Unable to connect to the internet via the wireless HP Pavilion DV2120us

Recently, I did a new install of XP and updated all my drivers. It took me awhile, but I was able to correctly update all the drivers in Device Manager so that there are no more yellow question marks. But now I can't connect to wireless internet. I don't know if I need to install something that I did not already.

H, Shannon:

This is not good news...

Your series of templates had motherboard problems and one of the problems is that the card mother overheating demolishes the video and takes the mini-PCIe port that feeds the wireless card.

Unable to connect to the network wireless Toshiba Satellite A105 PC running Windows 7.  "Windows could not finish repairing the problem because it is impossible to perform the following action. Renewal of your IP address.  Works with Windows XP SP2, IE 8.00.6001.18702 file, I think that Version 3.  It has been installed on a disk provided by Microsoft after that old installation became corrupt (in the sense of Microsoft technical support.)  Before that, wireless network worked well.   (So unable to connect to the Internet for updates.)   Have tried to change the other settings and different messages acquired when it SHOWS that I am connected but cannot connect because of something to do with the certificate.  I don't remember what I did to try to solve this problem in the last days.

  • Satellite C660-1NJ - unable to connect to the wireless network

    Hi guys

    I got a 1nj c660 and I have a wireless connection to a Fritzbox 7170.

Now, this morning, everything was fine and I connected wonderfully, but now I can't connect no settings have been changed I just stop and start as usual. I used configfree and it shows the network but if I try to connect it says unable to connect to the network. I have Win7 home basic OS.

I uninstalled the wireless network card and reinstalled, updated the drivers but nothing works, I still get the same error.

Can someone help will appreciate it greatly!

    Hello

Are you able to connect to open WLan?
I mean you can try to disable security options in your Fritzbox and might test whether you are able to connect without the WEP, WPA or other safety standards.
Of course, you should only done for testing purposes

If this box works, then it means that the security of your router settings were not consistent with the settings of the Wlan card.

  • C309g-m - unable to connect to the wireless network, touchpad hangs

    Hello.

As PrintDoc has suggested, it's a new thread in the suite here, where I jumped in with a diversion to the station 23.  I'm sorry.

    Here are the details:

    (1) system:

Router is Thomson TG585n provided by ISP O2/Telefonica.  Download high speed ADSL to ~ 9Mbps.

    3 devices connected and stable:

-L' computer running XPSP3, connects to the router via homeplug (Ethernet on electrical wiring).

-Laptop running Vista Home Premium, connects wirelessly with WPA2-AES.

-Mobile phone runs Symbian 60, connect wirelessly in the same way.

Router is configured to operate on channel 11 g wireless and accept new devices automatically with the appropriate security password.

It is a House of 3 floors - router on the top floor has always worked. computer bureau on a middle floor with printer; laptop and the phone can be anywhere.

    So far so good.

Now, I want to add the wireless printer and I'm really bad.

    (2) summary of symptoms:

I bought the C309g-m on Amazon UK in January 2010.  USB connection with assistant easily.  Migrated to wireless via the front panel.  Easy. Then tried to add a 500 GB Freecom Network Drive (NAS device connected to the router) and has failed, because I didn't RTFM.  After removing the FND, I get an error message of HP to the effect that I have "tried to set the printer's IP address" and lost the connection to the printer wireless.  Have not seen this message since then, so I can't reproduce.

As I said, I removed the FND, who never appeared on the network in any way.  However I still can't connect to the printer wirelessly.  The wireless connection wizard crashes after asking to specify a password.  The wireless network Test report that the radio works, but shows FAIL the entrance of 'No filter '.  I looked into the console of the router and there is nowhere to set the MAC address filtering, so I'm stumped.

I tried to 'Add a device' CD, for network via USB settings.  It takes forever (30 minutes?) to come up with the same error "MAC address filtering.

One last thing: if I leave radio turned on (the default lighting) will lock the touchpad after a few minutes to the home screen.  If I disable it, it's fine.  Once locked, the only way to stop is to unplug the power supply.

Finally - all the base printer functions very well.  I can print and scan through the USB port and can take copies.

    Thoughts:

    (a) I think my router settings can be screwed.  I don't see a way to set limits to the DHCP pool, I should be able to.  However, since I was 3 devices that connect to the Internet I am reluctant to do a factory reset in case I lose those!

    (b) there's something wrong with the printer - but I don't know what.

    c) I could try temporarily move the printer to the i) door ii) within reach of hardwirable of CAT5 and wireless range

    (d) the fact that I can connect the printer (wireless) or DNF (cable) makes me suspect the router.  However, I have not received any support from O2: they said it was an internal problem of LAN/WLAN and nothing to do with broadband, therefore, were not willing to help.

I spent hours on this and get nowhere.  Help, please!

    Tim.

BTW - I'm in the United Kingdom.

Well, I think that there are many more problems with 'atypical' routers and HP software as there are with HP printers.  I see not nearly as many problems with certified brand routers WiFi (like Linksys, Netgear and D-Link), as I do with large brands and Belkin.

The worst offenders are rented modems/routers that your ISP provides.  For some reason, they have a lot of industrial property settings and firmware that simply don't play well with HP printers (may be others, but I would never buy another printer HP - I know way to much about printers after their design for 25 years).

A reliable and good solution cheap is to go buy a $40 or $50 Linksys router and replace stuff not expensive you have (or paste according to your router/modem rented).   Time and time again, I've seen problems disappear just after installing a standard router.

You can reserve an IP address for a wired connection, but because parts wired and wireless to the printer have separate MAC addresses, this IP address is not available for the wired connection.

Read the thread if you wish.  Discover the solutions on this website if you want to, but I still think you have a defective printer.

When I bought it I was told that it was active wireless.

    Can anyone help?

    Hello!

Have you checked if the hardware switch wireless on the front of the laptop is on?

    You have yellow exclamation points?
    The wireless adapter is recognized?

Maybe you should also update the driver and/or BIOS.

  • Satellite Pro L650 - unable to connect to the wireless network

    Dear Sir.

I just bought a SatPro L650 (Intel i5) with welcome window 7 2 weeks and struggled to connect to internet. Each time it gives me the 'Network security Key Mismatch' message. I used the WPA/WEP key found under my Thompson router. Despite the advice to use Cap Lock still does not work. When I connect the router using the (yellow) Ethernet cable for the new laptop, I have no problem with the evaluation of the internet.

I desperately need help and hope somebody can advice me how to overcome this problem in secular terms step by step (sorry I'm not a savy TI). Or is there a setting that I need to do on both the new laptop, as well as on my desktop (connected to the router).

    Appreciate your advice.

    See you soon,.
    John

    Hey Buddy,

    > "Incompatibility of network security key.
This would mean the WLAN network isn t correct key.

If the key on the bottom side of your router doesn t work it seems that you have changed the WLAN key in the past
In the configuration of the router, you can change the WLAN key and set a new one.

    Check this box!

By the way: If you can access the Internet through an Ethernet cable, configuration of the router to ISP (Internet Service Provider) is correct and that the problem must be the WLAN configuration.

    Hey,.

The wireless network adapter is listed correctly in the Device Manager? It is maybe just disabled, and you can enable/disable using FN + F9 key combination.

You should write more details not connection might mean everything, so first of all, that you should check if the wireless network adapter is recognized and activated correctly.

  • Unable to connect to the wireless network without help

2 month old laptop dv7-3162 and it has now stopped working in terms of connection to the Internet wireless. The other computers in the House connect correctly (wireless). So I know for a fact that this isn't a thing of router (my router AND the motem is an all in one device). Now, IV ' e updated my drivers for the latest drivers (only the atheros adapter wireless if it matters) and nothing to fixxed the question. He sees wireless networks, that he just does not connect to them. IV ' e reset and power cycled motem/router several times without success. A ran a windows update and several reboots.

    Thanks in advance

He worked, all you have to do is go in the device management and wireless network card driver, disable, restart, let it reinstall, and it should work. It did in my case.

I recently reinstalled Windows Vista on my Dell Studio 1535. I put everything back on and I went to connect to my internet connection, and in the box "Connect to a network", he says "Windows cannot find any network." So I clicked on diagnose why Windows cannot find any network, and he tells me "this computer does not have an installed and configured wireless network card.

I don't know what to do. I have a cd you put in after having reinstalled Vista for my laptop and it say the PILOTS AND of UTILITIES. When I set and run the cd, it brings up a bunch of stuff I don't know what to do.

Please I really need help with that. If you need to know any information on the CD or my computer, I will gladly answer.

    Thank you.

Install the drivers on the CD, or contact Dell as to what you need to install from the CD:

3 problem with access point or wireless adapter

I think it's an effects of virus or something?  Because yesterday it works really well. How can I fix? Thank you very much

    Hello Hildegard Lydia,

You may experience this problem for a number of reasons. Some common problems that can cause these problems are: drivers damaged or incompatible, updates missing, network connection settings, hardware problems or software or TCP/IP can sometimes be damaged or corrupted.

What is the brand and model of your computer?

Please follow the steps mentioned below:

Method 1: a component of the Internet connection on your computer is a package of instructions called TCP/IP. TCP/IP can sometimes become damaged or altered. If you can't connect to the Internet and you have tried all other methods to solve the problem, TCP/IP can be causing it.
I suggest you try to reset the TCP/IP stack.

    Method 2:

You can follow the steps below to check the NIC in Device Manager. I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the NIC drivers and check:

    a. click Startand then click Control Panel.

    b. click system and Maintenance, click Systemand then click on Device Manager.
Note If Control Panel is in Classic view, double-click System, and then click Device Manager.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctly

    Method 3:

You can also temporarily disable the security software and check.

    Reference:

    Disable the anti-virus software
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

    Firewall: Frequently asked questions
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/firewall-frequently-asked-questions

    Caution:
Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    I hope this helps.

  • Satellite L300 - unable to connect to the wireless network

I have a NETGEAR router and a Toshiba Satellite L300 laptop HP DV2000.

The HP can connect to my wireless network and also my neighbors network next door (which is not secure)
However, the L300 can only connect to the network of my nextdoor neighbour even if it can 'see' the NETGEAR network.

I changed the security from WPA to WEP up to now no security at all, and it seems not to matter.
The strange thing is that my L300 CAN connect to a wireless network, but not mine!

And my wireless network works as I can connect from my HP laptop.
On the L300 it shows 5 bars on the NETGEAR is not a problem of weak signal.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Try changing the WLAN settings on your router. Compare the WLAN settings on the settings of your laptop and the router.

Test it with standard B on both devices.
I mean if your laptop can see neighbours WLAN card wireless network in the laptop must be OK.
I really thing all is due to wrong WLAN settings.

Play around with that sort of thing.

HM, you will need to do some research! What was the last you´ve installed applications? Installed new drivers/tools/software on your computer?
If not you already installed the latest drivers for the chip wireless for your laptop? If not already done, then try it and Don t forget to update BIOS. :)

If anything brought success then just to give a few comments. :)
