Ultra Fit of 64 GB flash drive capacity reduction

I used my sandisk Ultra Flashdrive Fit distribute windows 10.

Microsoft sotware configured my flash drive must be a bootable USB key.

After distribution/installation, I wiped the flash drive and discovered that the capacity has been reduced to 32 GB. about half of the original 64 GB.

I formatted the drive using Explorer files from Ms.

I tried both FAT32 and NTFS, but capacity remained 32 GB only.

How can I recover the missing ability?

Please notify.

Sandisk helpdesk advised me to use a USB at HP tool to solve the problem.

That solved the problem and the player is now in it's orginal capacity; about 58 GB

  • Is it safe to buy SanDisk Ultra adapt USB 3.0 flash drive in all sizes for their part start?

    Hello

I just read your incompatible experiences regarding the ability to boot from different readers of Sandsisk.

To be more precise, is it safe to buy the discs above (North American model numbers):

    SDCZ43 - 016G - A46 - 16 GB

    SDCZ43 - 032G - A46 - 32 GB

    SDCZ43 - 064G - A46 - 64 GB

    SDCZ43 - 128G - A46 - 128 GB

at the start of one of them.

Under Windowss, you can use FAT, FAT32 for sizes 32GB or less, NTFS for 64 GB or more. Ok.

I've always wondered how to do a 64GB or more large disk bootable under Linux or Mac OS X?

    Thanks for your clarification!

SanDisk did not burst as the hard drives over the years.  Is there the sellers offering some of the old stock, no doubt.  There sellers of counterfeit discs, certainly.  Are there readers used sellers, certainly. Are there vendors selling readers and not allowing them to return if the buyer is unhappy, certainly.

So, rather than worry about the model numbers, worry to buy from a reliable source, so if you have a problem you can return. Quickly & easily.  New SanDisk flash drives are all seen as removable Windows.   And Easy2Boot will make them bootable., even on the new UEFI systems, which should be more a problem starting model guarantees.

  • Nighthawk R8500, USB 3.0 Flash drive not recognized USB 3.0 Port, Port of only 2.0

My Nighthawk R8500 router with the latest firmware, V1.0.2.54_1.0.56, does not recognize my SanDisk Ultra Fit 128 GB USB 3.0 Flash drive when it is connected to the router USB 3.0 Port. The Ultra Fit is formatted in FAT32 and works fine when plugged into USB Port 2.0 router or my laptop.

At first, I thought maybe USB 3.0 Port on my router wasn't working at all, but it recognizes my SanDisk 16 GB Cruzer USB 2.0 Flash Drive that is also formatted FAT 32. Unfortunately both my laptop have USB 2.0 Ports, so I don't know if the problem is with the router or the Ultra Fit Flash Drive. Everyone knows about this problem of their Flash 3.0 player is not recognized in USB 3.0 Port their router, especially with a SanDisk Ultra Fit? This problem can be resolved through firmware? I'd really like to take full advantage of the speed of USB 3.0 as I like to share files through my router via ReadyShare and ReadyCloud.

  • MacBook Pro not recognize Flash Drive/USB

    Hi all

I'm reading the display, but I am still having problems with the connection of external drives directly (to the two USB ports or over the network).

More recently, I got a new USB Flash drive that can connect to my iPhone, iPad 12 "Pro and even my older laptop Samsung Galaxy AND when connected to a PC, they all read, I even downloaded and installed the app on my iPad and iPhone to read and use the drive (drive Mobile, i-USB-Stocker).

I have Apple Care and reached out to their troubleshooting why and was advised that if he isn't an Apple drive, unit of time machine, or essentially bought in a store so that they will not support it.

I use and hub USB external to add other readers USB, and these work fine.  I have looked at the system report and think I found the device, but do not yet appear on finder or display on the desktop like any other.

  • Can anyone recommend a good for a MacBook Pro USB flash drive?

I have just implemented a new of the retina end 2015 13 "MacBook Pro and you are looking for a 128 GB + good for fast backups flash drive while looking around a hard drive for use with Time Machine or SuperDuper.

I'm particularly interested in: (1) A flash drive that is pre-formatted for a platform of Mac OS X for recent models. (Couldn't find it from what I saw on Amazon.)  (2) I believe that the current MacBook Pro USB 3.0, but yet there seems to be a lot of disc memory flash USB 2.0 autour.  Anyone found a good 3.0 flash drive Mac compatible in size 128 - or 200 GB? (3) If you happen to have one, it would be swell to find a drive lean enough to fit comfortably in a port USB of the MacBook, even if something is next to him.

    Thanks - much appreciated suggestions!

  • Pavilion P7 1423W: how to insert a Flash drive

I want to get about 100 GB of memory in my computer, so I bought a flash drive with a capacity of 128 GB.  However, unlike my old Vista HP Pavilion which just broke down a couple of weeks, this computer doesn't have an opening on the front for a flash drive.  There is a place for a memory stick, but it's not big enough or properly shaped.  I should mention that I bought this computer there when my Vista started giving me bad, but he rallied and finally crashed fatally 2 weeks there almost 3 years.  So, I finally opened the Pavilion P7 computer 1423W (still sealed in its box) and started setting up.

Is there no place on this computer that will accept a flash drive?

    Hello

Your computer has 2 ports USB 3.0 in the front as indicated on the following sheet:

Your USB drive (USB key) must match one of the two USB ports.

I tried to use the hub USB Toshiba provided, no chance either :(

2 USB ports are ok I use mouse, digital camera with her.
Is the 16 GB USB key, it works perfectly with other machines. * desktop pcs *.

I'm missing a few USB drivers or what is the problem?

  • Laptop HP 15-R084NG: is it possible to copy a HP recovery on another USB flash drive support?

    Hello.

    Just a few questions please:

    1. when I do only once "HP Recovery Media" to a USB key, I can then 'copy' and 'paste' on another USB flash drive as long as the 2nd flash player has sufficient capacity?

    The recovery still works well?

I ask this question in case I have to change to another USB flash drive and I am aware I can only have a copy of the HP recovery.

    2. If this is the case, I then can also make a backup on a Western Digital external drive so that in case of malfunction of the USB flash drive, can I still transfer files to another USB flash drive?

Thanks in advance for the answer.

  • SanDisk ultra fit 128 GB of low size, slow and defective

I just bought 3 USB keys at amazon. A 128 GB PNY (very fast) and 2 Sandisk ultra fit (32 GB and 128 GB). The Sandisk 128 GB must errors about 114 Go in 115 GB of total space. I plan to replace with amazon, but wonder it is possible to download some software from Sandisk to try to 'fix' the faulty unit. I've never done this before, where my question. I read on some overheating problems on this forum that could be the cause of the cells fried in flash. I don't know anything about, but it raises concerns about the ability to keep the camera steady for the 5-year warranty you provide. I have reflected on a downloadable software on your Internet site for repair, but found none. Could you please answer to, it is possible to fix it or if I better return it for a refund and get another brand or maybe even just a simple replacement. Speed of 4K of the 128 GB it is half that of the 32 GB (read and write - 3½MB/s against 7 Mbps and 2 Mbps vs. 4 MB/s). Usable storage of 128 GB of Sandisk's 115GB. The PNY 128 GB usable storage is 126 GB. The issue of size is of no interest, just raise it now that I had a problem. However, the issue of speed could be linked to the flash error and raise a few red flags.

    Thank you

    Kasper Lindvig

I'm not aware of all solve this software for your problem, and even if there is I would not recommend it for a new purchase.  What you bought seems to be used or defective and I return it.  And I would buy one that follows from a different source.

You also have the option to send it to SanDisk for a replacement, who will be guaranteed is not a used one.

  • HP Pavilion g6 Notebook Windows 8 flash drive system backup and recovery

I have a HP Pavilion Notebook PC g6 with an operating system of Windows 8. I want to create a feedback system for recovery with a flash drive. The HP support assistant says that a minimum 22GB flash disk is required. I bought a 32 GB Cruzer flash drive and tried to create my recovery disk. Although my computer recognizes the device, the HP Wizard not to light up when I pushed the flash drive option and the position of the screen continued to read insert the media device. It was'nt by registering or by recognizing that I had inserted device. In one of the pages HP I was reading, he said not to use a widows compatible flash 8 player! I don't understand. What should I do? What kind of flash drive I should get that would do the job and what size of capacity? Please, please help me someone!

    Hello

The problem is caused by the application Recovery Media Creator not recognizing flash drives that show, like 'Fixed readers'-, it will only recognize the flash drives that appear as a "removable disk.  In the example below, Dave (G) shows as a reader fixed and won't work, while removable disk (H) will work.

Unfortunatelt there is no totally reliable method to predict what flash drives are suitable, but thanks to @erico the following flash drives known to work.

I'm doing a back up on my laptop for the first time. I want to know how long does take to make it complete? and can I use a flash drive to put it on the back

Yes, you can use a flash drive.

It is conventional to use an external hard drive. Mine has a capacity of 1 TB of sub Canandian $100.

As for how long, it varies. Depends on the amount of files to back up.

I think that the first time I did it was an hour.

The next backup would be shorter because he'll be increment backup... just save those who are new.
