Original title: Windows Recovery Error Question

Earlier I was looking at my computer, running a virus because my computer scan playing strange earlier. Every time I start Windows, I would be spammed with windows titles 'open with... '. ». I managed to open the Task Manager and get rid of all of them, but my computer shifted significantly again. Whenever I close it and restart the same thing would happen. I opened my virus scanner and started running it. Of course, he had a virus.

As I was waiting for the analysis at the end, my computer suddenly closed and restarted without any warning at all. It froze on the splash screen. To stop and restart my computer again, I received a message that says:

"Unable to start Windows. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. If Windows files have been damaged or misconfigured, Startup Repair can help diagnose and fix the problem. If the power was interrupted during startup, choose Start Windows normally. »

I was given two options: Launch Startup Repair (recommended) and start Windows normally. When I select the Startup Repair tool, I am taken to a screen with a loading bar that says "Windows is loading files... ». After loading, the screen would freeze. If I try the other option, I am taken to the splash screen and it would freeze.

Is it possible to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Error: "unable to start Windows XP" after recent updates

    Original title: Windows XP blocked

Hello, I have 2 computers with Windows XP with SP2 and automatic updates. After the updates (17 June), two computers refuse to start. I hope that all makes sense... I'm unable to start after the start page of Windows XP. I think I have assumed that the computer turn off when there is no. The battery may have exhausted and when I plugged it back in and tried to start it would not.

When the Windows start page is in place, it seems that HD works for awhile, but stops and goes no further. I am able to boot in safe mode and have tried to restore with no effect. When I click on Toshiba Manager of power supply in the control panel I get "Policy of NoteBook Load Fail" this could be a problem.

    What do you think???
    Oh, I have a Satellite P15-S420.

    Hello

In my opinion, this power saver error message occurs because you started the laptop in safe mode. In this case, the OS doesn't use the Toshiba drivers that are required for the use of additional applications.
You write about the restore procedure. Have you tried to install the laptop with the supplied restore CD? If this isn't the case, then try it.

  • Start repair cannot find a problem, but are still unable to start Windows Vista successfully.

So here's the skinny.  I have a PC with Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit.  I came home today and I tried to start it up, it got to the point where the bar is be thrown backwards and then what seems to have been that a BSOD flew for a fraction of a second the power cut and the system restarted.  Restart Start Up Repair did not work (you cannot determine the problem).  Could not start safe mode, and when I went to all our restore points had mysteriously disappeared the system recovery.  I checked the material widely to find errors, and it doesn't seem to be a hardware problem.  Since at this stage would not worth the hassle to track down a Vista Home Premium disc to make a repair (which I'm not sure would work based on reading other forums) a Windows 7 upgrade would solve the problem?  If that won't accomplish anything, I at least would be able to rifle through the old partition and get my stuff is back with a fresh install of Windows 7 on a new partition?  What can I do, or I am the GROUND.  There are a lot of things on this computer and I would be sad to lose.  Unfortunately, we are a company household risky here and nobody listened to me when I said that we really need get an external hard drive to make a backup, so we don't have not one.  Help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Loveofsporks,

You are able to start Windows now? If this isn't the case, follow the steps below.

1 restart your computer and immediately press the F8 key until you reach the menu Advanced Boot Options.

    2. Select Disable automatic restart in the event of system failure

    3. restart the computer.

    4. After you receive the exact error message.

For an upgrade to Windows 7, you must be able to boot into Vista. A clean install would solve your problem if it's related software. Regarding your data, try to connect the hard drive to another computer as a slave drive to see if you can recover your data. You can check in the recovery software from 3rd party in option.

    * With the help of third party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

I have an iMac 13.2 running OS x 10.11 El Capitan, I also use windows 8.1 as a secondary OS for some of my games.

The problem is that I wanted to try the Beta of Sierra 10.12 and partitioned my HARD drive for the triple boot, version beta worked fine, but when I tried to start on windows, I got a message saying "no operating system found". There are still some my data on the bootcamp partition, but I can't start windows... Is there a way to fix this? I don't want to back up my important files and reinstall everything...

You cannot partition a disk containing a Boot Camp partition. Back up your data, then start again.

    Hello

You did changes to the computer before the show?

    Method 1:  SFC scanner.

System File Checker (SFC) scan will replace the missing or corrupted system files on your computer.

Use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7 system files:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Method 2: I suggest you make a system full scan just to be sure.

Here is a link that will give you information on how to perform a full scan of the system:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

  • Unable to start mode all - stops at agp440.sys line

I have a Dell Dimension 4400 (about 8 to 10 years) running Windows XP Edition family.  I think I was in SP3.  I mainly use Microsoft Word and the Internet.  I run AVG for antivirus and Firefox as my browser.  The system had been slow, and startup messages told me that my antivirus is out of date.  I did the update antivirus and scanned the PC.  He showed me many warnings, but no virus infection.  I then ran a de-frag, clean temporary files, etc.  I also uninstalled iTunes (never used) and a Walgreens photo program.  I stop the PC.  On startup, he hooked up with the Windows logo and is never further.  I rebooted and entered the advanced configuration.  No matter what option I choose, I'm stuck with the command line pasted on agp440.sys as the last file I see on the screen.  The only other option is to close.  I have a Dell Driver and Utility disk, which does nothing.  A CD of Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition reinstallation CD, which does nothing.  I must stress that the CD ROM on my PC stopped working several years ago.  I'm tired of priming (F12) to select the boot device.  I have an external CD-ROM drive that I have connected to my PC.  When I booted up and selected the removable disk, with the reinstallation CD is not read.  Basically, the furthest I can get is the agp440.sys system line.

My guess is that a driver has been damaged.  I know I need a new PC, and this could be the motivation to get a new, but I want to get the data off the PC.  So my question is: what can I fix this or get off my data?

    Thank you.

Make a CD of bootable XP Recovery Console as follows (no XP media required):

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget.

This is not the same as recovery disks that may have come to a store to purchase the system.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    xp_rec_con. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.

  • Lsass.exe system error object name not found, unable to start Windows in any mode.

I am working on a friends computer who has a problem, it does not boot in any mode.  This includes everything and all alternate Mode without failure, last known good Configuration and other options in between.

The computer is an old one but running Windows XP with Service Pack 3 and is updated from a few months ago.  He had a program to update AVG as well as several anti-spyware installed SpyBot, Adaware, and Malwarebytes programs.  Sometimes, the computer had a virus or spyware that was eventually deleted by the user with these programs in the past.

I searched the internet for at least 8-10 hours looking for solutions without real success.  If not all of you with this problem, most eventually do a full reformat their hard drive.  This owner does not have a recovery disk (lost?) with their computer for that and they have important documents that they would be saved.  A solution (last resort) is to remove the hard drive and put it in my computer to copy documents on a cd/dvd.  It is very likely to buy a newer computer at this stage anyway, but needs these documents

    -----------------

What happens is after the start screen of Windows, but before the Welcome screen, a box with the lsass.exe system error error: object name not found appears.  Clicking on it just restarts the computer to restart the process.

I used a boot Norton cd to test the virus in case it might be this worm Sasser, sometimes associated with this error and it is clean. so I really doubt that this problem is associated with that.  Also used checks and drive to scan to check for errors.  Don't check, there is no way to go back to a previous restore point or configuration.

Tried to use the recovery console out of my Windows XP installation disk: in this case I tried to develop a copy of the file lsass.exe on the hard drive, but it could not extend the file.  I tried several times with the same results.  Don't really know if that would have helped it worked.

At this point, I'm really at a loss on how to continue.  Any suggestion would be appreciated and thanks in advance!

Your friend's computer is not likely to be infected by the Sasser worm that this virus is many, many years now. Extract the data on the drive and do a clean install/factory restore of Windows. You can usually buy the mftr computer recovery media. (if an OEM brand like HP, Dell, etc.). low-cost. If you decide to reinstall Windows, test the material first to make sure it's healthy. Or skip reinstallation if your friend is going to buy a new computer and just take the data for him.

    http://michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html - Clean install - how-to
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Reinstalling_Windows - what you will need at hand

1 remove the drive and put it in a box of USB drive or use a USB adapter. Attach it to a computer that is running a working XP/Vista/Windows7 installation. Use the work of Windows Explorer to copy the data to the hard drive of the system to the rescue and burn data on cd or dvd, or copy it to an external hard drive. I prefer not to do it if I know the drive is infected because he has a chance to infect your host system. In these cases, I use #2 below.

    2. you can start the computer target with a Bart PE (XP only) or Linux Livecd such as Knoppix or Ubuntu and retrieve the data in this way. This has the additional advantage to tell you if the problems you are experiencing are hardware or software related because if the computer behaves perfectly in Linux, you know that Windows (software) is the culprit. Conversely, if the computer behaves badly under Linux, you will know that there is a hardware problem. This is general information on the use of Knoppix for the recovery of data when you do not have Windows:

You will need a computer with two cd records, one of which is an engraver of CD/DVD OR a USB thumb drive with enough capacity to contain your data OR an external USB hard drive. Download Knoppix .iso image file and create your bootable CD *. If you do this in a previous (XP or Vista) operating system, you will need the third burning like Nero, Roxio or freeImgBurn software (Windows 7 can burn .isos natively). Burn as an image, not in the form of data. Then boot with the CD that you created and the Windows files will be visible under Linux. If you want to burn CD/DVD, there will be a Linux burning program to use.

    * If your computer has only an optical drive and you want to use this drive to burn data or need to test drive, you can create a USB bootable Linux instead of a bootable CD. This site will show you how to do it-http://www.pendrivelinux.com

    original title: Virus?

OK, here's the deal. Everything worked fine but now its all bad parties. I was using my computer, Windows Vista, when AVG (antivirus) picked up a malware file. I put in the vault, then deleted. I don't remember what was the name of the file. Then after that when I click on any program the box appears asking what program to use to run the program? So, when I click on internet explore the box appears asking what program to run with? I rebooted and am now in safe mode. I went to do a system restore but it says this "there was an unexpected error, the setting is incorrect (0 x 80070057)" so I looked up the error online. The fix told to run SystemPropertiesProtection.exe but when I get on my computer, he said he hasn't! Can you get it someone please let me know what the devil is going on?
