Unable to use Movie Maker 2.1 to make my own video compilations of my videos converted families (converted with USB 2.0 TV BOX - InterVideo WinDVR).
I use a USB 2.0 TV BOX (its software is "InterVideo WinDVR") to activate my old family videos VHS and DVR (VCR/DVD via RCA cables drive) of video files.
The files are anywhere from 4 or 5 MB .5MB (mainly), with one or two files like 7MB, depending on the family event.
Once I created the new video files, I have no problem to watch with Windows Media Player (and they look beautiful, as there was almost no loss of photo quality and or sound in the transfer at all - very very nice).
Then I will import the video clips/files newly created in Movie Maker (I have Movie Makers version 2.1). in order to make new compilations video, eager to add effects and transitions and music in Movie Maker.
The newly created files seem to import no problem... but when I try to preview... the sound plays very well but there is no video... only in black on the preview screen (the few times I tried this I had to close Movie Maker).
I tried moving them dirrectly to the timeline and then see them and play a clip, but then when I clicked the back button to replay the same thing above occurs, black in the preview with sound window.
I did some reading online to try to understand, and...
I tried to import the file/clip directly on the timeline and then finishing/recording on my computer and then importing the wma file that results, but the same thing, black with sound.
What am I what am I doing wrong or what do I need get this working... grandmas are starting to nag... lol
Thanks a lot for any help or advice anyone can offer me, time and review.

Unable to save my movie in high resolution using Movie Maker 2.6 (Win 7)
Hello:
I spent a ton of time and produced a slide show of wedding for the wedding of my daughter with overlay of music and various transitions. After all that work, I can't save my project in the movies high resolution using Movie Maker 2.6. I tried to go up to 512K Broadband (except option). But anything on this resolution, the film becomes black at some point. But you can still here the music. Why? Is it possible to go to resolutions higher for a slide show of bin? It is a powerful laptop with plenty of memory.
I have closed all other applications. Uncontrolled codec / file type compatibility etc. No difference. BTW, the file does not transfer or open to the latest Live Movie Maker help. That might have been a solution.
Any help would be appreciated.
Kind regards

Can I use Movie Maker? I have Windows XP
I want to take my kids VHS movies and edit, combine and create a DVD. I have Windows XP. Can I use Movie Maker?
You will need to use a DV camera to import into Movie Maker. An alternative would be to use a tuner / capture card to record from a VCR using the tuner (or Media Center, if you have one) software.

Recovery of individual photos of a mpeg. Can I use movie maker?
You can delete individual photos of a mpeg file in windows movie maker? If not, is there a program where you can?
Hello stacyjill1999,
The best way to do it would be to take a snapshot when you play the file. When you try to play the MPEG file, try to take a snapshot by pressing print screen on your keyboard.
Open MS paint and paste the snapshot and save the file under. JPEG.
You can also use any third party software to take pictures by searching using your favorite search engine.

I created a movie after the import of videos and images, first after their conversion to Quicktime version to a version that would play in Windows. I made the movie and it plays well in Movie Maker and starts ok when I burn to disc, but happens about 60% each time and then just says it cannot create disc because of an unspecified error. So, I don't know what I have to do? Any help? Thank you.

Why Movie Maker adds a video as a 7 second video white black?
I have a 44 minute wmv movie that I need to change. I'm going home and add a video. Then when I try to play or change, it is only 7 seconds and is a blank black screen. This is obviously false. I tried to convert it to a higher resolution and then 'Add' again. This movement is also screen black 7 seconds. However, the player window doesn't have a problem reading of the original file. It's only the movie maker who has problems.
HelpI do not have Windows Movie Maker Live, but one of my previous links indicates this.
"Import pictures and videos".
Windows Live Movie Maker 2011 allows you to create movies
using photos and videos imported from Windows Live Photo Gallery 2011, a DVD, a digital camcorder or a smart phone. »As I don't have or use WLMM I'm not sure that this is true or not? I don't know if you need Windows Live Photo Gallery 2011 to import successfully in WLMM?
