Unable to add printer drivers 64-bit to a 32-bit Server 2003 Server universal

I have a Laserjet 2015n that is shared on the network by a Secure Server 2003 R2 32 bit.  I'm trying to add 64-bit drivers for my Win7 laptop can access.  The HP site has only universal printer drivers, I downloaded but when I try to add them I get "the specified location does not a driver...". "because the 2015 isn't in the INFs.

How can I get around this?  I've seen solutions that suggest the Win7 laptop to connect to the printer via the USB port and install the driver in this way.  It is a major business issue so that the solution is not acceptable. I also had someone suggest using the hpfx64bulk.sys file but I can't find an inf file that works with either.

Thanks for any help.

Hello again Shlomi,

I tried the fix you suggested and got the error "unable to install the printer.  The print processor does not exist.  It's the same if I try to install the drivers for the shared printer or existing TCP/IP port.

What I did in the end, is to change the driver that I used on the 2003 server to use the universal printer driver and then the 64-bit option was available.  Simple in the end, I guess!

Kind regards

  • Add print drivers

    Hi guys,.

When I reinstalled my mbp, I remember having the option to install print drivers which weighted about 1.3 GB, for the moment, I rejected it and now I can not install any printer IP (no AirPrint) of work, my question is: How can I access this window to install additional print drivers on my El Capitan?

    Thanks in advance.

Apple 'packages' of manufacturers to facilitate the installation of the printer drivers. There's nothing more than that.

If you do not have a driver installed for your printer, visit the manufacturer Web site, download the latest driver available for your printer model family, then install it.

Once you do this, future Apple drivers will be installed automatically when they are available.

  • Unable to add printer to eprint.

I tried to change my printer a couple of times, then deactivation and activation service eprint and apps on my hp officejet 8500, the code for the printer I receive is the same. I tried several times the printer code after each intial response to disable the eprint and apps on the printer service and renabling. Nothing works. You receive this e-mail because you have previously accessed HP ePrintCenter website with a Facebook account, and having a printer added to this account. You will be is no longer able to connect to HP ePrintCenter using your Facebook credentials. You will need to create a new HP ePrintCenter account and add your printer to this account. To do this, follow these steps:

    Hi uri2013,

I'm terribly sorry that you have some difficulties.  To get a new code on the printer, remove it, then re - enable web services.  Go to your printer by selecting configuration > Web Services > restore factory settings.  After it is finished, go back to Setup > Web Services put back up.  In addition, the number of Cloud Services is a U.S. number.  Please let me know how it goes.

  • Windows can't open add printer: access denied

I get Windows can't open add printer: access denied.  This happens in Windows 7 SP1 64 bit system.  Could use a little help.

    Hi DickDolan,

-Connect you with an administrator account?

If you get an access denied message, this indicates that you don't have enough permissions to complete this operation.

Method 1: There is a hotfix released to resolve this issue. The same download and install. Check if it helps you to fix the problem.
Method 2: Try the steps listed here and add the printer manually and check if it helps.

    a. open Printers by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, hardware and sound and then click Printers.
    b. click Add a printer.
    (c) in the Add Printer Wizard, click Add a local printer.
    d. click on create a new port. Make sure that Local Port is selected in the list, and then click Next.
    e. in the Port name dialog box, type the name of \\computer name\printer, and then click OK.

For example: If the computer you want to connect is named Bob and the printer called HP then the path would be \\Bob\HP

    f. complete the rest of the wizard and then click Finish.

  • Printer drivers for Windows 7 64 Bit.

Recently installed Windows 7 64 bit on my new i7 computer.    Incredibly FAST.   I use the Autodesk REVIT 3D construction modeling program.   Make a model of quality higher on my old core 2 duo would take almost an hour.   With the 64 bit on i7 with 3 GB of ram and graphics card same OS, same rendering would take a little more than 1 minute!
PROBLEM!   Cannot find 64-bit print drivers for 2 of my 3 Canon printers.   OK driver for Canon ix5000 A3 printer but no driver for Canon i865 my old BJC 5500 A2 or A4 printer bubble jet printer which is essential for my work.    Have you checked of course Canon Web site, but could not find what I need and Canon does not seem to help.   Might be there somewhere but couldn't find it.   Without printer drivers, the 64-bit system is useless.
Surprisingly ALL OTHER WORKS on the 64 bit OS.   Even some older applications of v.   I expected instead that the drivers etc would be no problem since we are told that the world is about to go soon 64 bit.
Someone there had business or relationship problems with the printer drivers for 64-bit Windows?   Any help appreciated coz I'd go 64-bit.

    Computer details:
Core i7 920 CPU on the motherboard Gigabyte GA EX58 UD4P.   3 x 1 GB Corsair xms RAM 1600.   1 TB Seagate Barracuda SATA HDD.   With the help of old graphic card Asus EN8600GTS.
Case Antec Solo.   With the help of an old power supply 450w awaiting the arrival of Antec Truepower PSU (No. Gaming) 550W.   Bought the new copy of XP Home but Windows 7 is currently experimenting and will certainly upgrade to Windows 7 when it was released.

You can try using the Vista drivers. If they do not (or do not exist), your only recourse is to get hold of the gun and see if they have plans to write drivers for these printers (or to replace the printer or the operating system). The mftr material. wrote drivers for their devices. The mftr material. is the * only * person who will do that, not the creator of the operating system that you use (Windows). All hardware drivers that come with Vista and Win7 were written by mftrs of various materials. and provided to Microsoft for inclusion. If the material mftr. no no intend to write new drivers for a specific device, then it's the end of this story. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

I'm unable to install the drivers for the Intel CS630 PC camera for windows7 64-bit?

If it's a camera for INTEL it website should have the good

    64-bit to Win 7 64 bit software.

Some older hardware will not work on newer 64-bit systems.

check your websites of manufacturers of games for win7 64 bit compatibility.

Try your game in compatibility mode in Windows 7.

to say the least there are a huge amount of games and

  • Windows 7 XPS and OneNote 2010 Printer Drivers not installed

I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and Office 2010 beta on a gateway M285-e. I can't print XPS or OneNote 2010 file. When I go to check the properties of the printer, I get an error reading:
"The 'send to Microsoft OneNote driver 2010 Driver' (or"Microsoft XPS Document Writer") is not installed on this computer."
He asked if I would like to install the driver. If I say yes, it takes me to the Add Printer Wizard. Where is this driver? Why these drivers would not be in the operating system if the printer is installed by default?

After asking a few friends and family about the suggestions I found the solution to my problem. Apparently the driver "Microsoft XPS Document Writer" had for some reason any been uninstalled. Do not know why. I was able to reinstall the driver after Microsoft had it implemented as a physical printer on a custom port. To install I had to find the brand and model of the printer (make: 'Microsoft'; model: "Microsoft XPS Document Writer") in the master list in the Add Printer Wizard and complete the wizard. This fixed the problem of the XPS Document. It also fixes printing on printer OneNote 2010 as well. I was never able to find the driver to print to OneNote feature, but apparently the feature depends on printing on XPS document printer. Setting the XPS print driver paper fixed both of my problems.

  • Share the printer for 64 bit with 32-bit system

I have a new HP Vista 64 bit with a HP deskjet 5150 printer system.  I want to share with a hp windows XP 32 bits of the system.  I see the printer from the 32-bit system but does not print to it.  I tried to load the 32-bit driver on the 64 bit system and could not do.  I tried to load the 64 bit 32 bit system driver and does not...  I didn't chance to find answers in the other boards except they usually referring to the fact that it is possible.

I can share files without problem.  Any solution?  Thanks for any help

I found my own answer and thought I should share.

    Hi guys
I hope that this could help save a bit of research and serious puzzle.

I have a native machine to Vista X 64 bit with some printers on it with 64-bit drivers, but still need to connect / access these printers on some machines to Windows XP bit (32).

"You cam't use the usual thing to set up a local since tcpip port drivers 32-bit installs not on the 64-bit computer, and in all cases, you will get - driver invalid for this OS" or an equivalent message.

In any case, here's how - simple when you know how, but it took me FOREVER to find the answer.

    (1) make sure that on the remote computer if ensure that you have enabled sharing so you can access the device remotely on your network printer.

    (2) Please make sure you have the correct native drivers installed on your XP machine.

    (3) in the new printer ADD Wizard (Panel) set up LOCAL printer add ATTACHED to THIS COMPUTER (ignore the fact that it is on the remote machine) and uncheck the automatically search plug-and-play devices.

We're going to 'Poodlefake' the remote printer to think that it is actually attached to the 32-bit machine this is why you must have the correct driver installed on the 32-bit computer.

    (4) now, click NEXT. Create a new port-LOCAL port type online. Click next

    (5) on the next screen, you will need to enter a port name.
What you have to do here, is to enter the \\computername\sharename
for example, if your remote computer is studionetwork and that you have shared the printer as epson1290
    then enter here \\studionetwork\epson1290

    (6) you will get a prompt (on the XP machine) which driver you want to use - because you have already installed the drivers then just scroll down until you see the correct printer.

-That's just mainly a test page and it works - your pilot will be just 'Pass through' 64-bit machine.

TOU will not however in most cases be able to recover data from the printer such as the levels of ink etc. You will have to do it on the remote computer.

Hope this helps - I know a lot of people are upgrading machines now - then you might have a certain 32 / 64-bit mixed environments and of course some older printers will not even 64-bit drivers.

Note that this works as well - reverse your computer 64 bit VISTA or Windows 7 can use a printer connected to a 32-bit computer. Do in the same way.

  • Failed to open the Add Printer window. access denied...

Running a win7 HP Pavillion dv 6000.  Downloaded all the updates. the printer is on a wireless network.  I can print and scan and ping from cmd line and see the printer.  Yet he does not appear in devices and printers. And when I do try and add the printer, I get the window "can't open add printer." access denied. "  When I tried the cmd line, he wants to settle down on the network.  its already up and running on the network. The printer and scanner both appear in Device Manager, even if I have to open 'show hidden devices' to see, but they tell me the drivers are not installed, but they are.

I am logged in as administrator. BTW I also just installed the same printer on a new computer win7 hp desktop and and it worked fine. I can also access it from another laptop running xp. all on the same network.

Don't think that bothers me as well if it didn't work, but it does not work.  The machine just tell me its there!

A big thank you to all those who might lend a hand.  And I don't know 'if it isn't broken don't fix.'

    Hi Worktel,

    • You have a third-party security software installed on the computer?

Step 1, I suggest to access the link below and follow the steps in the article to run a Printing Troubleshooter.  http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/why-cant-I-print

    Step 2

If the printer troubleshooter help you to solve the problem and you are unable to open add a printer, you can also try to temporarily disable the security software from the computer and try to verify if can install the printer and print. If gets detected and if you can print, you can contact the manufacturer of security software and check if you need to change the settings. Later, re-enable the security software.

    Step 3

If the steps above do not help, you can try to create a new administrator account on your computer and check to see if you can install it.

To create a new user account, follow these steps:

    a. open user accounts by clicking on the button start the picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, click user accounts and family safety (or by clicking on user accounts, if you are connected to a network domain), and then clicking user accounts.

    b. click on manage another account. Administrator permission. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    c. click on create a new account.

    d. type the name you want to assign to the user account, click a type of account administrator and then click on create an account.

If it works fine in the new user account, you can access the link and follow the steps for the corrupt profile Fix:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/fix-a-corrupted-user-profile

Hope this helps and let us know the result.
