Unable to connect to the network "\\localmachine\sharedname" share
I use VMware vCenter Converter Standalone client, v5.0.0 build-470252, running on a 64-bit Windows 7 computer, try to import a Windows 2008 computer virtual (hosted by VMWare infrastructure) on my local machine.
At the start of the converter, I have "connecting to a local server.
Specification of the source system is OK, even if I don't know the certificate error. The conversion wizard installs his agent and it connects OK.
To the Destination System, I said:
Type of destination: VMware Workstation or other virtual machines to VMware
Product VMware: VMware Workstation 8.0.x
Information on the virtual machine:
Name: same as the source system, such as detected by the converter
Location for the virtual machine: \\localmachine\sharedfoldername
Username and password: my Windows 7 credentials, with full control over \\localmachine\sharedfoldername, the action and the underlying folder.
"When the converter checks the destination settings, it is reported: unable to connect to the network"\\localmachine\sharedfoldername"share
So far the measures of investigation:
-Connection to the share through Windows Explorer works fine; It is possible to write to the share
-J' tried specifying the share as '\\localhost\sharedfoldername', but get "the share specified network 'localhost\sharedfoldername' does not exist." It was a bit of a long shot, I guess, but the form does not work in Windows Explorer.
-Have you tried with the file and print sharing both power - on and off seemed worth a try after looking at other posts on this forum
The help says 'If you are connected to a local Converter Standalone Server, providing a network path or a local path to the destination directory'. I tried the local path "C:\Virtual Machines\sharedfoldername", but got the message "error: specified as a (local) drive Destination.» "Please specify a UNC path such as: \\machine\sharename.
Aid also States "You have not to provide user credentials if the location is on the local storage of the machine where Converter Standalone server running." However, the next button is always disabled until credentials are provided.
Can anyone help please?
You must be able to access the \\localmachine\sharedname of the * SOURCE * machine. The job of conversions P2V of Windows is to install an agent on the source, then the agent connects to the target (this is why it must be on a network share) and transfers the data. You can browse \\localmachine\sharedname of the source (but not where the converter is installed)?

No network adapter driver is available after reinstalling Windows Vista installation disk... Unable to connect to the network
Hello
Know what type of network card you have and download the drivers of its supplier.
It doesn't matter what it is always a good idea before re-install/upgrade to log on to the computer support page, download independent drivers from there and put them on a flash drive.

XT720: Unable to connect to the network for upgrades
Hello
I recently had a new Motorola Milestone XT720. I tried to get the software updates using the "connection to phone" functionality system updates. If I connect my phone via the network or via WiFI, I get this message "the device is unable to connect to the server, please try again later"
How can this problem be solved?
How to get the system through files zip for Android updates?
Kindly let me know.
It is not uncommon to get this message when checking for OTA updates - update servers seem to be pretty random that they are actually on and accessible, or not.
Your best bet for checking updates is to use the Motorola (MSU) software update. Search on a site of Motorola to find. It is a windows program that will check updates for your phone. More updates appear here before OTA (if they are already on OTA)

The main computer in my house is connected to the web via a modem to our ISP (Cox). We use a Cisco's Linksys wireless router. We have configured a new laptop to connect through the router yesterday. Now my laptop, which had been the connection very well, can't access the network. When I go in the "network and sharing Center" and pull up nearby wireless networks, our network shows is even more bars, just a red X. Reads the error message "unable to connect to this network because the settings of that computer to match the parameters required network.»
I don't know what has changed on our network, but I was unable to understand what these "required parameters" are, so I was unable to change the settings of my laptop to match the requirements. Pls help.
Hi Sharpdale,
Step 1
I first suggest you to perform network troubleshooting in Windows 7 and check if it finds problems, and if he is able to fix it.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/using-the-network-troubleshooter-in-Windows-7
Step 2
Use Windows to configure wireless settings and check if it helps to solve the problem.
a. click on Start menu and select run
b. type ncpa.cpl, and then click OK to open the menu of the network connections.
c. Select your Wi - Fi connection service and choose the option change settings of this connection.
d. go to the wireless tab and select (tick) labeled use Windows to configure my wireless network
I hope this helps. Let us know the results.
Thank you and best regards,

Satellite L40: Windows Vista unable to connect to the network
My Satellite L40 laptop was connecting to my network wireless perfectly since Christmas. But two days ago, it stopped! Hello
Please go to the drivers Toshiba download page and download the latest Wlan driver for your wireless card installed, then remove the old driver and install a new one. It should work.
Otherwise, you should try to recover your entire system and replace the drivers installed by some more recent...

Dynadock U3.0 - unable to connect to the network
I have a U3.0 Dynadock and when you try to connect to the network at work via a network cable, the parameters were not detected automatically.
I then put manual details (IP), but this did not fix the problem.I assigned by DHCP the Dynadock should get a certain IP address.
I still have a problem. In addition, when left on DHCP, subnet mask is 255.255.0.0 which is weird.
Has anyone else had trouble linking their Dynadock to their network?
I use a laptop another progress, running Windows 7, 64 bit.
I found a solution.
update to the latest version of the software available at toshiba for the dynadock solves this problem.
software provided with the hardware is V6.1
to solve the problem, it is necessary to download the toshiba support website V6.2.
Also note, that windows 7 doesn't automatically recognize that this software update is available.

Hello:
First install the chipset driver and reboot (will install the SM Bus controller).
Second: Install the AMD graphics driver and restart.
For switchable graphics in your notebook, you install only the driver AMD, which installs the drivers for the AMD and Intel for the graphical configuration has your laptop. NEVER install the Intel driver only or allow updates to the Intel graphics driver to install.
Third: Install the audio driver and reboot.
Now, the rest of the devices can be installed...

I've recently updated to Windows 10 with my laptop (from Windows 8) and remember, Windows 8 was working fine but now that I've updated for Windows 10, I can't connect to my home network.
When I turn on my laptop, it is not automatically connect to my network and when I try to connect from the network settings, I get an error "Could not connect to this network" and I have to wait at least 30 minutes before it automatically logs. After waiting that it works, but my laptop goes to sleep or goes inactive for awhile, it disconnects again and I have to wait
I connected via hotspot and it worked fine, but all of my other computers laptops HP connects very well and they are 10 Windows as well. Only this laptop is upward, so I guess it's a problem with a new driver.Hello:
The only suggestion I can offer would be to install the latest driver for the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 adapter - 802.11 and see if that helps any.
The 2nd driver on the list is W10 x 64.

I use Lenovo cordless tools to connect to find and connect to wireless networks.

Unable to connect to the network in an OS Win 7 comments when the cable disconnected
Hello
I have a Win7 x 64 host with Workstation 7.0 executes 2 guests - is also a Win 7 x 64 and the other is a Win 2003 R2 x 86. Both work quite well when I have a cable plugged into the host network, but when I unplug it, the Win 2003 comments always connects to the network local vm end (for example I can ping the host and I have a correct IP address with ipconfig) while the prompt of Win 7 says "unidentified network".
I have something special for the networking of comments (or even the host by the way) and that the guest Win2003 worked 'out of the box"that makes me think that the Win7 to work also with some small configuration changes somewhere - someone can help point me in the right direction?
See you soon
Dan
If both are NAT, both should have the Internet connection if you have removed the cable, because NAT virtual network connects to each host TCP/IP stack.
Are you sure? It really sounds like a bridge and the other is NAT. If you unplug the cable from the network status of the guests should not change. If in doubt, post the two guests .vmx files.

Unable to connect to the network, Inspiron 6400, Win XP Pro
Hello. I have a laptop Inspiron 6400 with Windows XP Pro and cannot connect to the local network and thus to internet. The problem appeared after I took the laptop with me on a trip. I don't know if I hit it too or maybe changed a setting that I should not have. The only relevant thing I can remember is that I tried to connect to a wireless network, but totally failed. So now I'm back home and cannot connect to my network (not wireless), even if the icon on the computer says that it is connected to the network and works fine, then the function 'fix' there was no help. Other computers connected to the same router doesn't have the same problem. The laptop is not reachable from the other computer, and vice versa.
Here is the ipconfig information:
