U2414H DisplayPort 1.2 STD Set Up - monitors will not get video Signal from the graphics card during start or restart

* What specific Dell monitor? 2 two U2414h monitors with MD214 - package of multi-monitor support
* What specific model of computer, desktop/laptop? Workstation HP xw8400, Intel Quad Core Xeon CPU E 5335 @ 2.00 GHz, 4.00 GB of memory
* What operating system? Windows 7 Professional 32-bit
* Which video card? AMD over-pants V3900
* Which ports are available for the video card? DisplayPort 1.2 STD, Dual-link DVI
* Which video output from the video card port video on the port monitor do you use? Output Mini DisplayPort Display port in
* What cable are you using to set the video card to the monitor? Adapter DisplayPort to MiniDispayPort - we came with every Dell monitor
* You use the Dell supplied cable? Yes - two monitors

* Press the Menu button of the monitor to open the OSD (On Screen Display). The bottom of the screen should display a resolution. This resolution should match the resolution of the default monitor. The two monitors: 1920 x 1080, 60 Hz

* Brief description of the problem monitor? Monitors have been implemented following the instructions on page 25 of the Dell online manual to connect the monitor to function DP multi-flow (MST). DisplayPort cable is connected to V3900 output MiniDisplay port DisplayPort graphics card in the 1st U2414H; second DisplayPort cable is connected to the DisplayPort on 1 U2414H monitor output and MiniDisplayPort in the 2nd monitor U2414H. Dell U2414H drivers have been installed from the CD provided and both recognized by Windows. V3900 graphics card Driver is up to date with the EyeInfinity software. Source of input on both monitors the Mini Display Port value. Display settings on both monitors Display Port 1.2 value activate. Resolution of the screen on Windows 7 shows: (a) two separate Dell U2414H (mini Display Port) screens, with each resolution 1920 x 1080, multi (b) displays the value "to extend these displays. The two views work with Setup leading up to and acknowledged by the graphics card.

Problem 1 - all the time - monitor power buttons are lit, the computer is turned on, then monitors lights don't - they show 'Power save mode' and then turns off. To hit the power button on the computer to shut down Windows. Only way to get these on monitors is unplug cords from the back of each monitor, wait a few minutes, plug in the power cord, start computer and then both monitors will start up and sign of windows to the screen will appear and monitors will work. Normal operations for a full day of work if you do not restart. If you need to restart during the day (like when you get a software update), the same thing happens. Start the computer to restart, but the monitors come back on not and remain dark. There is nothing wrong with the graphics card V3900. He is certified by AMD and DisplayPort.org to work in an environment of STD DisplayPort 1.2. I had previously two 215tws Samsung SyncMasters connected to each output V3900 Grahics card and they work very well in extended mode for years until a SyncMaster 215tw started shaking like crazy. A SyncMaster has been connected to the out display with a dongle and a DVI cable Port. The other SyncMaster was connected to the DVI output on the graphics card. So I decided to buy these two U2414Hs. Technical support Dell after many phone calls and e-mails finally advised me that there is a problem of "compatibility" between my computer and the U2414Hs and recommended that I return the monitors. On the web site of the U2414H AMD has not been certified by AMD to work in a DisplayPort 1.2 STD Set Up. Other former Dell monitors are certified by AMD to work in the Display Port 1.2 Setup. DisplayPort.org lists the U2414H to work with Display Port (it does not say that it will work in a DisplayPort 1.2 Set Up).

Problem 2 - shift perceptible in the entrance of Microsoft Blue Tooth keyboard and mouse and PS2 Keyboard and mouse. All the drivers are up to date. When you type a phrase, it takes a few moments for the text displayed on the screen using a keyboard. Both the mouse connected and the Bluetooth mouse are unresponsive sporadically for a few moments until they finally react. It happens regularly during the day. The monitors provide excellent clarity when you work. The stand is ideal for office property. Before these monitors are returned if no one knows what causes these two problems and does anyone have a solution? Should I stop using the Display Port 1.2 and hang them using HDMI with active dongles? If I have to return these two U2414Hs, I considered the 2 two U2413s. Someone at - it all opinions on the last U2413s from Dell? I have read some real problems with ghosting that I just haven't the time for more. The remanence correction in the models of U2413 sold in 2014? There are very few monitors on the market with Display Port in and out to the back to support DisplayPort 1.2 STD Transport.

Thanks for any input.

I had to remove my VGA HDMI DV card and now the DP (display port) works very well. Don't need to use a HDMI cable. Display Port 1.1 is reported as the problem in order to remove the card solves this problem.

    Hello

    Try this procedrue:

Disconnect the PC and open it. Clean all the dust. Carefully, remove and replace all the cables towards the mother board one at a time. Do the same for memory DIMM and the video and the sound of cards if you have a.  You can buy a can of compressed air to blow the dust out of the heatsink from the CPU.  Plug your PC back in and give it a go.

If the above does not help this procedure: power.  Do not skip steps.

Finally, try to clear the CMOS memory.

Vectorscope, all scopes, YC - waveform Display modes all work.

I downloaded the latest Nvidia drivers for both of my cards.

I did not receive messages error or had problems in After Effects CS6, as video playback works fine in my other adobe applications.

Since you have very recently purchased the Quadro, try to return it and replace it with a nVidia GTX 670. Approximately equal to the price, but the GTX 670 is much faster and it supports up to 4 monitors, so you can remove the Ti 550 and sell.

I guess your problem is configuring dual video card that use different drivers. Double video cards is possible, even if PR can use the main map, but drivers must be the same for both cards and this is not the case.

  • I managed to do my monitor outside my main monitor, but it says no signal and the screen of my laptop is black. Help, please

    Hello someone,.

I wanted to connect my laptop to my TV to use it as a secondary monitor. Me being me, I somehow changed settings so that when I plug in my TV, my laptop screen goes black and my TV screen turns blue with no signal. Is it possible to restore the settings when I have it plugged first and it worked?
    Thanks for any help :)

    Hi johnrodden,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft community!

I'm sorry to hear that you have a problem with the external monitor.

1 turn off your computer and unplug the monitor, but leave the mouse and keyboard connected.

    2. connect the appropriate video cable from the video port on your computer to your TV.

    3. turn on your TV and set it to the input that matches the video port connected to your computer. You may need to refer to your TV user guide for instructions on how to do it.

    4 turn on your computer.

You should see windows displayed on your TV.

If you do not see an option named multiple displays in your display settings, then Windows isn't detecting a second monitor plugged into computer. Or else, it does not detect an external monitor plugged into your laptop. When Windows detects this monitor, it will appear in the drop-down list next to the screen. If you do not see that what listed there, try click on Detect.

Make sure that the monitor you want to extend your desktop is turned on and plugged on the video appropriate port on your computer. You may also need to select the correct source labeled on the controls of your monitor to ensure that the monitor is using the correct video port. For more information, consult the manual of your monitor or go to the manufacturer's Web site.

Please set up multiple monitors once more, referring to this article:

    Set up multiple monitors

Refer to the mentioned suggestion as "what can I do if Windows can't identify the additional display?" in this article:

Please report if you are still having the problem. I will be happy to provide you with the additional options that you can use to get the problem resolved.

  • Multiple monitors will not display duplicate

I'll put up a Sony Vaio with Windows 7 via a Targus docking port. My second monitor is a monitor Dell U2211H Ultra strong. Everything worked very well with the ddisplay on both monitors. Right in the middle of browsing the web, my Dell screen went dark. The monitor said that he does not get an entry from my computer. All cables are well fixed. When I go to the dsplay setting in the Control Panel, I get these choices in the menu screen drop down: 2) display 2 = digital flat Palne, 1920 x 1080, 1) Dell U211H. My choice only for the multiple screens drop down is display on 1 single screen on 2 only, or spread. If I select extend, I can see things on two laptops. This works. If I don't show that on 1 desktop (Dell), that works; my laptop darkens. If I don't show that on 1 desktop (my laptop), that works; Dell darkens. So... the question is: what happened to double screens? I want to see the same thing on both monitors. Isn't there... poof, it's gone! Thanks in advance for the help.

Right-click on your desktop and select graphics options, get put off and point at him or drown monitor, follow those until you get to the desktop and icons.

You can also right click and select Properties, which will open the graphics chip and some clues can be in the settings of the monitor or screen.

  • HP monitor does not display "DVi signal.

My HP LP2275w monitor does not display "DVI signal" when connected with a DVI cable (supplied), but when it is connected via a VGA cable and adapter DVI/VGA (both supplied) it works but no BIOS screen. It begins immediately with the logo of the VICTORY.

I just bought new HP Pavilion 500-158eg, Intel Core i5-4440, with AMD Radeon HD8570, 2GB processor, running on WIN7 Pro 64 b. VGA and another port of the motherboard are initially blocked so I can connect the monitor only via the output HDMI or DVI on the graphics card.

I should note that on my old machine without a name with the graphic upgrade ATI Radeon, there is no problem and I used the same cable. There was an electric shock that causes the collapse of the motherboard so I can't even re - check on the old machine. I can't verify if there is a problem with the DVI cable because all laptops in our housing have only the VGA output...

HP Pavilion m7560n, THE graphic card NVIDIA GeForce, monitor HP 2159 m, Windows XP.

Screen went black with the message "no signal". I tried the monitor and cable on another computer, it worked, this isn't a problem with the monitor or the cable. The VGA connector and graphics is integrated in the motherboard, so I can't try another video card. TV-out connectors, isn't the PC so I can't use TV as a monitor. Is there another option, how to continue with the debugging before replacing the motherboard?

    Thank you.

Most of these cards in PCIe x 16 v2.0 should work on your computer as long as it requires a 300 watt power supply system power or less. The 2 x 0 series is the oldest, while the 6 x 0 series is the most recent. Cards are plug-and-play... but you need to install a device driver for the card. The HP BIOS should automatically detect the card and disable the integrated graphics card. If you still have problems after the installation of a card, we will have to look for other issues.

U2415 monitor will not connect.  Get the message "no connection DP.  New out of the box yesterday from Dell.  Tried the two connectors supplied DP.  Also tried HDMI to HDMI.  I was assured by the sales these last connection was sure to work.  Now the Dell support told me my only option is an expensive (~ $ 60) VGA adapter DP.  My computer is a 18 months, Dell XPS 8700 running windows 8.1.  Looks like a return if this is even possible.  Buy all Dell for 20 years, but maybe it's the end of it.

  • my monitor will not be stopped when I stopped my computer?

When I shut down my computer, my screen stays on all the time and I don't know how to turn it off.   Can advise you. I have a windows 7 HP.  Thanks P.G.Anderson

It's all good, if light on the Tower goes out and there is no fan noise, then the PC stopped.

The message on the screen is generated by the monitor itself and nothing to worry, (this is just to tell you is no longer receives a signal from the PC), simply turn the monitor off as described above.

I know not your situation, you can have a new PC or it may have been upgraded, it is not so common now, but in the past, the power supply on the PC had taken power that was often used to power the monitor so when the PC is turned off the monitor was, if the monitor is plugged into a power outlet other than the PC must be turned off manually.

Just a tip, I cut the power supply to the power socket not with switch monitor, the reason being that they do not spend much money on the switches and they fail over time.

  • Resolution of U2414H DisplayPort Daisy Chain/STD problem

    Hello

I have what seems to be a common problem with no solution on these pages; with DisplayPort STD.

I had two of these Dell monitors over the weekend and spent about 3 hours trying to get STD to work with them. I arrived later, and they have worked fine for about 36 hours.

In this time my computer restarted two times without any problem. However, this morning I had upward, turned and suddenly the second (end of my STD string) string is not recognized as an instructor. It shows my desktop, but only at 640 x 480. AMD Catalyst can see it, but refers to it as 'No Display connected.

My setup is a Gigabyte Radeon HD 7950 feeding these two Dells (on a single string of DP STD), a Compaq Q2022a on HDMI and a DVI. The first dell also has a USB Bluetooth stick and WiFi USB dongles plugged, and the second dell USB tire this is the capacity of the first. Both worked absolutely fine when I went to bed, and this morning, the second in the chain was not.

I am looking to buy up to four more of them for a tri-moniteur stacked configuration, but I need them to be more reliable before I can justify spending that much! I love the thin bezel and STD is a must for the configuration I want, but reliability is essential too, I don't want to spend an hour a day fixing everything...

    Thank you

For anyone interested, my workaround is the following:

-Unplug the monitor two monitor one

    -Disable STD on monitor 1

-STD re - activate the monitor 1

-Reconnect the monitor 2 in 1

-Hold the power for about 8 seconds on Monitor 2

Seems to work after having done this, not.
Of course, a better solution would be for Dell to realize they sold a product of poor quality, do a recall and get fixed them correctly. This is currently my only product of Dell and if this is how their quality control, I certainly won't be getting more.

My Samsung DLP is connected to my laptop and it shows the logo of the computer but I can't get anything else, such as the desktop... any help would be appreciated

    Hi jayvee53,

    1. don't you make changes before the show?

We recommend that you adjust the size of the screen in digital and analog Mode in Windows (resolution setting)
If the image is too large or too small, very probably, you must set your computer to optimal resolution screen and/or the optimal frequency (vertical frequency) to your TV.

Step 1: To set the optimal resolution, follow these steps:
    a. Click Start > settings > Control Panel.
    (b) in the Control Panel window, double-click display. Display of the dialog box is displayed.
    c. click on the settings tab in the display dialog box. The settings dialog box is displayed.
    d. in the screen resolution section, move the cursor to the optimal resolution for your TV and then click OK.
    e. in most of the cases, the screen goes out for a moment or two and then re - appears in the new resolution, display a dialog box asking if you want to keep the new setting.
    f. click Yes.

Important: The Optimum resolution for your LCD TV should be included in the section display PC of your manual.

Step 2: To set the optimal refresh rate, follow these steps:
    a. Click Start > settings > Control Panel.
    (b) in the Control Panel window, double-click display. Display of the dialog box is displayed.
    c. click on the settings tab in the display dialog box. The settings dialog box is displayed.
    d. click the Advanced Options button at the bottom right of the dialog box.
    e. in the dialog box that appears, click the monitor tab.
    f. on the tab monitor in the monitor settings box, click screen refresh fall down, then 60 Hertz.
    g. click OK.

Note: We recommend that you also download and install the latest video card driver on your computer.
