Unable to connect to the outgoing SMTP server.

I have two computers that I send and receive my email.  The two computer email settings are identical and have never been altered or tampered with.  Recently my desktop computer now will not send e-mail.  He receives by e-mail very well.  I have full internet access and no further questions of the functioning of any software or hardware on this computer.  Yet, it does not connect to servier the smtp Protocol to send outgoing emails.  I checked and double checked all the settings and configurations of installation as dictated by MSN for email.  All the settings are the same on both computers.  Both computers use Windows XP.  Both computers connect to the internet via a LAN connection.  Since all settings are the same on both computers and my desktop computer is the only one who will not send, what in the world could be the problem and how can I fix this problem?  Microsoft doesn't seem to be of any help at this point.

I just want to check that I understand the installation program.  You have two computers to check your email.  Is your office and it doesn't send email more.  If this is correct, then it seems that if your outgoing mail server port is blocked in your office.  If you are able to check with your IT Department, they should be able to tell if something could block the port leaving 995.
Or if you have installed a firewall program, it could be blocking that as well.  If you need to make sure that you will allow access to the program of electronic mail within the firewall program.

  • When you set the outgoing SMTP server, why not specifying the SMTP server 'by' is not working, but only the first specified server?

    I have several options for the outgoing SMTP server. I put a default and attempt to send. It fails and uses the first condition in the list.

    I restart Thunderbird and try to send. It uses the first condition in the list.

    I eliminated all SMTP servers in the list but the one I want, and it works.

    What escapes me, that I have observed this problem on all my systems for a long time?

    your lack of anything that account having a SMTP server associated with them, which, if your 'in' an account more wrinkles 'default '.

    Right click on a folder in account, and then select settings.
    Click on the account name in the settings and on the right is a drop down list and the value 'default' smtp for this account.

    Troubleshooting steps I went through far

    • I restarted my mac a few times
    • I did some research on Google and messages more speak of iworm, fortunately I could find no trace of an infection by the worm, I scanned my machine using Sphos and ClamXav and haven't found anything relating to iWorm.     • I can ping swscan.apple.com and she is resolved to 17.164.1.22 which is the same IP that also resolves the mac next to me (which gets the update)
    • I cannot telnet on port 443 to swscan.apple.com and it connects.
    • I have a mac in yosemite next to me who can see the updates so I suspect that doesn't pose any problems with the service itself rather something on why machine.
    • I started in safe mode, and while in safe mode, I get the same error.

    I am at a complete loss what to do next short of wiping and restore from a time machine backup, can anyone help please

    You can try to disable the Sophos websheild and ClamXav if she has one. Even better would be to uninstall both and test.

    FWIW, it is never a good idea to have 2 av programs installed.

    Unable to connect to the web services server.  It is a common error that you might see if you try to enable web services.  If you receive this message, try the following steps.

    For Officejet printers

    1. open the internet browser type printer IP address.

    2 should bring you to the status of the printer page.

    3. Select the tab network at the top.

    4. left side select IPv4 under wireless.

    5. under DNS address Configuration select manual DNS server.

    6. for favorite enter 8.8.8.8

    7. for alternate enter 8.8.4.4

    8. Select apply. You can get a warning saying that this could break the connection which is very good.

    9. turn the printer off for about 30 seconds and then try to enable web services.

    For Photosmart printers

    1. Enter the printer's IP address in a browser.

    2 Select the network at the top of the page.

    3. on the left, select network.

    4. Select Network (IP) address

    5. select manual DNS server

    a. manual Preferred DNS should read 8.8.8.8

    b. alternate DNS server should read. 8.8.4.4

    6. Select apply you could get a fair warning select OK

Next, OBIEE, I created impersonate user. When I run this application on Weblogic Server built-in, it shows dashboard OBIEE perfectly. But when I deploy the application on weblogic OBIEE server, deployed with success but shows following error when we try to access the application via a URL.

    Unable to connect to the presentation BI server. Please ensure that it is running, configured correctly, and that the details of the connection in this application is accurate. Please check the log file for more details.

    (Http) connection works very well when check it out us inside the app. Can you please help how to solve this problem?

    I noticed that I have to drag the connection in the connections of Application resources (if it is not present), I have to uncheck in the properties/deployment of applications 'Powers' and cancel the deployment of the application and redeploy with JDEV (or em)

    When I tested missing missing datafile and control file scenario on the primary database, it worked (Advisor to recover data)

    However, missing datafile scenario does not work on the physics of the day before.

  • Unable to connect to the main DNS server when you try to access the internet

    Computer has worked fine for the year last until 2 weeks ago and now unable to connect to the internet.

    Windows Vista on broadband and services connected directly to the modem by ethernet.  Provider Internet has run tests and confirmed modem is fine and it's like my laptop runs very well on it.

    Re-initialization of the modem, internet works and you can type in a few places and it seems OK, but you can't do anything on a site, it is, enter the details and even if you try and enter anything, you can usually view 2 sites and then it goes again.  However, the network icon shows that on and connected to the internet.

    The diagnosis, it is said that he cannot access the primary DNS server.

    Do you have any idea how I can fix this or should I just completely re - install windows from the original disk set?

    A few things you can try...  [This will be the Windows to try to automatically fix your connection]

    Open 'Network and sharing Center' (you can search for it in the Vista Start menu)

    Under tasks, click on "diagnose and repair".

    If this fails, you can try...  [This will use the NETSHell utility to RESET your network interface (removes all static configurations and sets DHCP)]

    Open a command prompt (you can also search for it on the start menu in Vista, if you have this OPTION enabled, you need to start as administrator)
    The type of command line: NETSH INTERFACE IP RESET. JOURNAL

    If you still have problems, try to post your IPCONFIG/all, file HOSTS and ROUTE PRINT on this forum.

    How to:

    IPCONFIG/ALL
    Open the command prompt and type: IPCONFIG/all
    To save the output to a file simply type at the command prompt: IPCONFIG/all > filename.txt

    Your HOSTS file is located in the following path (the HOSTS file does not have an extension, it is simply named "HOSTS"):

    Open the command prompt and type: ROUTE PRINT
    To save the output to a file simply type at the command prompt: ROUTE PRINT > filename.txt

    PS: If it becomes really hairy, you can provide NETSH DUMP (this provides virtually all network configurations)... You certainly shouldn't need to re - install Windows.  There is probably a setting of network configuration problem that causes this problem.  Good luck!

    I would like to know what (50504) error message is "sign in failed"? I saw several error messages (50501) on the web, but I do not understand the error 50504.

    Last night, I used "Security Wipe" on my Q10 (10.3.2.2836) because I had a few errors running Android on one of the apps (TTPod) I downloaded from 1 mobile market. After correctly wiped the device and started upward, I tried to connect my BlackBerry ID can I get the sign in failure - Unable to connect to the server BlackBerry ID. Please try again. error message (50504).

    What is the problem of BlackBerry Server? I can successfully connect to 'BlackBerry Protect' https://protect.blackberry.com/
    So, I'm sure I'm not captures bad BlackBerry user ID and password. Since last night, I used security wiped for 5 times because it seems the only solution but so far without success. It's frustrating. Help, please!

    After the Wipe of security, I tried;
    Update to the latest version of the software.
    Register through the network. (HRT)
    Many battery pulls.
    Use 4G and 3G to connect.
    Home WiFi to connect.

    I tried to create the new BlackBerry ID, but I still get the same error message. (50504) it seems that my Q10 is not possible to connect to the server BlackBerry ID. Please advise kindly.

    Thanks for your comment. As mentioned in my post, I was really frustrated. However, I found a solution by logging into "another home WiFi". When I went to my friend, I tried its wifi at home, then all of a sudden, was able to connect to the BlackBerry server. I don't know the reason why it does not connect with my wifi at home but working with her wifi at home.

    If all BB users encounter a 50504 error message, I encourage them to try "another connention WiFi" for example a friend home WiFi, WiFi, etc.

    I am happy that my BB works perfectly.

    All of a sudden, I have problems with my mail connection. I keep getting errors connecting to the server - I'm on a pop3 server with time warner. My e-mail application windows displays an error. Force connection and after 1 or 2 timeouts, I finally get a connection for a few minutes.

    As this happened, I noticed the startup for the top lap time takes 3-4 minutes extra. Safe identity (Norton) also takes a lot of time to react. If the internet connection is very good.
