  • Unable to connect to a wireless network - "the network card know driver or hardware related issues.

    Can someone help with the following problem please?

    I'm unable to connect to the wireless network.

    I have an Acer Aspire 5315 with an Atheros AR5007EG wireless adapter. This shows that "working properly" in the Device Manager. I tried to re - install the drivers for it constantly. They seem to everyone install ok but I still have the problem.

    The symptoms are...

    (1) if I try to set up a wireless connection, I get "unexpected error occurred". There is no useful looking for messages in the event viewer.

    (2) if I use "Diagnose and repair" I get "knows the network adapter driver or hardware related issues.

    I uninstalled everything which I think could be the cause of conflicts. I scanned for malware. I have run chkdsk and sfc. I have all the updates from Windows Update. I tried in Safe Mode with networking, but still get the same results.

    OS is Vista Home Basic 32-bit SP2.

    I would be grateful for any advice that might help solve this please.

    I have now re-installed Windows and everything works fine.  I still have no idea what caused the problem, or if it could have been set without a re - install.

    Thanks for the replies.

  • No Internet access after the update from Windows 7

    Since the update of Windows 7 (from my list of update I can not single out one specific) sent 15 Dec - my computer will access my internet connection - the only way that I can access is to do a system restore to a point to Dec. 14 or before - I have a new computer - and no new programs have been added to the system during this time - it becomes troublesom because I have to constantly to do system restore to get online

    I called Support Center, Monday - and after having him work for almost 2 hours, we decided that the KB2467659 update is the culprit and we have disabled this update to be installed - HOWEVER the windows update program was H - LL BENT on installing this update - the technician called me back 2 days later Wednesday--and we did other things magic to ensure that this implementation to day has NOT been installed again - so far (knock wood) No recurrences of the problems

  • Unable to connect to my Skype after installing updates.

    Original title: access Skype.

    I can't connect to my Skype from this morning. It worked yesterday, Windows tells me he's going to try and solve the problem and let me know. How long it will take and how will that they informed me that it is fixed. Skype stopped after that Windows install updates on my PC yesterday. Not a happy Bunny!

    Hi valsturrock,

    Update that you installed before the problem?

    To view installed updates, you can follow these steps.

    a. Click Start, click all programs and then click Windows Update or Microsoft Update.

    b. on the Windows Update Web site or on the Microsoft Update Web site, click on view update history. A window opens that displays the updates that have been installed or that have failed to install on the computer.

    You try to run the system restore that will repair return the computer to the point while it was working fine.

  • BLUE SCREEN: UNABLE TO BOOT AFTER THE UPDATE OF ROUTINE WINDOWS XP

    Today, I was asked to restart my computer for the updates be taken into account (not my choice seemed automatic).  When I went to turn my computer back on later, it went straight to the blue screen.

    Therefore, Windows cannot restart once again! It stops at the blue screen with the following message:

    A problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

    Technical information:

    STOP: 0 X 0000005 (0XC0000005, 0X7D7FBB28, 0XF89203BC, 0XF89200B8).

    Then, when I hit F8 and went through all the options (trying to get into safe mode), the blue screen just kept coming back and the last time, he had these codes:

    STOP: 0 x 0000005 (0 x 80000003, 0X8053355E, 0XF8A553BC, OXF8A550B8).

  • After the update to Vista, the toolbar looks like Windows 98... Can not solve it

    Yesterday, I let Windows do a update before stopping and restarting.  Normally, I set up this computer to "Hibernate" and rarely close.

    After the reboot, the menu of the taskbar and start looking at is no longer as they have for years.  It's as if I installed Windows 98.  I tried to find a way to get it back to how it was, in the Panel and right on the desktop, etc, and the search for an answer on the internet.  But I am unable to get a satisfactory answer.
    Someone at - it suggestions?  Thanks in advance.

    Kayla, if you have this irritating problem, I found the answer here.  The re-booting could help to others, but he did nothing here :(   If such was the case with you, also, try this:

    The cursor somewhere on an area empty office, right click and select 'Preferences' or 'customize' and then 'theme'... and then, in this window, select "windows vista" in the options that appear after you click on the small triangle/arrow that points down.  He tells then wait you (a moment) and then, bingo, the way it was!
    Hope this helps... :)
  • After the update to Vista, a lot of my services run no more. I don't have a stupid network

    After Auto Windows vista update last night (10/10/2012), my network and audio do not work. I also disvovered that many services are stopped and cannot be started manually. I tried to do a system restore just before the update, and the problem is still there.

    The system starts every time, but the services originate as STOPPED and there is no internet, or audio connection. I can't even copy stuff from the hard drive, because whenever I click on a folder in the system takes a lot of time to react.

    In safe mode, I can copy the files very well and the player is sensitive. At the moment I'm not suspect a hardware problem.

    Maybe this related to the update of Windows or a Virius?

    Hello

    Microsoft gives sometimes you updates for the 3rd party hardware: graphics, network cards, etc.

    You should only get the latest drivers for them to real hardware manufacturer's website, as Microsoft normally does nor those have the most recent drivers available as Microsoft relies of the 3rd party hardware Manufactuer to provide.

    But unfortunately, the only way to know which is the update of the problem is to install them one by one, until you find the 'wrong' for your installation.

    You can do a system restore to get back before being installed (which is NOT the best way to remove an update) or follow this method:

    'Remove an update'

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/remove-an-update

    When you have found the issue of update of the list of updates which is presented > then right click on the update problem > select Hide update > and it will not be available to you once again

    "How to hide or show an update of Windows Vista"

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/72491-Windows-Update.html

    Here's how to chanage update settings, if you think it is necessary to:

    "Understanding Windows Update and Extras in Windows Vista and Windows 7.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/Windows-Vista-updates-and-extras/

    Or the other of these two update settings will give you the chance to see what you want to install through Windows updates;

    Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

    Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.

    But remember you normally only have problems with hardware 3rd party drivers. Other updates are to improve the Performance and security of your system

    See you soon.

  • After the updates for Vista...

    Not found wireless card, and windows Explorer opens, but does not for me to troubleshoot. The computer was released in the box, unusable.  I he resumed with rstui.exe, but can not cancel the update that causes this. Win7 option via Dell would have liked, but it was bought a few months too early.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial140.html

    Understanding Windows Update and Extras in Windows Vista at the link above.

    Remove the Vista updates; two ways to do this:

    1. a System Restore to before the updates:

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > System Restore > restore time/choose your own date > next

    If you use Norton, disable it before using the system restore.

    If it is impossible to enter the Normal Mode, do a Safe Mode system restore:

    Press F8 at the startup/power and the list of startup options, use THE ARROW key to select Safe mode > and then press ENTER.

    System restore steps according to the info above.

    Also:

    2. click on start > right click on computer > properties > Windows updates down the lower left corner > updates installed in the lower left corner in the next window

    > then click the one that you don't want > uninstall will appear at the top > uninstall it.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, on the page where you clicked "Installed updates", click on change settings at the top left corner it
    > Change update settings in the next page of AutoUpdate to "check for updates but let me choose etc" > OK ".
    When you take a look at pending updates, you can either download/install them one at the time, namely the update causing you problems.
    > or if you do not need an individual > right-click on > UAC prompt > hide it
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Then:

    Go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer/laptop > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > look for the latest Vista drivers > download/install them.

    The computer you are using now if you have an Internet connection with the other > download / save drivers > copy them into Flash Drive > transfer / install on another computer/laptop.

    See you soon.

  • After the update to Vista, welcome screen is recycled to disconnect. Starts in Mode safe mode only.

    After the last update, just slowed down, so I restarted my Dell Studio laptop. I noticed MsMpEng.exe was the biggest user of memory and still is. I lost the desktop configuration in mode without failure, as well as some sound themes, homepage, recent files, Windows security settings, etc. Internet Explorer re - starts NEW whenever it is open.  Typing jumps about. I rebooted and restored several times in Mode safe with no improvement except to return to items on the desktop. I lost all the restore points. Msconfig is the same as the previous (selective startup), without any news. I finally got Directory Services Restore Mode and disable UAC, but have still lost all my old settings and other features. Analysis of security shows no problem. I now can't change anything as the printer creation, probably because I don't have administrator privileges with UAC off the coast. Don't download FixIt. Is there something I can do? I used regedit before, but am not game to touch.

    Thank you, Dena, I restarted factory and now everything is fine. He did take 5 days to fix but. Thus, you can close this point. Thanks for your comment. Phil

  • Start the system warning message: "one of the files containing the system's registry data had to be recovered after the installation of Trend Micro 2011 anti-virus software.

    Original title: registry warning message.

    This continues a question Nov 16 initially answered by SureshI and then merged by SyedV on November 26. I followed the steps all the recommended and the problem persists. Reminder, the warning does not appear in safe mode, but it does after the running File Checker, and it does after a clean boot. I don't know what you think it should tell me.

    In the event viewer I determined that 2 system errors are occurring at the time of the application in pop - up (i.e. the warning), one of them exactly at the same time. They had to do with services that have not started. I disabled these services, no effect on the appearance of the warning. Background on the application in pop information - up suggests that it may have to with a driver that is not available. I did a driver scan and see nothing that would cause the message.

    I noticed that two application errors also occur at startup, but these come about five minutes after the application pop up, so I guess they aren't relevant.

    Anything else I can do?

    Pevinco

    Problem is now solved. The point of the error of HP Cue device detection was the key. The deactivation of the service did not help, but uninstall ALL HP software that I could find (and HP's pushy!) and then reinstalling the popup eliminated printing software.
