Unable to second monitor installation

Original title - display settings are not saved

I just bought a second monitor.  I want this monitor as an extension of my primary monitor.  When I go to display settings and try to attach the second monitor, check extend the desktop to this monitor and apply, it always comes back to 1 monitor, default settings.  How can I save the new settings?

Did you install appropriate drivers for the new monitor - if this isn't the case, please get it from the manufacturer of the monitor and install them (even if you've used versions on the disc that came with the monitor, updates that can solve this problem may be available).  The second monitor work at all in any configuration dual monitor?  The second monitor actually works at all - did you see images and screens on this subject?  Are you sure that the second monitor is compatible with the video card, it is attached (some integrated video cards and even additional cards do not have a lot of power and unable to properly run a screen wide and high resolution - and may not work at all or may work only partially or sporadically problems).  I try right here dismiss the possibility that there may be a material, the connection or compatibility issue before moving on to software problems.

See the following article: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Understanding-multiple-monitors.  If this doesn't resolve the problem, then wait the right for links to see also articles and check as well (and they can also lead to even more).  In the end, you should be able to access all items from Microsoft on setting up, troubleshooting and configuration of two monitors in Vista.  Hopefullly an article will identify you missed a step or point out exactly where is the problem. I suspect that the system is not properly configured to use two monitors and that is why you are having this problem.  I don't think that he "s it does not save the settings (if this can be a symptom) as much as it is that the system doesn't fully recognize it is in dual screen mode - although I don't know why because I don't know what you've done to put in place.

Here's a simple article on how to setup two monitors-, but I suspect it is perhaps too simplistic to this situation (although it may report a fundamental issue that must be treated):http://www.ehow.com/how_5960696_setup-windows-vista-desktop-computers.html.

Here is another article on setting up two monitors in Vista: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-setup-dual-monitors-with-Microsoft-Vista/.  Note You must press the next button to move from page to page, as it is spread over several pages.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

I have a dual display setup. A 225WS 1680 x 1050 monitor LG is connected via a VGA cable and a VGA - DVI converter to a DVI port on a Radeon 6850 video card. The second screen is a Samsung HDTV set at 1920 x 1080 and connected via HDMI on the same video card. I have set up the screen LCD as main monitor and the Samsung HDTV as the extended display. HDTV is most of the time, but I use it at least once a day. This isn't a driver problem, because it happened also when I had an old Nvidia video card and it is fixed by a new installation of windows and setting up of screens from a square.

The installer works great almost all the time except when I try to use some programs or Windows functions (7). When I try to start the MozBackup application or I pop in a new usb device and click on the notification bubble, both these windows (MozBackup and the "Driver software Installation" window) open in the center of the HDTV as opposed to the LCD (which is defined as primary). The problem is that the views are ~ 3 meters out and HDTV is mostly off.

I sent a bug report to the developer of MozBackup because this part is perhaps a problem with its software or what old Windows functions and hooks it uses, but the window "Installing the driver software" (or who knows what other program Windows Basic) has exactly the same problem and is part of Windows.

What can I do about it? I DIDN'T put the displays in any mode "clone" to have office in mirror between them. Is - this fixable somehow? I guess that is not a problem with the video card drivers because I used two different video cards with either the manufacturer or windows update drivers and the problem is the same.

  • The second monitor connected to the Satellite Pro A100 "disconnect" himself

    Hello

I use my laptop - Satellite Pro A100 (PSAACE) - with a second monitor with no problems until I did an upgrade to Windows Vista. After installation, the second monitor starts to show problems, i.e. that works intermittedly. Every 5 seconds or so the monitor "unplug" itelf and caps again. I hear the (UN) plug sound when she did this and the two displays flickers during this period.

Can someone suggest a solution to this problem?

    Concerning

I put t know what can be the problem but it sounds like the connection problem. Make sure that the monitor is connected correctly. Also try to test it with another external monitor. Is perhaps the cable or connector defective.

  • Second monitor is not detected after upgrade to Windows 10

After you have installed Windows 10 upgrade Windows 7, my second monitor is no longer functional. The computer is an HP Touch Smart 610-1065qd. I connect on the second monitor through a USB 2.0 Port Replicator 2005pr HP. The Replicator appears as a drive when you look at this PC and an arbitrator in him like HP USB DOCK, as it did in Windows 7. The Replicator seems to work, I can't access the SSD on the device and use a wireless mouse. The receiver is connected to the port replicator. The second monitor, also connected to the Replicator, as it was before the upgrade. Now the system is unable to detect this monitor. The MANAGER of peripheral DEVICES, MONITORS, indicates there is a monitor Active, listed as "PnP monitor" generic Device Manager displays a second monitor as a hidden device. Identified as a "generic PnP monitor' and the State of the device is"currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45) ». In Windows 7, I don't remember the second monitor listing. USB and the DISPLAY NETWORK DEVICES, the entry is USB PORTS port REPLICATOR 2.0 HP 2005pr. Under GRAPHICS cards, there are two lists. The first is an adapter named "AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5570". This corresponds to my video card. The second adapter named "glance speed Boost. I believe that Ancestry.com can installed this. "This device is working properly" is the condition for both cards. I manually checked new drivers for all components. There is no effect. Then, I went to HP and downloaded the most recent Setup to monitor. I then tried to load the drivers and monitoring software. I also loaded the screen in compatibility mode, then in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3, then compatibility for Windows 7 and finely mode as a regulator. As a result, I tried the same process with the original disc. After each test, I rebooted the system. Still unable to detect the second monitor, nothing in Device Manager and unable to detect a new monitor on screen. I attempt to change the Projection. He also, had no effect on the display. Then, I deleted graphics cards. First of all, the adapter "AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5570", which corresponds to my video card. Second, the "Speed Boost glance. This also, don't give not any what on second monitor display. Even if it is visible only when show it hidden devices is checked. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I finely found a fix for the problem to my question; Second monitor, not detected after upgrade to Windows 10. Not the one I was hoping. It turns out that the fault was with the HP 2005pr USB 2.0 Port Replicator. It seems that the driver may be at fault. After more than a month of waiting, I decided to replace the duplicator. I decided to buy a Port adapter to replace the duplicator. What is much less expensive experiment and see if it was infecting the duplicator. It turned out that my second monitor is back and healthy. I decided to continue to use the port adapter and buy a USB Hub to replace this part of the duplicator. I no longer use the HD Audio output, after replacing the old speakers with Bose USB speakers some time ago. I thank everyone for help.

Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit OS is unable to complete the installation.

I have a Dell Inspiron 530 of 2007 which came with Vista and has been updated 2 years later at 7 w. I had to reinstall 7 W... 3 or 4 times since 2010. I guess that my machine can't handle W7 very well.

My current problem started with a BSOD problem. After trying some suggestions Internet on how to solve this BSOD problem that did not work, including repair of Windows, I did a data back up mode without failure and then decide to reinstall Windows 7 from the MS CD. My level of understanding is limited, but as noted, I've done this before with success. What I didn't understand is there seems to be another unsolved problem which does not allow the complete reinstallation of windows.

I did a clean install, then a formatting and in both cases, W7 could not complete the installation. It progresses to the final stage of "complete installation" and then there is a second error message 1 that I can't read... "" a problem has been detected... close... I have since read that the original BSOD problem and the 'detected problem' could also well be linked to the display driver. And this driver it must be disabled before performing a Windows installation. But I'm not able to access Safe Mode or the control panel to turn it off. If this driver is the problem, is there another way to turn it off?

  • Proper placement of the Image on the Second monitor

    Monitor Problem.jpg

I used a setup two monitor for awhile.

Recently I replaced my 19 inch right hand with a 24 monitor monitor inches.

Now that I extend Photoshop CC 2015 on the second monitor, the extended section is not in line with the section base. In other words, the upper part of the extended section is 2 inches below the base section; and the bottom of the extended section is the bottom of the screen.

My system is Windows 7 64-bit with a videocard GeForce 660

Any suggestions on how I could fix this problem? In the display on the right hand monitor is set to full screen, the image appears correctly. I tried to use OSD of the monitor to change the location of the image, but this seems to be unable to solve this problem.

Above is a picture of the problem.  On the left is PS CC 2015; on the right is the extension of Photoshop.

Right click on the desktop and choose screen resolution. Select the second screen and drag by the amount of that compensation is.  It's something that I discovered completely by accident during the addition of a third screen (Cintiq Companion 2).  You can drag above or below, left, or right and refine the position.  It's a trick, but I'm not quite sure if it's purely Windows code, or integrated in the video drivers (nVidia in my case)
