  The COM object in question is the PIA (Primary Interop) Assembly for Microsoft Word. It should be installed with Office 2003, but I think it's optional. Make sure you run the latest Office 2003 service pack (Service Pack 3). If everything seems to be installed correctly and it still does not work, you will need to manually install these - search download site of Microsoft for "Microsoft Office 2003 Primary Interop Assemblies".

  Please help!, I had problems with the installer and read in the forum to go to the registry and do a right-click on the current user hkey permissions and system under objects of type then press on check names and apply and then select restart, once I restarted all my icons are white with ink instead of exe nothing will run programs to cmd regedit anything that requires admin access. I tried to restore from disk and said all settings could not be restored and I'm stuck. I had to use no admin programs and are not admin using the sandbox which I forgot that I even installed. I don't want to spendd the next 2 days, reinstall all programs and settings from cant even get to windows easy transfer. Will someone please help?   It seems that you performed a restore of the system since the repair mode. If this could not solve the problem you can restore your registry files manually to an earlier point via the steps described below. The process is complex and requires some careful typing. Ask a computer-savvy friend to help you if you lack experience in this field. Note that it may reset your password to a previous value.
  1. keep tapping F8 during the first phase of startup.
  2. select Repair from the menu.
  3 log in as administrator if you are prompted.
  4. Select repair when prompted.
  5. Select the command line.
  6. identify the correct drive letter for your Windows installation. It could be one drive other than c, but it will not X:. You do this by typing commands
  DIR C:\Win*
  Dir D:\Win*
  dir E:\Win*
  until you find the Windows folder.
  I'll call this "Q:" drive
  7 type these commands:
  CD /d Q:\windows\System32\config
  xcopy *. * Q:\RegBack\
  CD RegBack
  dir
  8. review the dates of the software, system, and SAM files. The files created before or after that is your problem?
  9. If they were made before the problem appeared, you can then type these commands:
  copy software / y...
  /y copy system...
  /y copy Sam...
  (the two points are part of each order)
  10. restart normally. If things don't work then you can go back by copying files from the original register of Q:\Regback to Q:\Windows\System32\config.

  I would like to ask you a few questions in order to get a better understanding of this issue so that we can better help you.

  (a) what version of Windows 7 use you?

  (b) what is the exact error message you are getting?

  Method 1: You can also try to perform a file system (scan SFC) verification tool. This tool will fix the system files are corrupted.

  Scan SFC enforcement procedure:

  1. click on the Start button

  2. on the Start Menu, click all programs followed by accessories

  3. in the menu accessories, right-click on command line option

  4. in the drop-down menu that appears, click the "Run as Administrator" option

  5. If you have the User Account Control (UAC) enabled, you will be asked permission before the opening of the command line. You simply press the button continue if you are the administrator or insert password etc.

  6. in the command prompt window, type: sfc/scannow then press enter

  7. a message is displayed to indicate that "the analysis of the system will start.

  8. be patient because the analysis may take some time

  9. If all the files need replace SFC will replace them. You may be asked to insert your Vista DVD for this process to continue

  Method 3: you can try to start safe mode and restore the system, if you are unable to do it in normal mode.

  Again, I am unable to download any app on my iPhone this time 6. This has happened before on my ipad and I had to wipe my ipad and reload all to solve the problem. It's a huge impact, because I have to constantly save data lost, but all downloaded content and then pay to download content and pay data charges to download content that is extremely expensive.   The auto setting worked when I was in the United States connecting via a LAN in the hotel but not here at home in AUS, where the settings auto search for an address DNS 192.168.1.1, my router ADSL/2.  All other functions like Skype, Adobe updated, download of MS shop, all work very well using 192.168.1.1.  Also my XP Home PC, all use 192.168.1.1 and they get the updates without any problem.

  The 0x8024402C error codes typically occur because there is an incorrect character in substitution of proxy settings. Basically, it's something to do with the proxy of your connection settings network and which can be overcome by changing the DNS settings in manual.

  Bad adjustment System (DNS) domain name of your network connection may also cause this error. Update Windows servers are accessible through DNS servers configured for Internet access. If a local DNS server has changed for some reason, the Windows Update client isn't able to find and connect to the Windows Update server.

• On my XP machine, I am unable to download the updates. Error code 0 x 80246008.

  To update last Tuesday, I was unable to download the updates.  I went through the FAQ and decided to make a FIX for Microsoft Update.  Later when I tried downloads I got the error code 0 x 80246008 and later by Windows Defender error 0 x 80240022 has been received.  After several other attempts to repair as suggested in the bandages.  I discovered that the BITS service is missing or corrupted.  Now, after having tried several fixes I'm afraid I did the worst problem.  Y at - it all action correction that I can take to get a BITS download and own resettlement?  Apparently, the Windows Update service is intact and is set for automatic activation at startup, but without the partners of BITS service, nothing can be downloaded.  I would like suggestions.  I realize the support ends for XP in April 2014, but still would like to be as secure as possible.  Thank you.

  I think it's missing or damaged settings that causes this error code because of the following command which usually gets rid of this code

  Tracking Add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BITS\Parameters /v ServiceDll /t REG_EXPAND_SZ /d %windir%\System32\qmgr.dll

  and it can be a failure of the qmgr.dll and qmgrprxy.dll to register initially which then translates the inability of the BITS Installer to run.  On the first page of Veeshush talks about this, but you say that you have already saved the files. I don't really know what is suspended the installation procedure of BITS for you when there would have worked for others and that a procedure of Microsoft originates. Of course, some of the files needed to complete are corrupt.

  as was suggested by another poster ElderL could solve the unknown problems that a single registry merger would not correct.  This would replace the registry values of BITS that are suspect with a set of values, who knows him well.
