Unable to connect to the Dell 966 wireless printer.

Original title: unable to connect to my wireless printer

My laptop is a dell running windows vista and I have a Dell 966 printer all-in-one. I can't have printer to pick up the signal from my laptop wireless. Im not to share the printer also. All the indicators are on my laptop and printer. I also have no ip and not the gateway ip address.

Hi gus,.

Than you for your message.

"I can't printer to pick up the signal from my laptop wireless."

You use a wireless router to share your network?

"I also have no ip and not the gateway ip address."

Is - with reference to the computer or the printer?

"The question is my cell phone and my printer can not communicate. My printer does not have an IP address.

You try to get the laptop to deliver the IP address of the laptop?

I propose to move the printer closer to the network router to isolate the interference problems.

  • HP Deskjet 3050 - unable to connect to the WPA secure wireless network

    Hello

My first post here so please excuse any misstep on my part.  I bought this HP Deskjet 3050 a week ago and have since been war with it.  I would be really grateful if someone could possibly give advice on how I can solve this problem.

I am unable to connect the printer to my secure wireless network, even if the other computers, cell phones, etc. are connected without problem.  I tried WPA, WPA2 and WPA2-Mixed modes with the same failure security. Specifically, the 66% reached Connection Wizard, then displays the error that the wizard can not find/network printer.  If I disable the security, the printer connects very well.

I use a Linksys WRVS4400N router with firewall and associated firewall disabled settings.  The router broadcasts on 802. 11 g / N mixed mode.

I install the software provided on the CD for installation on a Windows XP SP3 System.  I confirmed that the PC and the printer are connected to the network are the same.

The issue as well, if you will allow me: I have not yet tried these drivers, but I see there are any updated drivers for the printer in date from 14/12/2010.  The release notes indicate the improvement of networks, but do not develop beyond that.  Does anyone know if there was a known problem with the connection to secure networks that has now been corrected?

Finally, just a note that I am partially blind and using a screen on all systems reader.  I'll try my best to be as helpful as I can to please forgive me if I can't find the settings, etc. on screen and sometimes need help for a little more detail.

Thanks in advance for your help, I really enjoyed.

    Have a nice day,

All the best for now and take care,

    Hussein.

It is not the fact that it is impossible, is the fact that this was not done, yet.

    Hello

first of all, my apologies for the delay getting back to you.  Poor health means that I had little time or want to do great thing on the side of the computer of htings.

In any case, I am please to say the problem with the HP 3050 failing to connect to my network is now resolved.  There seems to be a bug with the installer, and that seems to include the version the most recent publication Dec 2010.

To resolve this problem, I did the following:
    1. disable all security for the network options, so it's just an open network.
    2. connect the HP 3050 to the network by using the installation wizard. This time it connected OK for me.
    3. Locate the IP address of the printer.  I used the table of customer list accessed by my router interface. You may be able to get this through the printer on the menu screen, but as I am partially blind, it wasn't an option for me.
    4. Enter the control panel of the printer to http://ip.address.of.printer for example http://192.168.2.108
    5. under Advanced options, configure the network settings, including the password and the Security Protocol.  Don't forget to enter the SSID of the network exactly as it is configured on the router.
    6. apply settings, disconnect from the control panel of the printer.
7 log in the router configuration panel and re-apply the security options.  Make sure they match these match those entered for the printer.

I hope it will be useful to others in the same position.

    Thanks again for your time.

    Best,

    H.

  • PhotoSmart 6520: unable to connect to the site w / wireless

I recently had an unsolvable problem with my Photosmart 6520 involving his inabilaty to print photos.  It has now almost completely off.  I use it with my desktop (using WIN XP) and two other laptops in the House (the one with WIN 7, the other with 8)

Last week, we noticed that it's no longer access wireless.  The two laptops showed that it among their devices, but he showed in offline mode.  After being unable to reset it online, I deleted the WIN phone 7 to to see if I could find him.  He is unable to do so.  The machine to WIN 8 had no better luck.

I don't know if the two problems are related, and while I rarely print from the laptop, I'm worried that it may be symptomatic of a breakdown coming in the opposite direction.

Earlier today, he gave a paper size mismatch message when I tried to run a normal report for the main tray.  I ran diagnostics on this topic and got to resume printing, but I see the smear of ink on the edges of a few leaves.

The unit is a little less than two years.  Should I waive this subject, or is - this salvagable?

    Hello @PFR443,

I understand that, as well as a print quality problem, you are also not able to print wirelessly with your all-in-one Photosmart HP 6520. Now, I previously working with you on the following thread: Photosmart 6520 refuses to print photos and had exhausted all efforts to solving the problems with you. In the end, I had to refer you to our queue of Technical Support for the hardware support that your product has met a hardware failure, from which it cannot recover from.

Part of our troubleshooting was to run a semi Full Reset. We had done that on March 2, 2015. If you remember, this semi Full Reset resets all the settings of your printer. This includes wireless information. Therefore, the wireless feature will need to be reconfigured from scratch on your product. The printer should also be added to each computer that you use with to re-establish the wireless connection.

If you still want to attempt to reconfigure and reinstall your printer wireless, I can provide you with these steps. But your product is defective. Therefore, things will continue to act on you until you get that fix the printer or replace it with another model.

Please let me know if you want to continue troubleshooting wireless. I look forward to hear from you!

  • WRT310N V2 - unable to connect to the wired LAN, wireless is OK

I know that there are similar problems posted everywhere, but I can't seem to find the right solution. My WiFi works fine but cable did not see the router or on the internet. A few details:

I can communicate between hosts and wireless on the router.

The router assigns the IP both wired and wireless.

The wired connection works on the laptop and wireless works on it, too.

Wired does not work on the desktop, there is no wireless capability.

Cable cannot reach 196.168.1.1, wireless can.

I have updated the firmware of the router.

I installed the latest drivers for the NIC.

The office (cable) connects to the internet via cable modem, without going through the router.

I have no firewall active or other security features.

Same results with Firefox, IE, and Casimir FTP.

I turned off, turned on, rebooted, changed the ports and everything else I can think.

Here are the details of the ipconfig command:

  • HP Photosmart B110a all-in-one: unable to connect to the home network wireless HP B110

    Hello

I haven't used my printer for a while, so put in a new cartridge and tries to connect to my wireless network - domestic (the printer is next to the Belkins router). I've also upgraded to Windows 10 recently (also have a laptop with W7).

The printer detects the SSID for wifi and after you type the router password wireless (WPA - PSK), it is NOT authenticated.

The password IS CORRECT (100%) but it fails on the section of SECURITY depending on the display and the summary diagnosis. The message of the report is:

Your route wireless requires a password WPA securitg. The password configured on your HP printer does not exactly. Run the network setup wireless for re0enter your network wireless WPA security passphrase.

I need this because the only way I print is wireless email / I send it to the email address designated and it prints - it is not physically connected to any laptop / pc.

I tried several times, including inputtingthe SSID manually, swtiching OFF etc.

Please help - thank you in advance.

    Best regards

Disable and remove temporarily the password on your routers SSID. Now try to connect to your SSID unsecured. Are you successful? If Yes, go back and add WPA2-AES with a password and try again.

  • Unable to connect to the internet through hp5510 printer

    As the subject line says:

It's a printer Photosmart 5510. It prints and scans perfectly and all four laptops I installed it, the hp update downloaded software.

When I first set up the printer, I was able to access additional applications online. After about half an hour, I lost the internet connection through the printer.

I had installed using the automatic ip address selector and he gave me an address of 169.254.xxx.xxx.

I have re-configured manually with a 192.168.xxx.xxx and even if the printer was working well with the PC it still wouldn't connect with internet.

I have reset to factory settings and automatically and manually configured without success. Also, I restarted my router and changed the wireless channels.

I can not yet use the eprint service anddownload any apps.

My son tried to use a proxy, but it still wouldn't connect.

As I said... .it worked for a short time and then stopped.

Is there any solution for this?

    Thanks for any answers

    Hello

Please try to manually set the DNS addresses in the EWS page:

From your web browser, go to the EWS by typing the IP address of the printer.

    Enter the network tab.

    Click Network

Click on the network (IP) address

Under the DNS address Configuration, select manual DNS server and provide the following parameters:

    Define DNS preferred as 8.8.8.8

and the alternative e-mail address 8.8.4.4

Click on apply and try to access the Web Serives again.

If the connection still does not work, and that the configured proxy address, enter the Web Services tab.

    Click the Proxy settings.

Uncheck the option button, make sure that any field is left blank and click on apply.

    Original title: wireless Internet access

I have good network and internet connectivity when I am connected via CAT - 5 to my router/modem.  However, when I access the wireless network, I always have good connectivity and access to internet but can't send or receive emails or access Web sites.  My client browser and internet messaging turns just until it times out.  Any ideas on the cause of this problem?

    Hi Michael,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are unable to access e-mails or browse the site when you are connected using wireless network. I appreciate your time and patience to try to resolve the problem.

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?
    2. What internet browser do you use?
    3. What mail client do you use?
    4. You receive an error message?

This can occur due to missing updates, hardware or software problem on the computer.

Initially, run the network troubleshooter from the link below, go to step 3.

  • Unable to connect to the network and wireless interface does not appear in ipconfig/all on Vista32

My niece has a laptop of HP under vista32 who cannot access the network wirelessly or wired.  She is in College and needs the laptop on the network as soon as possible for his class work.  I tried to reload the driver wireless driver (Atheros AR5007 b/g) and reset the tcp/ip stack using the command netsh addressed in the microsoft article, but nothing works.

I brought the laptop to work where we have an unsecured wireless lan (called comments) for visitors and the laptop can go out and find all points of access wireless including comments.  When I select the comments and try to connect it times out and tells me to watch driver and tcp/ip connections.

Another clue may be that the wireless card does not appear when I type ' ipconfig/all', or the adapter wireless and wired adapters are not displayed:

In the case where somone has this same question, I wanted to post my final resolution of the problem. I backed up its data and restored the laptop to factory default using HP restore and now everything works fine.  Better I would say loading Zone Alarm on Vista was a bad thing for my niece to do.  Would have been nice to find a magical solution to avoid restoring but never found one.  Even after the alarm zone using their instructions by removing completely, there was apparently a problem with the registry who wouldn't let networks are working properly.  One thing I noticed after that the restoration was the HP Wireless Assistant poped up and told me about available networks, etc.  Assistant wireless didn't pop-up at all whne the cell was dismantled so maybe assistant was broken?  Well, I'm out...

  • Unable to connect to the Internet via a Linksys Wireless card

I used a Linksys BEFW11S4 for several years with no problems.  A PC is connected via a network cable and the other (Dell laptop) used a wireless adapter Linksys that plugged into the laptop (model of Linksys WPC11 ver (4).  All my computers using Windows XP with the latest service packs.

I plugged the Dell laptop to the router via a cable to transfer files faster than the network B.  Then, when I disconnected the cable and reconnected the wireless card, I was unable to use the Wi - Fi connection to connect to the internet.  Wired works very well, is not wireless.

Windows reports a good wireless connection to the router, but the machine is unable to connect to the internet using the wireless card.  It can connect to the internet when using a network cable, however.

Pings what either using the Wi - Fi connection failed (expired).

I used another laptop (a more recent Toshiba with a wireless card built-in) to connect to the router and it works very well with the connectivity wired or wireless.  No problem switching back with this machine.  So, the problem is not with the router or the router configuration.

I was through the forums and seen a LOT of people seems to have the same problem with these Wireless Linksys routers.

I tried to use the Easy Link software to configure the machine, but: (1) Linksys updated web site is not valid, and (2) with the www.linksysfix.com/ela site that directs users to the software is also invalid.  Linksys technical support seems to be lacking.

I went to the usual network setup menus and two laptops seem to be configured the same way, again, we're working wireless and we do not.

I would appreciate solutions others have tried and who has worked with this problem.

I reinstalled the drivers for the Linksys card and it does not work.  Windows recognizes the new hardware card, reports that it is connected to the router, but still no internet connection

Now, this morning, everything was fine and I connected wonderfully, but now I can't connect no settings have been changed I just stop and start as usual. I used configfree and it shows the network but if I try to connect it says unable to connect to the network. I have Win7 home basic OS.

I uninstalled the wireless network card and reinstalled, updated the drivers but nothing works, I still get the same error.

Can someone help will appreciate it greatly!

    Hello

Are you able to connect to open WLan?
I mean you can try to disable security options in your Fritzbox and might test whether you are able to connect without the WEP, WPA or other safety standards.
Of course, you should only done for testing purposes

If this box works, then it means that the security of your router settings were not consistent with the settings of the Wlan card.
