I want the features that I have, and I don't want to use IE and will NOT use anything from Google. Need help! Typing a wrong URL in the URL from Firefox 31.0 bar redirects me to us.yhs4 yahoo com search that displays the LAVASOFT logo. It is not the case with any of my other browsers (IE, Chrome, Opera, Safari). So this cannot be a problem ISP as shown in all current references to Firefox.
This problem started after I uninstalled adaware from LAVASOFT. It itself instead of uninstall. Thus, it is malware behavior while LAVASOFT is pretending to protect against malware.
Nevertheless, I would like to know how to get rid of this annoying 404 redirect hijack. My home page is about to startpage com, my default search engine is startpage com, all references to Lavasoft and adaware have been removed by subject: config and Windows registry...
How to get rid of this spam redirect, please?

  • typing in the url of my site Web company sends to page index https in Firefox, but not IE or Chrome, and the behavior is not

After updating Firefox to version 14.0.1 I noticed when I typed in the Web address of my business that firefox was the site https:// version when it has never done this before.

Example, if you type in amazon.com in the URL bar, you will briefly see that firefox changes the url to https://www.amazon.com before be automatically directed to the site normal www.amazon.com .

My site did not have a secure index page and received a message generated by the server until I discovered this problem.

Is there a setting in Firefox to prevent the URL bar by first selecting a secure connection? This behavior occur in newer versions of I.e. or Chrome browsers on a desk.

Any help would greatly be apprecaited

Depending on the solution worked for me. Just put the following in the file .htaccess on your server and put your name field instead of the field below example:

  • I have Kaspersky Anti-virus for mac. The Kaspersky URL Advison 8.0.6 extension causes Firefox crash when you visit websites that are secure, especially when the secure site redirects to another site.

Kaspersky URL Advisor 8.0.6 causes Firefox 9.0.1 to hang during the visit of will and secure Web sites do not allow a redirect to another site. banking sites, facebook, auctionsniper, all these are affected.

Please also contact technical support from Kaspersky and Forum and let them know that the issue, if its really a bug, they will load through patch via update of database
