Unable to connect my Officejet Pro 8600 to the network because of administrator settings

Hello

I recently bought an opportunity of Officejet Pro 8600 and I am unable to set it to my home network.  When I put in place-> network-> Wireless Setup Assistant (and all options in the network menu and many others) I get a message that says: "this feature has been locked by your system administrator or the person who set up the printer."

Help, please.  How to get around this problem and unlock all the menu items that are locked?

A milion, thank you

Hello derekd01,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you are unable to connect wireless Officejet 8600 because you receive a message "this feature has been locked by your system administrator. I will do my best to help you!

There is an administrator through the Embedded Web Sever settings, but in order to access it, it must be connected to a wireless network. Unfortunately, you are unable to access the wireless configuration. There are two options you can try:

(1) you can connect an Ethernet cord, and then go to the Embedded Web Sever.

(2) you can install the printer on your computer by a USB cable. Complete installation, and then follow this HP document convert a connected USB printer wireless. Once this operation is complete, you can access the Embedded Web Sever.

Once you get this printer, follow these steps in the Embedded Web Sever:

(1) at the very top of the page, click on settings, then password settings
(2) if there is a username and password, please remove this item and click on apply

Please post your results, I will be looking forward to hear from your part have a good night!

I can't get WiFi HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-all-in-one printer connect to internet... at least I think that's the problem. I followed all the instructions on the HP print and Scan doctor as well as solve problems of failure to install HP. • Connected HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus status reads "problem with printer."

I could just ePrint on an OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus replacement and them have not used for printing yet. I was in the devices page to manage the settings and change an address for one of my devices. The newly added column 8600 State reads 'Online', but also 'problem with printer '. Instructions I was referring to the display panel of the unit for Outlook2003 on the given problem. A check of the display surface showed no information, just a typical home screen. I checked through the display print and found no problems-all functionality is enabled and fully functioning. I checked then the functions of printer in the window 'Printers and devices' of all computers (all running Windows 7 Professional) on the office network. The 8600 are active and full functionality works correctly between the printer and all the computers.

I then close the printer 8600, left for several minutes, and then lit it back and reconnected. The State says 'Problem with printer' remains in the device window HP.

I am at a loss as to what this supposed problem can be and don't know what should be a next step. Does anyone have any advice or information that could help in this situation? It would be appreciated. Thanks in advance to those who could help

HP support responded to my question by e-mail. I was told that the message 'Problem with the printer' is due to a bug in their system. Also said that as long as the status column indicates the printer is "Online" and everything else is fnctioning correctly, don't worry about this.

I consider that a resolution of the post!

  • OfficeJet PRO 8600: Reset the administrative password on an Officejet PRO 8600

I lost a large part of the contents of a Mac 4 years when an electrical short burned inside in a way that Apple could not determine the cause. The end result is that I found that the administrative password for my 8600 died with the old Mac that I have been unable to recover the keychain that had all the information a password in it. I wish now that more importance was pointed out in the instructions when passwords have been set up, on the future need for them to use as many important features of the printer.

I would appreciate much all guidanc I can get in how to reset the administrative password of my 8600.

    Hi @Redwoc,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see that you are trying to reset the administrative password for your HP Officejet Pro 8600, and I'm happy to help you!

You can do a reset of the printer using the LED screen on the printer. Select Configuration, then Tools, then restore the default settings. "Restore default settings" is the last element of the list, and then you must scroll down to see it.

This clears all the settings of the printer, including the administrator password.

    I hope this helps!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 causes the computer cursor indicate that the system is busy (turning circle)

I have connected the Officejet pro 8600 printer to my wireless home network and continuously now the cursor on the computer will indicate that the system is busy producing a turning circle every 5 to 10 seconds. The computer is running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit operating system.  I went to the Task Manager on the computer and has determined that a file named HpNetworkCommunicator.exe is the origin of the problem in cycling on and off (looking for a signal). I turned on the printer and the file remains on and the problem is solved. However, I don't want to leave the printer at any time, is anyway to stop this file from the search for the printer when the printer is turned off?  Thanks in advance.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus the Scanner Software

    Hello

I'm a big fan of HP products.  My last several printers, scanners and computers were all HP.

I recently bought the HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus to replace an older machine with similar features (ADF, duplex, etc.).  The previous machine was also an HP printer.

The problem I encounter is that the software appears to have been downgraded.  The software on my previous machine had the ability to automatically analyze the photos laid on the flat bed scanner in individual jpg.  With the software on this computer, it seems that I need to manually crop each image.  The options for optimization of each picture, eliminating scratches, automatically adjust color, sharpness, etc. are all gone.

I really miss these features.  I found that I had been using a "basic" version of the software.  I installed the full version and found it a little different, but it still lacks the automatic selection of the image and image tweaks I did this inveterate of.

Is it possible to recover these options?

    Thank you

    -MrXmas

What I found there are some good options based on their comments, I'm not sure if they will have all the features you're looking for, but...

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 more than network problem

Hi I had this printer for a long time and I recently started to use functions such as printing on my network instead of print wireless wired after having several computers in the House and the feature works very well, but every time I restart the printer (I turn off every day to save energy), the connection does not work , and the display shows something like "not applicable". If I manually connect the printer to the network, then it works. But I want the connection to be consistent, not where I have to manually reconnect to the printer to my router everytime I turn on the printer. All solutions? Online tools that provides HP really doesn't help.

Hello @thehairdude , welcome to the forums there.

I saw your post on your Officejet 8600 more disconnect from your network and I am writing to share my suggestion.

See this link, which will help you to assign a static IP address, which normally stabilize the connection and prevents your printer down the network.

Printer keeps no connection Wi - Fi

    I hope this helps you!

  • How to remove lid on OfficeJet Pro 8600 for the digitization of large images

I'm an artist wanting to analyze some of my larger images.  This is not possible unless I can remove the cover (or it opens and go completely flat) on my OfficeJet Pro 8600.  Please tell me if this is possible and, if so, how.  Thank you!

Sorry, that the 8600 Officejet is not designed to have the cover removed for scanning.  There is a wire bundle between the ADF on the lid and the interns of printer below.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 loses the wireless connection

I have a 8600 OfficeJet Pro (n911a), which has lost its connection with the PC. The computer is running Windows 7 (64) and work very well for several months. Recently, when you try to print, the following message is displayed. I did several searches on the web and found that this has been a problem in class, but no clear solution. The only thing I tried was changing layout alarm ink 'always' to 'then of printing"that someone has suggested, but that did not help. Other bids I found indictate that this problem occurs when the printer is idle for a few hours, but restart it restores. This isn't the case here. The following error message:

Any advice/suggestions/etc are welcome. Thank you in advance.

Well, the problem was solved by uninstalling the software, and then reinstall the latest version of HP.

The only reason why that I did not it was in the first place because many comments I've seen on this issue before said they had already tried that and it didn't work. So, I didn't see no reason to waste my time trying something that might take a lot of time with little chance of success. However, the printer in question was still under warranty, so I was able to communicate directly with HP and it's what they me ultimately do. I was online with them for nearly 90 minutes to try other things first, but this is what worked in the end.

If you decide to try it yourself, I would say that you do not forget to completely uninstall the current version first. The tech. I chatted with told me that it would be unnecessary, but do not do so caused several other problems. I finally had to do a system restore, and then try again until it would work.

    So far so good.

  • OfficeJet pro 8600: cannot install the printer Officejet pro 8600 on work network using HP on Win10 software

I've recently updated my Surface 3 pro to win 11.  I try to install my printer using the HP installation software.  He worked with Win 8.1. The software has never been able to detect my printer automatically but in the past I could enter the IP address and it would connect.  This isn't the case, when I select wired connection, it just never fails to give me the opportunity to enter the ip address.  I can install the printer with the help of the W11 Control Panel, but the features of scan if the HP (HP printer assistant) software does not work it is frustrating for me.  Help, please.

    Kind regards

    Michael

I found the solution to this problem.  You just need to run automatic installation wired function twice and then it will ask for the IP address.  Once I did this and entered the IP address, it worked fine.  It must just be an option to start or appear after a failure.  I had to let it fail twice has been confusing.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600: Changed the wrong cartridge

I changed the ink wrong cartridge.  One that I used didn't need to be changed.  Once this cartridge is inserted in the printer it breaks a seal?  Or I can put it in the box for later use.  He was not in a sealed box.  It dries?

Oops - I thought the cartridges 564 style rather than the 950/951 (I have printers that use each here...).  To avoid any problem with cartridges 950 or 951, but you may be putting them in a bag for extra protection.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600: print the page top

When I print the forms on the internet - in this case a specific Web site - printing cost overruns the right margin of the page, so I see all of the form that is being printed.  Last year when I printed this form, it fits on the page very well.  Same computer, same printer

This happens on a number of sites that I deal with, so I don't think that there is a problem with the site, I think it's a problem with the installation of the printer, but I have no idea what could be the cause of the problem.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Hey @Monajo,

Thanks for getting back to me regarding this printing problem.

Now that we have isolated the problem to a problem of Mozilla Firefox, we can work toward a resolution. To begin troubleshooting I have you check the page scaling settings within Firefox. Please follow the steps below.

    1. open a Web site that you want to print from Mozilla Firefox

    2. click on the Firefox Menu option and select print

    3. you will now see a print preview of what will Mozilla Firefox 'send' for your printer to print. Click Page layout on the top

    4. in the Page layout dialog box, you can select the 'reduced to fit page width"or"scale"option If this is not the case try first "Reduced to fit Page Width" option. If it is already selected, choose the scale option. You can play with the scale. For example, I adjusted my scale to 20%. When I hit OK, the print preview window shows the document to print as tiny. That's what your printer will print. If it is too small, you can click the Page Setup button again and adjust the scale until you find a scale that displays the preview before print correctly.

    5. press print once you make all necessary settings.

Don't forget, your printer will print than it is "said" to print through the preview window before printing.

Please let me know if the setting of the "Shrink to the width of the Page" or "Scale" options fix this problem for you. Good luck!
