Unable to connect to the NAS network via a wired connection?

Hi all

I have 2 network NAS. They are both a Bay D-Link ShareCenter 2. One is full of media I use for streaming and the other is used to keep backups of my computers and some software. Both of the NAS are configured in RAID mirror. They both worked fine when I got them almost a year ago, they are mapped to letters pilot Y and Z. 2 days when I logged my office a popup notification came to say.
"cannot reconnect to all network drives, click here to check the status of your network drives."
so I checked it status and he said they were offline. I restarted my computer and both the NAS, but it made no difference. Then I tried to disconnect the drives, but when I try to reconnect to them I get this error;
"Windows cannot access \\192.168.0.32\Volume_1\Joe, check the spelling of the name. Otherwise, there could be a problem with your network. In an attempt to identify and solve network problems, click on diagnose. »
When I click to diagnose it is unable to find a default.
The next thing I did was disable my Ethernet card and connect to my network with my WiFi adapter. Then I tried to re - map the NAS is connected via the wireless. This time he allowed me to map them and they seem to work as usual via the wireless connection, but it is rather slow on the wireless.
Then I disconnected my WiFi connection and reactivated my Ethernet card. When I tried to open the NAS I get this error message;

"An error occurred while reconnecting Z: to \\192.168.0.32\Volume_1\Joe, Microsoft Windows network: the local device name is already in use." This connection has not been restored. »

A friend told me that this error was because the drive letter is used by a USB storage device or remembered from a previous session, and to remedy, I should run these 2 commands CMD;
NET use * / Delete Yes
NET use / persistent: no
After you run the two orders, nothing has been changed still the same problem. I also I have no USB storage device so it may be that.
The next thing I tried was to ping both the NAS, I did this on Ethernet and WiFi connections, and both times I return a normal response both to the NAS.
I defrosted then to restore an image from my Office I made around a week ago and I know that I don't have this problem at the time. The image I did was with Acronis. When I started on the CD of Acronis support, I discovered that Acronis software could connect both the NAS on my desktop Ethernet. After restoring I still have the same problem.
Now, there's 1 thing I noticed, my laptop can still connect to both WiFi and Ethernet NAS with all the problems. I also have an android phone, and who can connect both of the NAS via a WiFi connection.
1 last thing you to know is I can always get to the configuration of the NAS so pages I visit it local address in a web browser. I also ran a factory reset both the NAS and then re-applied my own settings. This does not solve the problem, and more that turning March my routers.
Please can someone help me solve this problem. I'm running a Windows 8 Pro 64 Bit operating system. If you need more information on my system spec or how I have my setup of home network please let me know.
Thank you Joe.

This problem has now been fixed.

For some reason any my AVG firewall had defrosted on its own to block access to the features as well as to define its self to disable the file and printer sharing of files on the NAS share.
So a small trick to my firewall and everything works as it should.
Thank you Joe.

  • Add WRT54G: second router / access point, unable to get to the outside network.

    Here is the prob:

We just got cable internet the other day and the cable operator insisted on using their v1000 Belkin F5D7234-4 instead of my WRT54G V8. So I thought I'd use the WRT54G as a second router/AP (without wireless/LAN/WAN). I was eager to do this by running an ethernet in the WAN on the WRT54G port and plug it into the port of the client on the Belkin, place the wrt - 54 G at the other end of the House and have the WRT54G broadcasting the same SSID and require authentication even as the Belkin and use the Belkin to Linksys Wireless Bridge. In this way, it will extend my wireless network and all computers can access the internet and the other (wireline customers will keep at wire-speed, wireless is not authicate to two different networks.)

I can't get the Linksys network based able to see all the other computers outside the WRT - 54 G, even for wireless clients. On the side of things Belkin network, I can't ping the router even if she pulls a DHCP in the Belkin address. All customers the Belkin side can meet and thin internet. I've fiddled with the WRT54-g for almost an entire weekend now with no result. The WRT54G can see the other router as a DNS as well as external DNS providers, but none of the client computers can. Basically, I'm wanting to extend the network of Belkin 4 as most cable customers and fill a few dead wireless, and make the visible computer on the same network of suggestions?

    Parameters of WRT - 54G:

    Automatic configuration - DHCP

    Same domain name like Belkin
IP router set a tire to the DHCP server

    DHCPserver OFF

    Mode of operation: router

    Safe are disabled.

Wireless SSID is the same as Belkin

Wireless channel is the same as belkin.

Method and auth. key is the same as belkin.

    Belkin:

    DHCP is on.

    15 IP addresses available.

Wireless gateway is on with the WRT54G Wireless MAC address information.

    Ethernet cords are connected.

I played with static routes for hours, tried the option routing dynamic, even tried DMZing of the WRT54G intellectual property in the belkin and still unable to connect to the internet. Tried the Belkin MAC address cloning. Nothing seems to work. When I plug the WRT - 54G directly in my digital/Modem/phone cable box, I get internet and everything. I'm at the point of throwing same DD - WRT on it.

But beyond connection "wireless" I discovered really does not work if well (drops random wireless speeds seize up) with two different pieces of equipment running two different firmwares. So the thing connecting wireless set was out the window.

I however knew what I had to do Linksys firmware:

    1.) DHCP clients forward.

    Customers of Belkin - network

    Linksys customers - network B

The dhcp pool was not get transferred to the client computers. That is the 1-2 on network computer had XXX. XXX.100 - 102 for 3-4 computers on network B was YYY. YYY. YYY statically set by Windows. Even after changing to a static address on the network A dhcp scope I could still connect to the internet or to one of the computers on the network.

The static routing table seemed not lead me anywhere either, and I've tried dozens of configurations.

The way I got it Setup is with the customer enthernet of the Belkin ROUTER to THE Internet on the Linksys WRT54G port 1-4. Maybe I should have plugged the ethernet on the client side of 4 ports Linksys?

Anyway DD - WRT redirect DCHP feature was what I need.

Regarding the scenario wireless two routers have the same encryption method and key but different channels and ssid. Who, with DD - WRT for some reason when I jump on the wireless-B, Vista will be ID it as network A (B).

I hope that it has not violated anything except the guarantee which was anyway. The reason for which I needed for my network up this way is because I do a lot of work using VM (of various operating systems), is simply easier to have two separate semi networks. (to different physical locations in the House)

  • Possible to the J4550 network via USB

I have a HP J4550 all a printer.  I had been using it on my network via an old desk that I used as a print server.  This office has essentially become an anchor and I would like to get rid of the desktop but continue to use the printer on my network.  I know it isn't wireless, but is it possible to connect the printer directly to my Verizon Actiontec router via the USB connection?  I don't know if it can work without a directly connected print server...  Only, I have a laptop and run it completely wireless.

Is it possible to put something in place or should I buy a new printer specific to my needs...

    I am running windows 7.

Hello! Welcome to the @Damorr00 forums.

Officejet J4550 is a printer connected by USB only. You only have the ability to plug a USB from the printer directly to your computer. Unfortunately the router USB connection does not work as it is not the game of good upward. More printers to date are usually wireless and may be an option for you.

I hope that move upward any concerns, a wonderful day

    Hello KarthikBN,

You're other computers can connect to the Ad Hoc network you create on your primary computer?
The connection works on your phone before, or is this the first time you are setting this up?
If the computer detects the network but your phone is not, it is perhaps a question for Nokia:
  • I can only connect to the network via a wired connection. Wireless does not connect.

Wireless does not work but internet will work when plugged into router direstly

Not exactly what OS you use so here are some links to help you get started. If you need assistance with any of these steps please let me know. Thank you.

  • Need help to access the internal network via VPN on ASA5505 8.4 (1)

Recently, I upgraded my ASA5055 from 8.02 to 8.4 and since I have updated to the new version I can access my home network is no longer through the VPN. I can connect to the VPN with no problems however I can no longer ping or you connect to my network of 10.0. Someone would be kind enough to look at my config and tell me what needs to be added to make it work? In my old config, I had a statement of NAT for VPN that is no longer here.

I also wanted to configure WebVPN to work as well, and this is something that I've never been able to understand. Is it also possible that I can be on my 20.0 network and connect to the VPN and access 10.0 as well? When it is connected to my network of 20.0 I'm not received credentials to connect to the VPN. I would be grateful if someone can help out me. The major part of this is the first part of this question.

A host that has worked very well to a previous 5.5 build fails to reconnect to the vcenter after reboot once upgraded to build the 2456374. This also happens to the newly built guest. When a reconnection is started manually, it produces up to 80% (data of the host processing), then dies with a "general system error: internal error. I tried to remove the vpxa account, resetting the config network via the console, Cup NIC of the vswitch, removal of additional interfaces vkernel. The network via the console configuration reset allows me to reconfigure the net and tie vcenter and complete the host host configuration. However, as soon as I restart the host, is no longer, it reconnects to vcenter and I'm back where I started.

Unfortunately, this is not a 100% event. If I rebuild a host enough times, one of the new buildings will finally works correctly.

any ideas on how to solve this problem would be appreciated.

    QUESTION REOLVED!

Ok. so that was the easy part. Open a folder with vmware to identify the cause for this. After much digging, friction, pull hair, we found a clue in the hostd.log on the ESXi host.

2015-04 - T 02, 04: 49:05.481Z [23381 B 70 error 'Hostsvc.NetworkProvider' user opID=HB-host-185064@917-1d029f4d-d2 = vpxuser] an error occurred during extraction of stack instance configuration: incompatible value of ccalgo for the Netstack instance: defaultTcpipStack.

In my network performance test I did recently, I have significantly improved network iSCSI performance from the cubes NewReno network congestion control algorithm. For each of these hosts, as part of the installation procedure I now set the control algorithm of congestion on cube through the web interface. Finally, it is a little bug with that VMware believed fixed. Is not.

To confirm doubling you encounter this problem, connect to the host (ssh or remote cli) and run the following command:

list of esxcli ip network netstack

You should get a message saying that there is an inconsistency in the netstack configuration.

To fix, run the following command:

esxcli network ip put netstack defaultTcpipStack cubic n - c

the netstack from above list command should now display detailed information and will now be able to connect to vcenter.

If I understand correctly, an article will be published on this in the near future.

  • The challenges network - welcomed the ideas

    Hello

I have an Officejet 7410 currently connected by usb to my office main office running Windows 7 - everything revolves slowly.

My first challenge is to add the ability to print for a laptop I take London - based Vista already has a connection to the home network via a Netgear DG834GT router WEP wireless.

The second challenge is to add the ability to print to a wireless XP Pro based family office that already has a connection to the home network via a Netgear DG834GT router WEP wireless.

It is best to stick with USB or should I consider ethernet or wireless for the main office for printer?  I don't want to lose a maximum functionality or speed on the main office.

Once the primary connection method is decided - what is simplest to add printing function of the laptop wireless and wireless family office and do a full install or just basic printing?

Any ideas would be most welcome.

When you're ready to do this, here's the easiest way:

    1. connect the printer to your router.

    a. If by Ethernet, just plug in the back of your router (unplug the USB to avoid confusion on this PC).

    b. If the wireless, change to WPA, then on the control panel of the printer: configuration > network > wireless Assistant.  Follow the directions.

    2. Yes, there are several software of their choice.  For each operating system that you choose here, click the driver, then locate the "Full Featured" software package, download and install it.  Install the software on each PC, choose "network" or "Network" when asked.  He will find the printer (because it is already connected to your network) and install the software.

That's all!  Oh, and it won't be necessary to use a USB key.  The network can handle you want to print from any PC, or wireless.

Unable to connect the Apple TV (2nd generation) with the network via Wi - Fi using the remote app!

The remote application required the devices to be on the same network, and home sharing enabled on Apple TV. The physical remote control would be necessary for the installation if this has not been done already

    Hello

Do you have any software installed on your computer network monitoring?

Monitor mode, or RFMON (Radio frequency monitor), allows a computer with a NIC (NIC) to monitor all traffic received from the wireless network. Unlike promiscuous mode, which is also used for packet sniffing, monitor mode allows packets to capture without having to associate with a network access point or ad - hoc first. Surveillance mode applies only to wireless networks, while "Promiscuous" mode can be used on cable networks and wireless. Surveillance mode is one of the six modes of 802.11 wireless cards can function in: Master (acting as an access point), Managed (client, also known as station), Ad - hoc mode, mesh, Repeater, and monitor.

    Limits

Usually, the wireless adapter is unable to transmit in monitor mode and is limited to a single wireless channel, if it depends on the driver of the wireless card, its firmware and features of all of his chip. In addition, in monitor mode, the adapter does not check to see if the control of cyclic redundancy check (CRC) are correct for packets captured, then some captured packets is maybe damaged.

If a network monitoring program is running on your computer, the wireless network adapter will be set to follow the fashion, which prevents Windows to connect to wireless networks.

To connect to a wireless network, close the network monitoring program, or follow the instructions in the program to exit the monitor mode.

  • Re: Satellite L300D - unable to connect via WiFi network

Any help please? -I just L300D with Vista professional.
Crossed troubleshooting but still unable to connect via the wireless network - no probs with other laptops.

When going through "Toshiba assist" message arrives "this wireless network device is disabled.

Please activate the device"- button wireless is activated with light yellow?

    any ideas?

Are you sure that the laptop wireless switch is on?
Look in the Device Manager. Maybe it's the wireless network card disabled. So activate it.

Also try an update of the WLAN driver. You can find it on the Toshiba site:

  • XT720: Unable to connect to the network for upgrades

    Hello

I recently had a new Motorola Milestone XT720. I tried to get the software updates using the "connection to phone" functionality system updates. If I connect my phone via the network or via WiFI, I get this message "the device is unable to connect to the server, please try again later"

How can this problem be solved?

How to get the system through files zip for Android updates?

    Kindly let me know.

It is not uncommon to get this message when checking for OTA updates - update servers seem to be pretty random that they are actually on and accessible, or not.

Your best bet for checking updates is to use the Motorola (MSU) software update. Search on a site of Motorola to find. It is a windows program that will check updates for your phone. More updates appear here before OTA (if they are already on OTA)

  • Satellite Pro 6100: unable to connect to internet via wireless network

Have had some problems with the audio device Yamaha for another thread, which now seems to be resolved. Thank you!

However, do not know why, but now unable to connect to the internet via a wireless network, although the router works well as another computer in the House is connected wireless.

When you check the available wireless networks it comes up with "no wireless networks were found in range, make sure that your computer's wireless switch is on.
Where to check it, can anyone help?

    Thank you

On the left side, there is WLAN switch. Make sure that the switch is in on IT. After doing this using FN + F8 key combination and activate WLAN device.

After having done that, you should be able to see the WLAN networks available in your area.

I tried to use the other pc and smartphones to connect to my network of your choice via wifi and they connect successfully and I can use wireless net in other devices!

    Hello @Khaled-819.

    Thank you for your query,

I understand that you are unable to connect to your wireless network, but other devices connect correctly.

Have you ran the Windows troubleshooting tool?

Did you run the Internet functionality and security in HP Support Assistant ?

Here is a link to HP PC - troubleshooting wireless network and Internet (Windows 8) that should help you.

If you are unable to connect I would test for a hardware failure.  You will locate network under the title of part.
