U840-111 satellite shows an error at startup

Basically, I was using my laptop computer and suddenly, he crashed and grew the "blue screen of death" I restarted and let the restore program starting run.

After that he had finished he kept makes this message 'there is a problem because of evil to disconnect a device as an external hard drive. If this message persists, contact your hardware vendor... I tried to reboot several times but nothing helped. I think I might need to restart using a boot disk (which is a problem that the laptop didn't come with an os disc) or even take it to be repaired.

Any advice.

Stand by.
According to specification your U840-111 was delivered with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit pre-installed. Original recovery image is saved on the HARD drive and it is strongly recommended, and described in the user s manuals document the laptop owner should create recovery media that can be used if the disk HARD recovery doesn't work.

For notebooks without optical drive, it is clearly described that recovery media bootable USB can be created using preinstalled Toshiba recovery media creator tool. So first question: you created this bootable USB key?
>... and let the start of the restoration program managed
Do you mean that you have started the HARD recovery disk image installation?
> I use a USB boot drive.
Does that mean exactly?

I have it on my old desk, and bought a HARD drive with a USB caddy, if disk HARD just looked like an external drive.

Yes, you can remove the HARD drive and connect it to your other laptop / PC with USB HDD external enclosure. With the help of this forum you can connect your HARD drive as an external device that must be recognized and listed in the Windows Explorer, so you can have full access to all your stored data.

Back up all your data and put the HARD drive in your laptop.

Usually, if there is not a hardware problem you can start your laptop and press F12 to get into the boot menu. When the boot menu appears on the screen that you can put the recovery disk of information optical disk drive, choose the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER. After making this optical drive should start the disc and start to copy the data to the HARD drive.

What you can do before you start using the recovery disc is to enter the BIOS and set it to default settings.

Please try it and send feedback.

Not all SSD drives are compatible it might be a BIOS<->SSD drive compatibility issue but its certainly NOT BIOS corruption as you suggested.
Sometimes, manufacturers of SSDS offer an update of the firmware of SSD
If these updates does not resolve the SSD drive, try another disc SSD
But in general the disk SATA SSD or HDD must be supported.

    Hello

    > first I tried to get the common modules, but it wouldn't let me not and showed about 16-bit message
I hope that you have used the file common right modules. If you use the modules of common law that the installation process should run without any problems.
The fact is that this program is very important and necessary. Without the common modules Toshiba tool does not work properly.

I would recommend formatting the entire HARD drive and do a fresh install from the recovery CD.
The energy saver is a part of the recovery CD and works.

    Hello

Hmm you ve you have a problem with the Vista boot! :|

Usually, this message appears because the BIOS can not find a source of start-up as ODD or HARD drive and then try to boot from LAN.

Perhaps the BIOS can not find HARD drive due to a hardware problem.

Hmmm. First of all, you should try to change the boot order in the BIOS. Put the HARD drive as first boot device.
Save the settings and try to restart the laptop. If it is not possible to start the Windows Vista I guess that HARD drive is dead!

Have you tried to reinstall Windows Vista using the Toshiba Recovery CD? Check this box!

If all this procedures don't help I recommend you contact the ASP in your country.
The technician must check the laptop and if necessary, it should replace the HARD drive.
Your warranty is valid so that everything should be done for free.

    Good luck

Method 1: Put the computer to boot and see if it helps.
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: follow step 7 to reset the computer to start as usual after the boot process.

Opengl32.dll is not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. I reinstalled the graphics drivers. During the execution of the games, it shows this error. What should I do to fix this? Is it a graphic file or a file from microsoft?

    Hi Jason,

    1. What is the number of brand and model of your system and graphics card?

2 did you a recent software or hardware changes to the system?

This error can be caused by an application, including any old games you have installed on your system.

Because you tried to reinstall the drivers for video card, you can try to perform a clean boot and check if it helps.

A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.

You can read the following article to put the computer in a clean boot:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.
