U2713H 'blue box '.

Hi, I recently got the Dell U2713H monitor as a replacement for my 2711 (warranty). For the most part, the U2713H is a great monitor. However, I noticed that when I play a video (be it of "you tube" or one of my personal videos), a pale blue box appears (it is almost always the same size as video.). It varies in size depending on the video, EXCEPT when he's played a video with Windows media player. Then, it covers the entire screen!

A few times the blue box remained even when the video is finished. The only way to get rid of it is to turn on the monitor power on and off. I am running windows 8.

Everyone knows this? If so, is there a solution?

Thank you.

I had the problem and fixed it by using the menu on the monitor.

Menu > display settings > improve the intelligent video > off

Hope this works for you.

  • The small icons to the left of Web site names (for example the white boy 'f' in a blue box for Facebook) on my list of bookmarks disappeared for that I now only have the names themselves, making it more difficult to navigate.

Normally, when I click on the bookmarks at the top of my screen, the list of Web sites that appears contains a small icon to the left of each bookmark. Now I get only a list. No icons. What happened to the little flag four colors for Hotmail, the 'f' in a blue box for facebook and all the rest? It is now much more difficult to navigate.

  • Blue boxes and Bluescreens when you feed up to Satellite Pro P100-438

    Hello

I own a Pro Satellite P-100-438 (PSPAHE - 001001GR). Yesterday, I tried to start a game, and shortly after, he froze, showed strange bluish rectangles and then a screen blue, followed by a reset.

Then the screen was full of blue shaded boxes in the nature of a grid as a layer of perfect finish. Even the start screen "Toshiba - contact tomorrow" has this box-grid layer.
From the login screen Vistas should appear, there is an another bluescreen: 0 x 00000050 Page Fault In Non-Paged area.

Now, I can only start the computer in safe mode.

I tried to restore the last configuration of windows work but that did not help. I tried to remove the display so drivers and fiddled with the parameter of startup in msconfig and at one point, I was actually able to get Vista running as usual without the blue boxes, but after awhile, I got another blue screen and since then, they have remained.

    Sometimes, there is an another screenshot as well: 0 x 00000116. nvlddmkm.sys - address 8C8149A0 base at 8 808000, DateStamp 4a9cdd24

And he said something 'Attempt to reset display driver and recover timeout failed.' as well.

    Hi again,

last night I checked if the problem might be related to overheating. But now I think that's not the problem. I removed some dust, but it wasn't really much. Accidents still happen.

Regarding the graphics bugs: this is the kind of a grid of blue boxes. But this isn't a perfect grid. Only a grid on the screen. I have a photo I will upload tomorrow. When I move the windows under the grate, it stays in place. Everything as it was somehow in the surface of the screen.

Maybe if the graphics card is broken? It is not the RAM. I removed one at a time, and it is not related to it.

Somehow check whether the graphics card? It's a Geforce Go 7900 GS.

The laptop is a Satellite Pro P100-438 (PSPAHE - 001001GR).

If I bought a replacement graphics card, might be able to buy a better? They're much cheaper than three years ago. Or which would mean too much consumption and amount of heat energy?

What are the cards would work?

    Best regards

    Daniel

I don't ' know what to do at this point.  HP phone support seems unable to solve my problem.  Can someone help me?

    Hi DP - K,.

Thank you for all the helpful tips.  This weekend when I saw my McAFee scan/security reports, even if the McAfee Security Center shows that viruses and spyware works, he did not run a weekly full scan on my laptop since the end of January.  I don't know if he tried to scan and then breaks down, or it will not start.  When I tried to run a manual scan, windows shut down and I got a blue screen error message after about 5 hours of scanning - 63% digital.  When I ran the HP System Diagnostics report, it showed that my Security Center has not recorded an antivirus product.  "The Security Center cannot identify a current antivirus application.  There is no product protection antivirus installed or it is not recognized. "When I ran the HP reliability and history of problem report, it showed that my error messages started on 01/02/11, which is what I remembered.  I was able to restore my laptop to 23/01/11 when I had no problems and then, I uninstalled McAfee security and re-installed software.  I manually ran a full scan and it took 5 hours to complete, it has completed and reported no problems.  I look today and so far, no problem.  If the problem happens again, I will try the suggestion of Avast below.   Thanks again for all your great suggestions.

  • My Aspire ES1 shows a blue box after pressing F2, from the BIOS?

    Hello

I tried a CD Lite Linux and changed the bios in legacy, I want to go back to windows, therefore turned back on and get a message on a boot network followed by insert boot media, thinking that I must return to the UEFI pressing f2, I get a blue box asking to enter a password, I remember not a setting.

ATER three trys the laptop can only re-boot

I think I saw a second type of blue box once and there has also been a displayed number, I tried enter the number but it doesn't seem to work.

Someone has an idea of what I was wrong?

Thought that you all would like to know what happened then...

I posted on a grant application and a good tech guy said that acer can fix this for 55,15 go books.

"This unit must be evaluated by a technician to remove password Bios of this device."

My friend Rob just fell this morning and happened took a glance, he thought it looked like a BIOS password ask... have you tried 1234. .He said... like on a mobile phone.

    He then joined 1234

What he fixed, went back into the BIOS Setup, returned to the UEFI and eight WIndows now boots OK and no harm was done.

I know that I pressed some keys at random to try to select the BIOS mode, this was because the Acer message disappear so quickly. What is the probability that I could (with a blank screen) select set the password, and then type 1234

Unlikely that I thought I would.

    Still, it's all good now.

I imagine that here in the United Kingdom, the warranty does not cover everything - we have a jet mentality.

Maybe we expect to be cheated by the people, of what we buy. Maybe if I had explained that the laptop was only a month old they could have been more generous?

Thanks at least for Mr Acer forum.

    Hello

1 how long have you been faced with this problem?
    2. don't you make changes on the computer before this problem?
    3. do you have installed HP digital imaging software? If yes then update this software.

In some programs like MSN and WinSCP, the program opens and then quickly it sparkles and a blue box either borders or covers the buttons like OK and cause boxes I'm supposed to type in frozen become leaving the useless program. I can reduce the program for a few seconds, come back, and it seems to work, before he went on the same blue box error. Hi Kyle,

-Have there been recent changes in the computer before the show?

I suggest you to set up your computer in a clean boot state.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Note: When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual. See step 7 in the article.

Also, try the SFC scan on the computer.

SFC/scannow is a very useful command that you can use in any version of Windows. When the SFC (System File Checker) command is used with the/scannow switch, the tool analyzes all the important files of Windows on your computer and replace if necessary.

Missing and the corruption of the operating system (like many DLLs) files are probably the main cause of the major problems of Windows. In view of this, plus the fact that the SFC/scannow is completely automatic and very easy to use, the tool should be usually one of your top not troubleshooting.
