  Just a follow-up for everyone who was watching this.

  I opened a case with VMWare and they were not helpful at all. They told me to delete and recreate the virtual machine.

  I ended up having a maintenance window and was able to turn off the virtual machine and add memory. After starting up the option is back.

  You can enable the feature add hot power-CLI, but you will need a restart in order to reload the new configuration.

  I use for my virtualization vmware vsphere environment. I have enterprize license. I am able ti cpu/memory use hot add feature in edition ent windoiws 2003 and able to enable virtual machine settings. But same is not visible in linux virtual machine settings.

  Can you please help me.

  Hot add is picked up on some Linux distributions and only in 64-bit KB 1007275.  SLES11 and Ubuntu are two I've read at work.

• Memory Hot add, windows 2008 R2 standard?

  Hey guys, reading some contradictory documents on this subject, I would be able to hot add memory in Windows 2008 R2 Standard on Vsphere 4.0 without a reboot?

  I did the hot add in vcenter, but the module memory shows as an error on Windows Server, you cannot start device code (10) error...

  This will require a reboot?

  I am running Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit) OS invited under the latest version of vSphere 4 / ESXi and want hot add processors.  When I go to change the settings for the virtual machine, the CPU area is grayed out, so I can't change the number of processors.  What should I do to make this possible?

  If virtual hardware version is 7 and the operating system you have configured for the virtual computer supported taken add/hot hot you can enable this feature in the settings of the virtual machine, while the virtual machine is turned off. It is located in the Options tab under 'Advanced'-> ' memory/CPU Hotplug. "

  I'm under esx4.0, with all kinds of guest virtual machines (2003, 2008, 2008r2, std, ent, x 64). I don't have the option add hot for one of these clients.  It is simply absent on options & gt; Advanced tab.  What am I misssing here?

  It will show only if it is an option for the operating system for some versions it won't be there.  Also, what version of material are your virtual machines?  Must be version 7 I think.

• Hot add RAM Option not visible

  I upgraded the VMs tools and equipment (v7), but do not see the option to add hot RAM.

  The attached doc shows a Windows 2003 Server operating system with the options of the virtual machine.

  I don't see the line that allows me to turn on the option.

  I have to do something else to enable the option Add Hot for RAM?

  You must add pwer down virtual machine initially to turn hot.

  On your second photo screen you can see hot add is disabled and you cannot change this setting only when the virtual machine is turned off.

  1. turn off your virtual computer, then change the settings.

  2. go to Options > advanced > memory/CPU hotplug

  3 activate hot-memory add to this virtual machine.

  4. turn on the virtual machine and the test.

  Hello

  Unfortunately you can not replace the CPU existing with a "new dual core CPU" because your system is not designed for dual-core cpu´s.
  There are many arguments why not replace the cpu, the most important argument is that the dual core cpu mechanically and electrically fit on the motherboard.

  So, if you want a faster machine then buy a new one because you won´t have additional options to update your computer.

  HI, would like to replace my CPU fan. I am under the HP/Compaq SR2180NX, processor is a Pentium D 2.80 GHz. Running win7 64, Fan is running and very hot.

• Satellite L500 is not start after replacing the CPU fan

  Hi guys, I just replaced my cpu fan because the former was noisy and only working at half speed, I also had a couple of farm of downs due to overheating. The day that I removed the old fan the laptop was working fine and I stopped via the Start button and disconnected power and all the other wires.

  I installed the new fan today, put everything, plugged in the power cable, power led ok, ok... hold the power button led charge, led came to start on, turning on the fan, no hard drive does not display goes out again in 20 seconds, only power led and led load display.

  Unplugged all, disasembled and checked all my connections were ok, tried, always the same problem, checked the fleas memory sharp and even cleaned for hard drive always the same problem...
  Anyone out there who can help me please...?

  Have you added the cooling grease after removing the cooling module?

  But with this machine, except if you use it just for the essential (and nothing more recent than the manufactured 2005-2006ish date topic installed on it) - I suggest not wasting money.  Do pretend, raise money and then don't buy it.  What to do for the next few months and buy some replacement $ 300 with twice the processor, three times the RAM and probably several times in the space of hard drive... ;-)

  Create a custom report for our requirement.

  * Click on the general TAB on the right pane - action-> click on create dashboard.

  * Select use all data-> next-> name of the dashboard-> next-> select the type of column-> finish.

  * Click on the data TAB, expand VMware-ESX host > & slipped, objects-> to select create Table

  * Select Show all on the shortcut menu select Properties.

  Select ESX, ESX version build:

  Expand CPU-CPU host-> consumer > select high CPU.

  Expand the memory-> memory host--> Select MemoryProcesses top of the page.

  Expand Stoarge-> storage-> process host select high IO-> next-> next-> next-> select the ESX host to add to this table of edge/report from the list of filters under-> click Finish.

  If this point of view to the table, I've found metric to the graph view.

  But when we ran the report, values showed n/a, unfortunately. For the cluster option, I can't use superior even to the table view.

  Some can help me pull vFoglight report.

  One way to do this easier would be to create an array with the elements you want on it, as the name of the virtual machine, the use of the processor etc... and then you can filter/sort by CPU utilization, memory usage etc. and only have the Top 10 or anything else you like.
