U330T startup options

Hello

I'm interested in changing my newly acquired U330T hard drive to an SSD. However, I could not boot from anything other than the hard disk from the OEM.

I have a USB bootable with windows on it and the laptop won't let me start with him or with the SSD or the original HARD disk.

Is their some kind of lock on the bios to only boot from the original hard drive? If so, how can I get rid of this.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Blubinx,

Welcome to the Community Forums of Lenovo!

By pressing F2 when you put ON the computer should get your BIOS settings.

Try following this thread on how to change the boot order in the BIOS

Hope this helps

    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.

  • 10.1 Simulator of: change the default startup option

Is there a way to change the 10.1 Simulator startup options so default to another device? Currently, if you click on in the VM and make your selection at the time defauls of Q10. I develop for the Z10 and firstly want the sim card without having to watch click on the machine virtual and make your selection.

Not sure if it is part of the startup script in the IFS or the script of sysinit.

Would be nice if the controller has provided such a change in the boot options.

Currently, this is not supported.  But I sent your comments to the team of Simulator.

  • How to determine if advanced startup options enabled

    Hello

Can I use the command ' bcdedit/set {globalsettings} advancedoptions true' and ' bcdedit/set {globalsettings} advancedoptions false"to enable or disable the boot advanced options to appear every time you start, but once activated, how to determine if advanced startup options enabled?

    Thank you

No, please download Boot UI Tuner of

    http://winaero.com/download.php?view.46

Run it, you can see the option "Enable advanced startup options" unchecked, close it.

Then run CMD as administrator, type the command

    bcdedit /set {globalsettings} advancedoptions true

Run Boot UI Tuner again, you can see the "Enable advanced boot options"

checked, so i think that can get the info about advanced options enabled.

  • Cannot start on the screen and can not access early startup options

Original title: no access "advanced boot options".

I've had my new Sony Vaio laptop for a little less than two months now, it came preloaded with Windows 8. However this afternoon after startup, I got a blue screen, followed by the message: "repair disk errors. It may take more than an hour to finish '. After less than 10 minutes, it restarted itself, only to start on a black screen with a cursor. When I stop or put it to sleep, it will start ONLY at the back screen after a short while on its loading screen "VAIO". Windows does not make me a "Advanced Boot options" as it should, so I have no access to any system restore, update them or safe mode options.

The only thing I've been able to think is to ask a Windows 8 install disc my manufacturer because I don't have access to an iso of windows 8 DVD/USB to boot from. Are there other options I can try as I wait to hear from Sony on an installation disk? I am so far not impressed with 8 in all, the system "Advanced Boot options" auto seems ridiculous to me.

I looked at the options for creating the installation of Windows 8 media, and I have access to another computer running Windows Vista to create this, but I don't have access to a product key of Windows 8, because my Sony notebook came with the operating system pre-installed, and I couldn't find a key product or on the laptop itself , or anywhere in the documentation that accompanies it. For this reason, the Installation of Windows 8 media doesn't seem to be an option for me.

However I saw a feature on my phone that allows me to start directly on the boot advanced options. an assist beside my power button which, when I hold while the laptop is turned off, starts directly at the menu said.

Now that I have access to advanced startup options, I tried an auto-recovery, he said was not possible, and I also had the same thing when you attempt a system refresh, so was the only thing I was able to reset to the factory settings.

I still have no idea what triggered the problem, or why it was not possible for automatic retrieval or update it, however it seems to work fine now that it is restored to factory settings, though not ideal or practical.

  • Opening Firefox, open tab (unwanted) tab and startup options. All started to do this.

Why when I open Firefox it opens a tab 'Options '. I did nothing to cause this. May not know how to stop it?
    Thank you

You can check the setting of the homepage:

    • Tools > Options > general > startup: Homepage

Firefox supports several home pages separated by ' |' symbol (pipe).

If you do not keep the changes after a reboot or have problems with preferences, see:

  • When Firefox startup options, ' show my windows and tabs "is grayed out?

Tools, options, general - startup of firefox

I would choose "show my windows and tabs from last time", but it is grayed out?

Looks like you may have a few other changed settings that prevent the restoration of your tabs and windows of Firefox. Here's what to check:

    1. At the top of the Firefox window, click the Firefox (Tools menu in Windows XP), and then click Options
    2. Select the Privacy panel and make sure Firefox will: is set to remember history or use the custom settings for history.
      • If the conservation rules: is set to use custom settings for history then make sure that the Permanent private browsing mode is not enabled.
      • If the conservation rules: is set to use custom settings for historical history clear when closing Firefox is selected, and then click the settings button and make sure that the navigation history is not enabled.
    3. Click OK to close the Options window
  • F8 not taking advance me startup options

Hi, I have a Toshiba Equium L350D and I tried to install XP with no luck. I just formatted the C: drive (I've taken care of that incase I need to use HARD drive recovery).
When I press F8 at startup upwards, it takes me to the recovery options. I do not have the recovery disks, but when I try to use it, I get an error PXE.

    Thanks in advance

When the C partition and the start-up of any structure is changed you will not be able to use the F8 option more.
One way to install Vista and once again the factory settings is to use the Toshiba Recovery DVD.
I don't know why your DVD doesn t work but please try again.

Turn on your laptop and press F12 for the Boot Manager. Put the recovery DVD in the optical disc drive, in the list, select CD/DVD and press ENTER.
Just follow the menu on the screen.

  • SA40 has no startup options and does not load Windows

    Hello everyone

I just met my first problems with my SA40-702. I got it about 2 years and everything was fine.

The machine will not start is no longer in Windows. He's sitting there for hours with the screen of boot of windows XP, the bar of scroll nothing happens. I tried to access the CD/DVD drive to reinstall windows, but I can't boot from it!

I have had so much try 'C' nothing happens.

    I tried "F12" nothing happens.

I tried several copies of windows and the boot disks, but there is no success.

I was in the BIOS and removed the password so it now reads "unregistered" I am unable to change the menu boot options. All that I can change it is time and the password.

Any help on changing the options of startup, or as to why the machine will not let me choose the CD as boot device would be appreciated.

Infact I can't choose ANY boot device.

As far as windows goes all start attempts including safe mode etc do not work. They just plant rather then wait eternally for restart.

    I hope someone can help!

    Thank you
    Richard

  • 15 laptop ac101TU: impossible to select DVD as startup options

A blue screen appears on my PC saying 'your PC came across a problem. Let's restart for you. " Then my PC can't start saying he needs a recovery such as USB or DVD media. While I ordered a HP recovery kit. During this time, I downloaded the ISO of Windows 10 of Microsoft store file and created a bootable DVD using Microsoft DVD download tool. Now to allow booting from the DVD I have disabled startup secured in the BIOS Setup and saved. Then I turned off my PC. Then start it by pressing ESC. Then, I go to f9 to select boot options. But I have not found the option to boot from the DVD. There are only two options are to come - OS boot manager and boot to the EFI file.

Then I enabled legacy startup. Then boot from the hard drive for laptop is coming. But still the option to boot from the DVD does not come.

Please help me in this regard.

    Hello

Run the tool again, but this time select this option to create the ISO file option.

When you have the iso file, use Rufus to create the bootable flash drive.

    Kind regards

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

According to the description, I understand that you are unable to select another option of Windows.

    Thanks for the screenshot.

I would like to know some information.

    1. How long are you facing this problem?

    2. Were you able to see the option Windows 8.1 front?

As I can see in the screen shot Windows 8.1 is not listed it may not be installed correctly before.

You may have to reinstall Windows 8.1 again.

Hope this information helps. Please let us know if you need any other help with Windows in the future. We will be happy to help you.
