    Microsoft Security Essentials uses its own copy of Windows defender so it stops one supplied with Windows 7. Your system is currently still rather protected but by MSE.

    Follow these steps to try to solve your problems of boot.

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html
    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:
    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/
    ISO Burner:http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
    And that way if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Data recovery, if required:

    1. slave of your hard drive in another computer and read/save your data out there.

    2. put your Hard drive in a USB hard drive case, plug it into another computer and read/save from there.

    3 Alternatively, use Knoppix Live CD to recover data:

    http://www.Knopper.NET/Knoppix/index-en.html

    Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm
    Download the Vista software from the link above.
    After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.
    Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.
    Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1st in the boot order.
    Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.
    When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.
    Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.
    Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).
    Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.
  • Unable to start after the installation of updates
    original title: after doing a clean install of Vista Premium he had 105 updates to do, but since their doing that he has not done everything it will be now I can get into safe mode does not start, but that's all
    I did a clean install of Vista basic first then upgraded to Vista Premium there was a 105 updates windows to do did not each other, but now the computer won't in vista I can get into safe mode, but that's all.  How can I fix the problem
    Hello
    Start the computer in a clean boot state.
    Start your computer in a clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.
    See the following article in the Microsoft KB for more information on how to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
    Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.
  • Unable to start after the installation of Windows updates
    original title: windows update 10/11/2011.
    When I install the updates above that my pc does not restart, I restore it to before the update and my itunes icon disappears.
    I installed both times and the same thing happened twice, am now a little worried if you want to try again or what to do next.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated, but nothing technical massively please!
    Thank you
    Nigel.
    Hello Nigel,
    I would recommend installing either of these updates at the same time until you see this behavior.
    When this occurred, use system restore to go back to when the last update was installed and can hide the update, which is the origin of the problem.
    Best regards
    I have a HP Slimline s7410
    XP Home Edition SP3
    I had Norton free with Comcast, but since I have no more Comcast became Norton expired. So I uninstalled Norton and installed the free version of Avira, he scanned the computer and it was clean. I went to reboot and now it does not start.
    I have a cd/dvd drive of work.
    I don't have an XP bootable installation CD
    My system worked well until: I installed the free version of Avira
    Whenever I select one on the XP advanced options options menu start, it goes into a boot loop.
    I turn off the auto reboot system failure although it seems only work once, as the next time he's trying to start up it goes into the boot loop.
    Here's what my BSOD looks like:
    Disable or uninstall any anti-virus, disk defragmentation or backup utilities. Check the configuration of your hard drive and check the updated drivers. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.
    Any help is greatly appreciated! :)
    My first suggestion is to do a system restore at this time point.
    second suggestion is to keep your external drive connected to the pc at all times.  only detach when necessary.   of course, it would be better to install a second hard drive in the computer instead.   in any case, keep your personal files out of the system disk is a wise thing to do.   You can also download and store files for free on the Microsoft Skydrive site.
    third suggestion is to keep your system set upward through executing a check disk and Defrag at least once a month.   Basically, you can open the Explorer and right-click on the drive letter.  then select Properties, and on the Tools tab, you will have the opportunity to run the disk check.  then reboot and do a Defrag.   where this disk check fails, then you will need to run it to the drive via a bootable cd prompt.
    Interestingly, I don't know if the bootable cd that you made you allows to run the disk check.
    so my suggestion is to do a series of tests using your cd bootable your computer works.  see if you can actually run a chkdsk/r at the moment with them.    If Yes, then if your constant worries are having bad sectors on the hard disk, chkdsk/r will identify and mark so windows will jump on them.    in any case, see if your boot at the moment media can run a check disk at all, and let me know.
    fifth proposal is to install "microsoft security essentials" like your anti virus program.  even if you have run ubantu, it is not likely to have been an infected copy.   anti - are most critical virus for windows and not not so much for ubantu or linux is because windows is a system of world class operations.    the people who make the virus deliberately their engineer for the windows operating system.   If, however, ubantu and linux have been just as popular as Windows, virus engineers would make infections for the o.s. too.     Although they no doubt, attacks are more frequent for the windows os.
  • ITunes does not start after the installation of Windows 10
Itunes and Ipodserver module will run by Manager jobs, but Itunes does not open. iTunes starts in SafeMode as explained in the link below (hold SHIFT and control on your keyboard while you open iTunes).
    Fix unexpectedly closes or problems of launch in iTunes for Windows - Apple Support
    Solution, according to this link, is:
    If the problem does not occur in Mode safe, remove any third party plug-ins iTunes: solving problems with third party plug-ins - Support Apple iTunes but the link has been archived, and I can't find any plug-ins installed iTunes. Any other ideas?
    For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.
    The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.
    Review the other boxes and other support documents list to the bottom of the page, in case one of them applies.
    More information area has direct links with the current and recent buildings if you have problems to download, must revert to an older version or want to try the version of iTunes for Windows (64-bit-for old video cards) as a workaround for problems with installation or operation, or compatibility with QuickTime software or a third party.
    Backups of your library and device should be affected by these measures but there are links to backup and recovery advice there.
  • Equium L350 - Vista fails to start after the installation of recovery
    Hello world
    I have an Equium L350 after an accident I couldn't restart my pc. I tried to solve by using the recovery f8 menu and it did not work so I contacted Toshiba and got a restore disc. I reinstalled from the disc, after the instalation it said complete installation but visa does not start.
    I get: Windows cannot repair this computer automatically click finished to turn off your pc
    After a format and reinstall my computer broken? He is 13 months here for out of warranty
    Hello
    Normally after the installation of recovery your laptop should work fine again.
    In my opinion, it could be a malfunction of the equipment. Did you test the HARD drive for bad sectors? You can do this with Drive Fitness Test: http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/support/download.htm#DFT
    Download the ISO image and burn it to a disk. Then you can boot from it and test your HARD drive for errors.
    I also recommend to check the RAM for errors: http://memtest86.com/
    Memtest is a good diagnostic tool for the RAM.
    I hope I could help a bit. :)
  • Patches of Toshiba Service Station closes after starting after the installation of 3
    Hello
    We recently have a "patch day" Toshiba Service station. I think from my memory that the patches are released earlier, but I installed them on April 23, 2010. There are three patches, and so that I can restore from the system recovery, it was:
    -Flashing of BIOS
    -Patch HDD/SSD Alert
    -HDD Recovery patch.
    So, not to mention that I had problems to make the flashing patch BIOS to run, finally extracting installation files to another location and run it with administrator rights.
    My problem is that after this session of patch, my Toshiba Service Station no longer starts. When I start my system, after recording on it seems to start upward but always farm then again with windows say error report 'stopped working' and that's it. I'm not sure patch who this could be. I also believe that one of these Islands said in the description that it will update station itself? I downloaded Service Station on the Toshiba site but it will not prove at best, does not matter if I uninstall it, before you start the installation with administrator rights or not.
    My system is Satellite A500, Windows 7 64 bit.
    I hope you can help. Unless I can't access the updates anymore!
    Note: A few days before I installed a graphic driver for my Nvidia GT 230 m SINCE THE SITE WEB of NVIDIA. Why am I? I've lived literally all HOURS a unwanted system reboot and I see in the problem report it was always because of the graphic driver. Subsequently, I installed the two patches from the site of Toshiba, the elders and the most recent, but the problem persisted. Fortunately, a few days I have recheched the Nvidia site and there was a new driver.
    Although he said BEFORE (not now anymore) that this graphics card should be based on a driver manufacturer, I installed it but because he Coulnd't ' t get worse. The positive thing is that I didn't have a single far system crash even if I leave the phone turned on for hours.
    I'm not sure if the problem with the gas station started right after the installation of the graphics driver, but it can't be because I installed the three patches mentioned above, through gas station, a few days later.
    But he seemed to have affected the software after these patches? I'm not sure.
    Hello
    Simply said; Toshiba Service Station breaks down and new installation of this tool didn't help.
    Right?
    Well, because you are not sure what s wrong and depending on the assignment, you have other problems with the software, I recommend to recover the laptop using the recovery of HARD drive option!
    This will outline the laptop to factory settings.
    Of course, you must back up the data if you have important files.
    Run recovery disc HARD and after that check how the laptop would serve!
  • Windows 7 does not start after the installation of updates - sounds familiar!
    Apparently, I have another system that no longer starts after you install an update to Windows 7. New kick computer _ I have to disable the automatic update of windows. Twice I had to restore the system in the first week because he hung up after the installation of updates for windows 7. I have no idea what update is the cause of the problem.
    Essentially, start the screen goes black with the cursor blinking in the upper left corner of the screen. The only way out is to restore the system.
    Does anyone know what update is the culpret? HP support has no idea. Their only solution was to update windows 7 to 'never download an update from windows '. It is a terrible thing to be underestimated solution.
    Here's the resolution...
    I installed all the updates except KB2284742 954430, 973688 and 971033. So I decided to install these 1 4 at a time in the order shown. I installed successfully 228472 and 954430 and 973688 disappeared from the list of available updates. So I installed 971033 and it installed successfully and I was still able to restart.
    My conclusion is that there is a conflict between the first 3 updates when they are installed at the same time.
    Now my system is up to date with all windows updates and I'm able to restart without any problems!
    Close this message.
