Typing problems

When I try to type a letter in Word, or MSN Hotmail as I type the cursor will jump around randomly and cause my typing back there where the cursor is sometimes, I have 3 or 4 sentences completed then all of a sudden I look and I type in the middle of the first or maybe the second sentence. I can just start typing and it jumps to a place that has been previously typed. Not only will it do this in Word and Hotmail, it wil sometimes even do in the search also bar

Have you tried to reduce the sensitivity of the touchpad?

Yes, it could be a driver problem.  If you did a clean install of Windows using a XP installation CD (that means reformatting the drive), you should have installed the drivers from Dell or from a CD provided with your laptop or downloaded from the Dell site using your Dell's Service tag number.  If, however, you have used the restore utility - to-factory settings Dell, then the drivers are installed properly.

Whenever I type a few words all of a sudden my cursor jumps in a few words and my typing is mixed with something I already typed. This happens in all programs. Can you help me?

    Hello

Here's a ccouple common causes of this problem.

    (1) you have a TouchPad (on a laptop) and brush your thumb against it. Response > disable it (often a button) and get a mouse.

    (2) your mouse driver is broken and making interference from other programs. Response > download and install the latest driver for your mouse.

    (3) the surface you have you mouse over is the reflection and the mouse is not able to function properly > try a new surface under your mouse. Try a better functioning of colors, matte or rough surface and darker.

    (4) you have a wireless mouse and the battery is about to go out.

    (5) that you have installed a new program or device recently that interferes. Response > try #2 above or uninstall the program, or make sure that the device you have installed has the latest drivers.

    I hope this helps

  • Dreamweaver CC 13.2 Build slow 6471still typing problem

I use Dreamweaver CC 13.2 Build 6471 on a Windows 7 eight Core I7 with 6 GB of ram machine and typing in code view is agonizing. I'm editing generally at least three similar small pages at a time, all under 300 lines and hardly can type 10 characters without a second of 30-45 break by Dreamweaver. I had to spend to Aptana just to get some work, I recently upgraded to CS6 and it is still installed on my system causing me to go back to the old version and find my $480.00 for year of creative Cloud. I voluntarily waited for two years to allow the code to improve. After using most of the other programs now, I have no problem except with Dreamweaver.

Disabling the tag highlighting feature helped a little. Now I can use Dreamweaver to edit in code view, and split view. I appreciate the help.

Ok. I use a Dell computer. I can only show how I do in my Dell computer.

Basically, you need to perform the settings with touchpad you. He is too sensitive. When you start typing, you touched the touchpad inadvertently, and moved the cursor.
    Here's how I'd do...

Right-click on a free space of the desktop > customize > mouse pointers > (this is where if you do not have a Dell PC, you may not be able to follow. But you should have an idea right after that).

I click Dell Touchpad tab > Device Select > I would like to either click on 'Disable' under the Touchpad > or put a check mark on "Disable Touchpad when external mouse usb is present." > OK

    Another method >
Click Touchpad > Touchpad settings > under tactile sensitivity, move the slide to the RIGHT (heavy)
    > OK

I thought I should keep under a fan or a light after 1 hour it turned on and I made calls and it was working fine. But it was because of the light that I discovered much later. Do you think this a serious injury?

Please wait... Remove the battery immediately!

YES... It can cause some SERIOUS DAMAGE!

If our BlackBerry never am wet then we shouldn't try to turn to see if it works. Must immediately remove the battery and also SIM media card. We should put in a bag of uncooked rice that absorb moisture. Should allow for at least 3 to 4 days unless we are sure that the moisture has been absorbed completely. Then we need to put our BlackBerry over entire surface of heat as a stabilizer, CRT monitor or output in the dashboard of a car on a sunny day. Before inserting the battery, we should be sure that it is completely dry.

Always it after following these steps, it is not ensured that our device will be no problem and happen as above, because when moisture or any substance liquid go our BlackBerry, he started corrosion which leads to the problem like quick battery drainage, by typing problem and many more.

Then, remove the battery and try these steps.

  • An excerpt from the sqroo-up memory

Let's see if that messages without profanity (although Apple's music forums are full of the f-word...)

An hour or there (that's how long it took me to get these forums to work under OS 10.4.11) I opened a 13 MB PDF in preview, did a search for a particular word... and everything froze. Could not kill an excerpt, couldn't leave the other apps, the Finder can not pass for a minute. Then I got the pop up "your startup disk is almost full.

Indeed, the boot disk WAS full - getinfo showed ZERO MEGS AVAILABLE. It is seriously messed up. Can someone tell me what happened? And, who wrote an app (preview) that would do something like that? This is beyond sick.

Fill my boot drive (there was about 1 GB free before that) included writing thousands of files, of which many were stored on a temporary 300 MB RAMdisk. Why... ? BECAUSE I DIDN'T DEVELOP THOUSANDS OF SMALL FILES ON A PHYSICAL HARD DRIVE!  Use of the RAM (in Activity Monitor) went from 302 MB to about 4 MB, and a free space on my boot drive went from 900 MB 0 MB. It is ZERO. That's why Preview himself used somehow 600 MB.

At this point I * could * have answered my own question - opening a small PDF in preview and search for the letter 'e' has seized about 30 MB (5813 occurrences of 'e'). Incredible, but it is conceivable that in a PDF 10 times this size, it might have caught 300 MB or maybe 600... ??  If this is the cause, which is the pathetic MacOS Preview application in which she begins searching as soon as you start typing, problem solved. Type faster, or well cut and paste your search term (how sick is it to have to do that?). Because if you are a slow typist, or start typing right now hurt, it's going to start looking for an own f * kin' letter, e.g. 'e' instead of the word "elephant".

But found again shouldn't take more than 600 MB and I am not convinced that was the cause. Has anyone else had this problem (I guess)?

    

    

Mac OS X, like all modern operating systems, has a virtual memory system that uses space on the startup disk.  The amount of storage space used for this virtual machine "pagefile" depends on whether the system is.

1 GB of free space on your startup disk is MUCH too low.  You must have at least 10% free space (or more).  In addition, as the available free space goes down lower and lower, which is always available free space becomes more fragmented.  This can severely affect performance because the system tries to write to its VM file spread (into small pieces) all over your hard drive media.  It can even speed up hard drive failure.

Thus, it is unlikely that the Preview (the application) used up to 600 MB of disk space by opening a PDF file.  The overall operating system was what she does and allocated more space for virtual memory, according to the needs.  When you start up the Mac, the amount originally used by the virtual memory is low.  But it can reach several GBs in size that you use your Mac for different tasks.  If your Mac has low physical RAM, still more disk space gets used by virtual memory.

You need to free more space on your startup disk, to allow the BONE function effectively.  Get an external drive, to unload rarely used files.

  • When I tap on the touchpad on my HP Pavilion dv7 cursor sometimes also jumps on the screen

When I tap on the touchpad on my HP Pavilion dv7 cursor sometimes jumps somewhere else on the screen. I sent 2 times to HP and it has been returned without problem found. They advised me to set the pointer at half speed, but it still happens. I found on the HP web site, a newsletter which confirms that they seem to have a problem: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01471084&tmp_task=solveCategory&lc=en&dlc=hr&cc=hr&lang=hr&product=4075797#.

It is apparently related to the thread "Windows UPDATE Caused typing problems (Jumping cursor... )" It only happens when I type' and 'double tap', not when I type. So who is to blame?

To disable the option of tapping helps but it is only circumvented the problem.

And HP article points to its own software system BIOS or touchpad as the culprit, not the operating system.  I've seen a number of updates offered on Windows Update that can potentially manure with a touchpad settings; Quick Launch buttons specific to the virtual devices/interfaces/drivers ACPI BIOS that control things like the programmable buttons or special function keys and updated for HP, TouchPad software and driver updates.

Non-Microsoft software and published on Windows Update for driver updates are put there by the respective hardware or software developers, not by Microsoft.  Many users just automatically install what are updates are available without looking too close description of the update and do not realize that they just installed an update to a third-party product as opposed to an update of the operating system.  Some users don't even know the difference.

I would check the forums to support consumer of HP for a potential solution.  Several times, HP will have a new driver or software provision, but he gets only appearing on the support pages and download for currently marketed models, not on discontinued models.

  • Keyboard dactylographies only numbers - digital lock is disabled

When I 1st start, none of my keys of numbers or keys of the letter type numbers only.  What keys I hit 1, the number 1 appears.  The 2nd key sequence, no matter which key I type type number 2.  This is due to move forward until when I hit the 10th key sequence, 0 is displayed.  The 11-1 typing appears again and again of the entire sequence.  If I hit the SHIFT key, then I get! @# $%^&*() and it starts again.  I can activate the number lock and Caps Lock and off - the green light comes on when you're standing on, turns off when it is turned off.

The strange thing is that if I hibernation of the computer by closing the lid or push the Fn and F4, I discovered (hibernation) key, then wake up after a few seconds, the keyboard is back to normal work.

Any ideas on what could happen?

    Thank you!

Aryeh Hi and thanks for the answer!  You are right about it is not not a lack of space on my HARD drive.  I just got by cloning my old HDD to a larger HARD drive, and the problem was still there.  I tried to type 'NUMLOCK SET' in the command prompt and return "variable undefined NUMLOCK environment."  Don't know why I got this answer, I'm totally clueless when it comes to the DOS command world., but thanks for the suggestion.

The good news is thanks to my brilliant wife doing a better search on Google that I could never reach ('keypad typing 12 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0"), I found someone else who had the same problem.  They have recently installed something offered by Comcast, called 'constant Protection '. I had recently installed too after I called Comcast just to make sure that the email I received from their share on the subject really had them (it was).

After that I installed, things worked well until I was preparing to make a recording of this week and noticed a constant guard was in my Start Menu upward.  Because I like to disable everything in the start menu before you save it in order to minimize potential conflicts, I took guard constant on the start menu and noticed that I started to have the 12 3 4 etc. typing problems.  I uninstalled constant guard and in a survey that popped up asking me why I was uninstalling constant guard, I noticed that they had something on "keyboard just type 1234 etc, so I checked this box.

Just rebooted and now no more problems with my keyboard.  Yay!  Thanks for all the time and the entry!  I enjoyed all your comments.

    Best regards
